Checking AD Password - Create A Password Change Form For My Company's Vendors
Jan 15, 2012I'm trying to create a password change form for my company's vendors. There are a couple of scenarios I could encounter doing this:
1 - User enters invalid current password
2 - New passwords do not match
3 - User's account is locked
4 - User cannot authenticate because password is expired
It's case 4 that I'm struggling with, because their is no way for me to take the password the user entered and verify it against active directory without getting an error.

Jun 1, 2011I am implementing a system where the user can Reset their password if they have forgotten it.Once it is reset I want to give them the option of changing the password so that it will be something more memorable to them.The password is hashed and if i enter in the correct old password and new password the password does change.If I enter in the wrong old password and new password the password doesnt change.Is there a way to match the old password with the old password field in code behind so I can throw up an error to the user to tell them what is wrong? Feb 10, 2009How do you get a textbox being using for password entry to display the black circle that you often see in web forms, on the iphone etc etc?
I can change the PasswordChar property to an asterisk no problem and even copying and pasting symbols inserted into Word seemed to work - just couldn't find a symbol that looked like a bullet point!
Can this actually be achieved for a standalone exe, or is it something unique to web forms? Surely copying and pasting symbols from Word isn't actually the answer?

Mar 15, 2011I have an instance where I have a logo image as part of some artwork..If a user uploads a new logo I have a form field which is larger than the default logo.I then use that form field to position the new image.
The problem is I need to set the background colour of that form field to white so that it covers the old logo in the event that the new image is smaller than the old logo..

The problem with this is that the background colour of the field is set to white and the image then doesn't appear.. i remove the SetFieldProperty and RegenerateField commands and the image replacement works fine.is there a way to set a stacking order on layers?

Mar 25, 2009I need to convert fdf files to pdf in asp.net using vb. I found some code that I'm trying to learn from. What I would like to do is upload the fdf file and then output a pdf to a directory and email it out. The fdf files are coming from a shared linux/php host (using the php fdf functions is all I can do here on this host) that are emailed to a central inbox. I'm going to pick up the files from the inbox and upload them to a win/asp.net box to convert to pdf.The code i found is below.

Nov 18, 2011I am trying to export gridview (HTML Based) to a pdf in asp.net+vb.net (backend). When I click on the Export to PDF button the download window shows, but when you click on open Adobe reader will open but displays the message
" Adobe Reader Could not open 'test[1].pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded) ".
The coding for export to pdf is same for 5 different reports of which 4 are working fine, as well as export to Excel is also working fine for all 5 reports. Does it have any relation with the itextsharp dll version? (I am using itextsharp version 3.1.1.0)
