Highlight DataGridView Rows Based On A Columns Value?

Jan 27, 2012

I want to change the row color of every row in my DataGridView where a particular column value = "RBF3". I am currently using the DataBindingComplete event which seems to work fine, but it fires every time I change a cells value. I'd like for this bit of code to only fire when the datagridview is first displayed, sorted, or filtered. Is this possible?

da.Fill(ds.CallwithName)
Dim dv As New DataView(ds.CallwithName)

It works ok when filter is on other fields but brings empty on 'CallDate' date field. I have declared the 'CallDate' field in db as long date format in Access.

C# - Limit Number Of Rows That Can Be Entered In A Datagridview Based On Property Of DGV?

Feb 24, 2010

I have a UI that uses datagridviews / bindingsource / datatables of typed dataset for data entry. The dataset itself is serialized to a varbinary(max) in SQL. (i.e. no tableadapter, backend schema).I would like to limit the number of rows the user can enter into some of the grids (the data is used to fill PDF forms and I don't want them entering more rows than the forms can accomodate.).I have subclassed the datagridview, added a rowlimit property and tried to manipulate the AllUsertoAddRows property

Imports System.Windows.Forms
Public Class dgv
Inherits System.Windows.Forms.DataGridView[code]......

The behavior I see is that the messagebox comes up after leaving the max row even when the user is trying to leave the grid. I can lose the messagebox and deal with notification some other way but I thought someone else may have come up with something a little more sophisticated to handle simply causing attempting to add to many records to navigate out of the grid to the next UI control.

Arrays And Adding Rows In A Datagridview?

Sep 4, 2009

I have an unbound datagridview, the datagridviews columns count may very depending on how many are needed like so

For i = 1 To myColumn
Dim RP As DataGridViewColumn = New DataGridViewCheckBoxColumn
RP.AutoSizeMode = DataGridViewAutoSizeColumnMode.None

[Code]...

The problem with this is that it puts everything in the first column instead of each column.

What I was trying was to have it place each value into its own column.

VS 2010 - Adding Rows To Bottom Of DataGridView

Feb 1, 2012

I am trying to insert an initial line (0) into a datagridview (named params). The program will then read each cell in that row, pass them through a function and return values be placed into the next line (1). This will continue until one of the parameters reaches some set point. The problem that I am having is that when I try to insert a new line, it appears above the initial one and not below it like I would like it to.

Here's my code so far:
Private Sub HurricaneWinds_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
Dim init_xrange() As Double = New Double() {0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 40.0, 0.0}

Adding/removing Datagridview Columns Based On A Combobox?

Oct 26, 2011

The user picks x amount of scenarios from the combobox, and x amount of columns appear in the datagridview. If the user changes the number of columns from x amount to y amount, the columns should be added/removed respectively but currently when y amount is chosen x amount of columns are in the datagridview.

I'm not sure how to do this, I've tried using an IF statement under the .SelectedIndexChanged event but the code adds columns until it reaches as high as it can go, then pulls an error saying too many columns.

I want to add rows inbetween the gridview rows based on the parent and Child Nodes. If i expand the First Parent Node Called "31" then according to the Number of Child Nodes (for first parent node(31) there are 5 child nodes.) add rows in the gridview.

These New rows should be add under the 31-xxxx. If i expand the 32 Parent Node based on number of Child Nodes, add rows under the 32-xxxx. [Code] I am getting the rows in the end of the Gridrow not in the Specific row.

WinForms : "Not Responding" When Adding Rows To Datagridview?

Feb 20, 2012

I've got a method that makes a request to a service that queries an SQL database, and then adds the result of the query in a datagridview row. I call that method in a "for each" loop.

It looks like this:

For each item in BigListContainingHundredofItems
Dim rowdata As String = GetRowResult(item, SomeDatabaseConnectionString)
Datagridview1.Rows.Add(rowdata)
Next

Basically hundreds of inputs are sent to the "for each" loop, and the way I've written it now it becomes "Not Responding" until all the rows have been added to the form (I can see the scrollbar handle size shrinking, which means rows are getting added). But I'd like to know how to keep everything responsive, and I think multi-threading or background worker thread might be the solution. I just wanted to get some input/feedback from the community.

Way To Create Empty Data Table / Update Its Contents Based On Columns Not Add Data Based On Addition Of New Rows

Apr 6, 2011

I am creating a project in VB.NET in which one of the reports require that the name of employees should be displayed as column names and whatever work they have done for a stated period should appear in rows below that particular column. Now as it is clear, the columns will have to be added at runtime. Am using an ODBC Data source to populate the grid. Also since a loop will have to be done to find out the work done by employees individually, so the number of rows under one column might be less or more than the rows in the next column. Is there a way to create an empty data table and then update its contents based on columns and not add data based on addition of new rows.

MySQL Count Rows Count Rows And Gain Access To Other Information In A Row Based On Provoided Information

Oct 8, 2009

I have a fair bit of experience with VB.NET and C# (In this case I chose VB.NET, blame my laziness), but I do most of my professional work using PHP. I have no experience what so ever in using any database with VB.NET let alone MySQL.Just FYI, at the moment I am only trying to Query the database to gather the information required to activate. The Activation wizard and algorithm building (which is finished anyway), and everything else will come soon. I chose the MySQL database because I have experience with it, and it seems the best option for remote usage. The whole idea already works in PHP, I'm just have major issues moving it accross into VB.NET (Using the MySQL Connector.NET);I understand the basics, and all I need to know how to do is Count Rows and gain access to the other information in a row based on provoided information (in PHP, through mysql_ result)

So, here goes nothing, this is the Query code I am using in PHP to complete the job I want to do in VB.NET. [code] As you can see, I basically need to get the PHP code into VB.NET to fit into the 'btnQueryDB.Click' Command in VB.NET. By Equivalent, the Product ID in VB.NET will come from 'txtPID' and similar, Serial Number will come from txtSNUM. Once counted to be 1, the Activation Code and Status will be fed into 2 other text boxes in the form. (acCode, and acStatus).
