Basically im trying to add 4 new picture boxes everytime a specific text changes. This is a picture developer based off the binary of a number 1 - 10 I can get 4 to change everytime the text changes but i have no idea how to add 4 everytime the text changes. here is the coding i have so far.

it should count the number of time the "toss" button is pressed and display that number as welli also need to add a flip module that doesn't take arguments and displays false for tails and true for heads, but i'm stuck
I have some operations of Picture Boxes etc being performed. After the user finishes with the formatting, I want to give the user an option to print the work.But its the work is not done on the Rich Text Box but on picture boxes. I am not even sure, how many of the picture boxes would be there after the user finishes the job, since I have provided option for dynamically creating picture boxes as well.

When I turn this into a loop to create multiple toolboxes, how do I assign a name to the controls, or will all of them be named "MyTextBox" ? I'll increment their position so thats no problem.
I'm creating an application that works like a recipe box. it has a picture box that is in the design of an index card, and it has 3 text boxes. I am having extreme difficulty saving the text boxes with the picture. i am using a database so that the info can be filtered, by recipe name, course description (appetizer, side dish...etc).

am having a big problem trying to make a program that will add multiple text boxes together.What I need to do is add all the text boxes together. If it is less then three leave it alone, if it is more then three then put a 10% discount on it. There are also other charges but the main thing I'm struggling with is adding the text boxes.

I have a problem that I can not seem to get. I have a program that moves a picture to what ever location the user puts into the text boxes. It works as I wanted it to but my problem is when a user puts in anything but a number into the text box it gives an error, I want a message to pop up and let them know that a numbers needs to be entered not a text.

View 2 RepliesA simple database has been created in Access, which is just basically a table of text, with some images as entries. A form has been created in VB2008 Express and linked to the database. Either a combibox, text boxes or pictureboxes are linked to a column form the database. The first row entries are all displayed correctly in the relavant boxes (except for the images, which for some reason aren't displayed). If another value in the comibox is selected, the other box values don't change and there is still no images visible...

I'm writing a database program that will take various information from the user via text boxes, then save them as a *.txt file. I've already figured out the majority of that business. However, I'm having trouble programming a ListBox.
The ListBox needs to accept three pieces of information from 3 Text Boxes, then concantenate them when a button labeled 'Add' is pressed and scoot them to the ListBox (lstshowresults) while clearing the three boxes at the same time.

I need to know if it is possible to set (as I am going to put in after only if it is possible) a time delay, e.g. If a user gets the username and or password wrong 3 times it will disable for lets say 10 seconds, then after another two attempts for a minuet.

What i am looking to do is to be able to save/load all the values filled into a form. For example The user has entered the
name: "Tim"
address: "123 Fake Street"
phone: ""
And then saves. When the come back and load this i want to be able to load it back exactly like that so the can continue with what they are doing. And if there are to open a different person they can continue with that one where they stopped. I want to be able to save them all at once and load them at once.
Using the datetime function to determine lapse time. (Subtracting one from another.) Then placing the answer into two text boxes one with the date and one with the time, later to be placed in a database as two seperate fields. Was thinking I could convert the date/time to a string if necessary then use simple stringmanipulation.... however fear it won't be good programming and will effect resources and end program speed.

View 10 RepliesI have VS 2008 and use VB, not C#/C++ or whatever else. I'm trying to make a battleship game, and I've decided to use the only method I can think of to control the grid. A 2D boolean array for position marking. I have the array set up, and the grid set up in the design form, but I can't figure out with all my research how to link them together. I'm writing this program to shake off the rust before school starts again, and for fun. I took VB in school last year, a half year class, so I have a foundation, now I'm self-educating myself above and beyond the class. I've searched for a way to use a picture box array to use the coordinates of the ship to .Visible=True the picture boxes. I've been working on this for 2 days straight with no results. I just need a little nudge in the right direction. The exception I've been getting with my latest concoction of code is NullReferenceException was Unhandled. I think its referring to the fact that I have no idea how to link the picture boxes into the array. Here's my code, and I'll comment where the exception is thrown:

I am trying to follow the book 'Sams teach yourself VB 2008'. It was going well until the end of hour 4. For exercise 1 I have created the form with a button and two text boxes, but cannot work out the code I need to move text between the two boxes. The Object Browser does not seem to help - am I reading it wrong?

I don't know if you can tell what I am trying to do here, so I will try to explain. I what to create for random numbers and place them into for different text boxes. I also would like to do this with combo boxes and their selected indexes. So if the combo box has 10 items in it; the new selected index would be the random number generated above.

This involves the customer giving the employee information such as name, address, postcode etc and the employee inputting that information into text boxes and combo boxes that are in the application.
What I would like to be able to do is after the customers information is given over the phone, I need to be able to send that information to a database which will probably most likely be done by button click. In this case, I'm using Microsoft Access. I'm also hoping that I can do this within Visual Basic coding.
The database is set out with multiple tables which include a customer table and a ticket table and both have multiple fields such as first name, surname in the customers table. Both of these tables are in use with the information that the customer gives over the phone.

I'm trying to create an animation with 5 picture boxes (labeled picturebox0 - picturebox4) but I have a specific order I want them to display. I made 5 picture boxes, added images to them, and stack them on top of each other.
I want the order to show this: picturebox 0, 1, 4, 3, 2, 4, 2, 3, 1, 3... etc
The code I have using if-else statements which would work if I wanted to repeat the same display pattern but I need to manually right the pattern... I have at timer set to change the pictures every 2.5 seconds.

I need an indexed set of picture boxes. The number, n, of these objects is determined at run-time.Migrating from VB6!! I had used the load command n times to create a control array from a "seed" picture box. In code the individual pictureboxes are accessed as formula(k), where formula was the name of the control array and k is an integer. Examples can be seen at url... the chemical formulae, Ni2+ etc., are draggable picture boxes (curve captions if you like), so that they can be placed wherever the user wants.How can I implement something similar in VB.NET?
View 9 RepliesI want to creat a photo hunt for 6-8th grades summer computer camp. all I want to do is have them change the image in paint, then load the two images in picture boxes on a form. When I create the ovals to identify the differences in the images, they automatically are behind the picturebox.I can't figure out how to get the ovals to be in front of the picture box. I click the picture box and say send to back but the ovals are still behind the picture boxes. There is no right click on the ovals to send to the front. there has to be a simple answer for this. I also tried putting the images on the background but when I make the ovals invisible, they are not clickable and I cant set the border to 0.This was a no brainer in vb6.0
