Allow User To Move A Top Form Within The Boundary Of A Bottom Panel Or Form?
Jun 30, 2009
I have one form lays on the top of a form or a panel. I would like be able to drag the top form within the boundary of the bottom form or panel. How can I do that?
I am trying a little demo project to create my own Caption Bar. Basically i have a form with a panel docked to the top.
You can use the mouse to drag the panel around (which moves the forum) Problem is the cursor is always located in the upper top left. I am trying to move the form around but to leave the cursor at the point it is currently at on the panel
My code so far is below
#Region "Point Variables" Dim LOC_Form As New Point(0, 0) #End Region
[Code]....
I am dragging the panel from the middle, but the form moves to the cursor point. I have tried calculations like Cursor Position - Form Location etc but cant get it right
I developed a User Control Like as combo Box. But i Can't Show its list in Out side of the Form Boundary..how can make the user control out side of the FORM Boundary like as ComboBox, Date Control etc.... Pls Code in VB6
I have a form displayed in my app and what I want to do is detect when the user clicks outside of the form and close it, however I am not sure how to do this?
For a while i have been playing a guessing game with this line of code.
If Sdown = True And Shooter.Top >= Me.ClientRectangle.Height Then Shooter.top += Shooterspeed End If
Basically i have a shooter on the form and whenever i press the down key the shooter moves down the form and disappears off of the bottom of the form. I have been trying to get this to stop for some while.
My image is inside the panel, I set up a if-statement for the boundary which it can only be moved. When I tried to run it, it looks crappy when the mouse has panned it outside the boundary. Here is my code for panning:
If (mouse.Button = Windows.Forms.MouseButtons.Left) Then Dim mousePosNow As Point = mouse.Location Dim deltaX As Integer = mousePosNow.X - mouseDowns.X
I have a ScreenCapture class that allows me to capture the content of the screen by specifying a X Y value of the top left and X Y value of the bottom right corner of a rectangle. This all works fine, however the problem that I have is that I want to capture the content of a panel on a form, the panel obviously has a location X and Y which gives me the top left position and I can use the width and height propoerty of the panel to determine the bottom right position. The problem that I have is this obviously gives me location of the panel on the form and not the screen. The other problem that I have is that this form is a MidiChild for another form.
So basically what I want to know is how can I get the location of the panel but as a screen position?
i have the following code sliding from the bottom of the main form position to the middle of the main form.
main form Dim Viewform2 As New Form2
[Code]...
no code, just a form thats width 292 and height 266 This code works but its very choppy when the slider form slides up. Also, i am unable to get the opacity correct as well where it fades in and then out when it leaves.
i have my main child form open. then i show the new form:
[Code]...
but when the form opens it flickers a lot. so i want move the new form behind the main form while it loads so the user does not see the flicker. once it is done loading i will set the form to topmost. how do i move the new form behind the main form?
I have made two forms lets say form1 and form2 and i want form2 to be shown at the bottom of form1 always even when i move form1 and i want it to be visible only when mouse is moving.
well i successfully docked a perpixel alpha form with the main form(form1). but the perpixel alpha form always appears at the top left corner of the screen and when i move the main form the form(perpixel alpha form) inside it dosen't move it stays at the top left corner. ALWAYS. to dock the perpixel alpha form i used
What is the best way to resize & move a form using just VB commands? I have a form that I need to set the Height and Top props, problem is that takes two calls and there is a noticable flicker. I tried using SuspendLayout/ResumeLayout, DoubleBuffered, swaping the top and height calls around, etc, but nothing seems to help. The test forms only have one small listview and one or two buttons. [Code]
I have a table with many fields when I drag the details from the data sources tab to the form some fields do not show, and they go beyond what I can grab with a "blind group select" (I marquee beyond the bottom of the form and catch fields that I cannotsee). What can I do to place all fields on my form.
I want to add a MDI parent form to a panel on a base form, the problem is that i must set the toplevel = false when add the parent form to the base form, but if i set its toplevel to false i can't set isMDIParent parameter to true. how can i fix this conflict?
I'd like to build a class where I always have a button at the bottom of a form. Then when I drag and drop the button, It has to make a copy of that button called "button1", if I drag and drop the button again I'll have another button called "button2" and so on.But If I drag and drop the "button1" or "button2" they shouldn't duplicate as the original. And this is the problem I can't sort out.
This is my class:
Imports System.Windows.Forms Imports System.Drawing Public Class frmTablesEditor Inherits Form
