I have put a DetailView in a page and I want whenever a new record inserted through this DetailView it redirect to another page and show a lable with say "Record Inserted Successfully". The question is how I can get access to the lable from ItemInserted event in DetailView page?
View 4 RepliesI want to access a page variable from a user control placed on that page. All the solutions work in C# via casting to the page class. The problem is that this doesn't work in VB. The page class is not selectable from the Intellisense dialog. Manual typing results in the error type not defined. It is strange that C# can do this without a problem. What is the proper solution for this in VB? I had other cases where I needed to access a control on the main page. C# again uses a cast to the page class to access the control. This doesn't work in VB again. So how can I access the page class from a user control in generell?

I've googled but all I'm finding is how to set the font at runtime rather than how to have two different fonts at the same time.
I have three related tables, Residence, HomeOwners & Invoices. Residences can have multiple unpaid invoices. I am trying to create a mailing lable report so if a residence has 4 unpaid invoices, I only need the residence once. The below sql statement is returing 32 rows (the number of unpaid invoices) instead of the jus the 9 residences who owe the 32 invoices.

First, I loop through rows of DataTable and call a function to look for a matched keyword to highlight those words, then update DataTable row with a new string with highlighted keywords.I bind the DataTable dtResult to the DataList. It worked fine until I added this code block to SearchDemo function to highlight the keyword :

Seems like something is preventing me from accessing forms inside web pages that I visit. When I visit a website like Google.com using my custom VB browser I can't add text to the Google search form or any forms on any web page.So I can't register at web sites. And I can't login or use any form that sits on web pages.What is keeping me from accessing web page forms? I mite be missing some kind of .DLL file on windows XP but I can access forms fine in web browsers like Mozilla FireFox.

Using Access I created a few Data Access Pages. These web pages, once opened, work fine to manipulate data as intended, but they keep generating annoying warning messages.There are two messages that pop up every time the web page is accessed. Before the page opens the first message that pops up states: "This website uses a data provider that may be unsafe. If you trust the website, click OK, otherwise click cancel."After pressing OK on the first, the second message pops up and states:"This website is using your identity to access a data source. If you trust the website, click OK, otherwise click cancel."After pressing OK on both messages the page functionality works just fine.I've tried adding password protection to the database and even signing the project with a digital certificate, but I still get the warning messages. This would be fine except there are multiple end users for the access pages and I am trying to avoid the additional confusion this will create, especially since IT has restricted many of the users from editing the internet options.

Here is my coding which is connected to database. In my coding, I create 3 textbox which is txtusername.text, txtpassword.text and txtdepartment.text. User must key in they username, password and their department in the login page, if the user department is Admin then he will access into admin page and if user department is store then he will access into store page. I have a huge website (containing around 5000+) pages. There is a theme functionality in the website where user can choose different colors for their profile. Now i want to use the ASP.net theme feature and put different CSS (for different colors) in the theme folder and in Global.asax i want check the user theme and render appropriate link element with the css. But my problem is, i am not able to access the Page element for adding the link in the page. Here is my code
