I have my app that does some complicated function and adds some values to an array, but then later I need to access the strings, I have the index number but not the string so how can I find that string again?
View 2 RepliesI am trying to run an event which will search through the different files in a given directory. The goal is to have it search for all files that begin with 'SP_', which are .sql files containing Stored Procedures. I would then like to add the full text of these Procedures to an array to be used later. This is causing an error when run, which I believe is because 'FullProcedureArray()', the string array I am trying to load does not have defined boundaries. When I declare it as 'FullProcedureArray(7)', or with some other value, it appears to run fine. But I don't want to have to hard-code a boundary for 'FullProcedureArray'; I would rather let it be defined by whatever the number of files in the folder is.
My question: Is there a way to declare 'FullProcedureArray' without having to give it an absolute value? I may just be missing something painfully obvious, but I haven't worked with this type of array much in the past.

When I implement this code, the first time the button is activated, the values are placed in the array, and displyed in the list box. However if the user then selects more days and times to add to the list box, and activates the button again, the previously added entries in the array are erased, and only the new entries are displayed. How can I prevent previous entries from being erased? If the user wants to add values, they need to be added to the existing values.[code]

I am trying to create a simple Word doc that when the user presses the button it takes the information in the boxes and tosses it into a template style paragraph. But my issue is that I have two combo list boxes as seen in the picture. I want to have two values in the drop down list as seen in the labels next to them but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do this in Word 2007. In Visual Studio this is much easier but I am work and need to snap this out for the folks at work. Is there an option that I can choose in the properties where I type in the values for each drop down or do I have to add them in at run time?
View 1 RepliesI have a function where I have to add two values (declared as string) on two different pages, So Iam bringing one value from one page to the second page where I have second value and adding both of them to display the result in a label. But I am not able to do that. eg: 1st value is 4.20 ( both values are time in seconds) and 2nd value is 0.34 then I want the result as 4.54( instead I am gettign the result as 4.24.0.34 , So can anyone tell me how to add these two ..My code is attached.

This seems really wrong, as the value seems to be held in the partial class after the first run. So if I have two users accessing the class the public shared dim is changed for both users! There must be a better way to do this. I have looked everywhere and I'm more confused now than when I started off..How can I make QuoteStatus in the partial class unique to every user and access it from my code.
I am working on a program where specific strings are being read from a file and displayed in a listview. Some of the strings represent money values though the file has no decimal points. I would like to add a decimal point before the last 2 digits of prices, quantities, and freights when displayed in the listview (not add two decimal places but actually insert the decimal point into the string). I would like to be able to keep most of the code I already have though, and I have no clue how to accomplish this. Here is the code I am using to fill the listview:

Notice the 2 quotes in bold above. I need to add (return false) so the browser won't scroll to the top of the page when the text label (#) is not found.

A brief about the foundation of the program: I have created a VB2010 Windows Form application that connects to a Microsoft Access database. A datagridview is used to show all the data of the database. Then, a filter is used to filter the dataview (the BindingSource actually) and show the filtered db's data.
Let's say this is how I filter my BindingSource:
MyBindingSource.Filter = " price > '110' "
This would cause the dataGridView to filter the data (correctly), and let's say 10 rows are now displayed. What I am trying to do now is to get the sum of the values of one column of these new data. For example each of the 10 rows have a 'price' column which contains a double value. I would need the sum of these *filtered* values.
I found on the Internet that I may be able to transform the BindingSource into a DataTable and I could, but now I don't know how to access the values inside this!
I have an array of people stored in a custom structure array... how can i copy this array to a temp array so that the temp array has all the same values as the original custom array?
View 4 RepliesI can retreive all items in my notepad but when I am adding them up in my listbox, and trying to print them in the console. I can only display two strings. I don't know why. My string is a combination of a name, space & score. ex: "luke 300". That is the pattern of all strings per line in my text file. I am separating the name and the score using space as the indicator. When ever a space is found, string before and after the space is retrieved and added to the listbox
