View 4 Repliesif i create an instance of an object/webpage, is that a complete new object/page based on the original or does it does it just make it accessible? i am almost sure that it creates a new object/page but i would like confirmation. in other words what is the result of this code?

would this create 2 new pages that i can "customize" separately and add different controls to each? heres a brief description of what i want to happen:the user will be viewing Page1 and when he clicks btnCreate i want a page that i created in the designer to be shown and its name and other variables to be determined by what the user chose for room options in Page1. i need "new versions" of this page to be created because multiple users will be creating multiple rooms. i understand that there are more lines of code involved in creating pages and i do have more questions regarding those but i will wait until i confirm that dim Page2 as new Page1 will create a new page. like i said im sure that this does create a new page but i need confirmation. also if it does create a new page, how do i get it to show. i know that response.redirect will redirect me to a dif page but i want show this new room on top of the old one.

View 5 RepliesI am trying to create an application that will login our company's intranet portal via a webpage. The webpage has a single frame in it that loads a secure(https) login form. After logging in, the application will need to read and send xml to and from the portal. I have been digging around and have seen a few different ways of submitting the login information from the program to the site, however, I have not gotten any of them to work. From what I can tell it is difficult to change the values of input boxes that are inside a frame. Am I accurate on this? There will be a large amount of data transfer between the app and the portal so I will need something lightweight but I have enough room that I would rather not reinvent the http/web-browser wheel if at all possible. The reason I say that is because I have read that some objects that handle web pages are very resource hungry. I have no preference on the .net frameworks as this is the area of VB thats kinda confusing. What I am looking for is either a point or violent shove in the right direction.

I making a webpage with the help visual basic. I wanted to put a flv video in it and i used flash control for asp.net [URL]. I made the player in flash told it to download the video from the sever. Now when i put the player on the webpage and put the webpage on the sever it cant play the video. But when i just pres the the player which is in swf format it works. It can download the video. But when i put the player on my webpage it cant.

The problem is I need to set the background colour of that form field to white so that it covers the old logo in the event that the new image is smaller than the old logo..

The problem with this is that the background colour of the field is set to white and the image then doesn't appear.. i remove the SetFieldProperty and RegenerateField commands and the image replacement works fine.is there a way to set a stacking order on layers?

I need to convert fdf files to pdf in asp.net using vb. I found some code that I'm trying to learn from. What I would like to do is upload the fdf file and then output a pdf to a directory and email it out. The fdf files are coming from a shared linux/php host (using the php fdf functions is all I can do here on this host) that are emailed to a central inbox. I'm going to pick up the files from the inbox and upload them to a win/asp.net box to convert to pdf.The code i found is below.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to export gridview (HTML Based) to a pdf in asp.net+vb.net (backend). When I click on the Export to PDF button the download window shows, but when you click on open Adobe reader will open but displays the message
" Adobe Reader Could not open 'test[1].pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded) ".
The coding for export to pdf is same for 5 different reports of which 4 are working fine, as well as export to Excel is also working fine for all 5 reports. Does it have any relation with the itextsharp dll version? (I am using itextsharp version 3.1.1.0)
