create a form with a seperate window attatched. At the moment i can open the 2nd window and save an integer there close the 2nd window and reopen it and the information is still there, but when i close the main form and reopen it the information has gone is there anyway to keep the information?

LDAP is configured in web.config file. An AppScan result is showing that login request was not sent over SSL and recommends always using SSL and POST (body) parameters when sending sensitive information: DirectoryEntry("LDAPPath"), txtUserName, txtPassword)

I have legacy hardware in our building that can accept commands via TCP as long as they have formatted XML in them. Using Wireshark, I have determined the proper format of what needs to be sent.
The problem: When using the original systems controller, I can look at the packet that is sent and see very specifically that there is a section for "eXtensible Markup Language" that has everything laid out properly. When I create my own TCP stream and send the same information, it gets sent as Hypertext Transfer Protocol text, and thus is not picked up.

I have a question about loops that I don't know if it can be done. The program will send data through a parameter to an Oracle DB. What I am trying to do is during a loop I want to be able to send information from one text box, the next time it loops to send information from another text box ect. ect. I was hoping I go do it this way instead of writing out a bunch of parameters in both the program and in Oracle. Can this be done or do I have to write a whole lot of parameters out?

I have a win form with three textboxes that lets the user input information using VB.net 2008. I am wanting the program to send me the information entered (when they hit the send button) as an email and also drop the information entered into an access database.I have the program sending the textbox information as an email.What I am having trouble with is saving the three textboxes to access database. I have an access database set up with a table and three fields for the three textboxes.
All I need to do is each time a user uses the program, it adds the information they enter into the three textboxes to the three different fields in the database. I don't need to let the user view or edit the database in any way.
Is there anyway you can send information back to the original creator of the program? Here is a quick example- I made a little program that gives you general information about your computer, when you click a button it sets the text box to specific information. One of the text boxes gives you the Version of your OS. I would like to know if there is a way to send the information in that text box back to me when someone clicks it and they are connected to the internet. FYI I would tell the person who clicks it before so that I am not stealing information, plus what is there to steal from a simple program I made.

View 2 RepliesI have a form in my project with a textbox that contains a unique computer ID number for the user. I want the user to click a button, which will open my website, and then populate the value from my software into a corresponding computerID form on my website.
The form on my website is just a paypal form that I built using paypal's website builder. It has a buy it now button and a textfield for computer ID. I need to know the computerID so that I can send the user the correct activation code.
Is there any way for me to accomplish this? All I have so far is just opening my site:

When the user selects something a presses a button I have the information about the selection load to a list box which is on a CheckoutForm. One of the options I have is for the user to save what they have made (this includes the information in the list boxes) and return to a previous form to build another page. I have been trying to use the Me.Close() but it does not save the information and using Me.Hide() displays the wrong elements on the forms.

View 9 RepliesSo my question is that I have 2 list boxes in two forms aside from the main one. and I am trying to transfer what I choose in the side form to transfer to the list box.
several questions: Why does the blank list form I have in the main form create a problem when I enter a name for the list box and why does it appear in the box when I put it there? As you can see in my errors. It doesn't seem to recognize the listbox that I wanted to leave empty in the main form.
Second question is how do I get names to add in the main form list box. I believe I have the right code but I seem to be missing something else as well. I want the names to display in the main list box and the integers to add up together so I can separately figure the tax and shipping myself.

How i can send data from one form to another form through a network? i'm not asking for the codes, i just want to know what i should do to accomplish this task. i'm conceptualizing a game with the following details:
1.) there are two players, connected through a network
2.) they take turns looking for words from a puzzle of randomized letters
3.) after the given time has elapsed their words are checked and if both players has the same word, the word is removed
4.) the score is tallied
My question is, how do i get the words from the other form? specifically, how can the server form get the words from the client form? is it possible if i use xml? or can the server form access the variables of the client form? (i don't think it can, though)
