C# or VB.NET are welcome. I have an <%#Eval("FirstName")%> in the aspx page, I want to replace "FirstName" to <%#Eval(employee.FirstName)%> but "employee" object is instantiated in the codebehind like this:
Public employee As New Employee How can I call this object in the aspx page? Should I can create an "employee" in the aspx? if so, how to do that.
How do you call a codebehind/class method from a gridview in an aspx page? Also, I need to pass the value of databound column to that method.

The problem is that the page is not *.html but rather *.aspx.I need a way to execute the aspx and get the displayed html into a I have tried the following code, which works properly for html pages, but generates the wrong source code with "access denied" for the page title when I pass in the above aspx page.

i have my first aspx page that has data thatthe user fills in. it is in format of textbox's and at the end of it all the user clicks submit and all data goes in the database. In the database each record gets an ID field. Now when the users clicks submit and goes to the next page, i want the ID's (they could be 1 to 1000+) from the DB that he just inserted and have them available on the second page. how can i take all the id's from page 1 to page 2? can i do it in session?

However, I can't seem to reference that text field through the javascript, since the form begins on the master page. I have a parent page and child page, both aspx. All is working, but now I would like to close child page, if user leaves child popup page and goes back to parent page and clicks on something else like page index of Gridview. I CANNOT close popup child page if user goes to another app, or some other location, I only want to close if something on parent page is changed.
I have the PageIndexChange Event set up for other purposes, I would just like to add some functionality, perhaps a script manager to close the child popup page if the Gridview index is changed, java or another way which ever works best.I think I might also need to check if the child page is even open.

View 1 RepliesRight now, I am working on taking a self-updating excel sheet and building small html blocks from the sheet which will fit into a JQuery list sorter and image viewer (tags and tags ). The problem I am running into is that by placing the code onto the page in a literal the html is never placed on the page, it is generated on the fly, thus the JQuery handler can not hook the tags and the sorter does not function. I know there is a way to add variables from the code behind with <%=var%>, but I need to add a large number of variables that will change as the excel sheet updates, which is why I am using a code behind function to generate a glob of instead of rewriting it constantly.Here is my current Code behind function that generates and inserts into literals:

I have a huge website (containing around 5000+) pages. There is a theme functionality in the website where user can choose different colors for their profile. Now i want to use the ASP.net theme feature and put different CSS (for different colors) in the theme folder and in Global.asax i want check the user theme and render appropriate link element with the css. But my problem is, i am not able to access the Page element for adding the link in the page. Here is my code

In the past I have used the a webclient to do this:

I have 3 vb classes and I am trying to add them to my aspx vb page. I try to do
Dim Class1 as new class1 but only one of them works, the other 2 do not work. I made a sample class and put the following in it:
Public Class test
Public Sub test (byref test as string)
test = 5
end sub
End Class
Then I went and tried to do Dim test as new test but it doesn't work, what am I doing wrong? The other class works fine and I don't know why this one wouldn't.
