Aug 20, 2010I have just done my program, just skeleton not completely, the final problem has not been solved up to this time.When I run my application, the Icon of its will be showed at TaskTray. I would like the icon is there when I exit fom of application and then If I double click on the Icon, the application will be showed.

FormClosing And Application.Exit Is Causing The MessageBox To Ask If Want To Exit Twice
Jun 12, 2007I'm having a bit of a problem getting my application to close properly. Basically I have one main form from which all other forms open. If a user tries to close that main form, I want to bring up a MessageBox asking if they want to exit the application.However, when I try to do that it asks the question twice. It seems that the Application.Exit() is triggering the FormClosing event again for some reason, but I don't know of another way to exit the application. BTW, the main form isn't the startup form so I can't use the option to close when the startup form closes.

Nov 24, 2010We currently have +- 20 different console application developed in VS2008 and running at different scheduled intervals, all controlled by Windows schedular. The problem we have come accross is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage and maintain these console apps. In some instances a console app will just fail or never run to start with and this creates a lot of problems. In many cases one console app is dependant on another and if 1st one fails well...you see where this is going.
I am looking for a new solution that will help us to trace, debug and manage these console apps better. We are preferably looking for a gui front end, maybe windows app where we can set the intervals for them to sun and view some error reports if they did not run.We are port all the code for the console apps to which ever new appliocation we develop.

Now is from Microsoft.VisualBasic.DateAndTime
Today.date is also from System.DateTime

May 8, 2009My company is in the process of analyzing how to convert and upgrade an application that was written in Microsoft Office Access 2003. Recently we purchased Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.
The first step we'll probably take will be to convert the Access data to Microsoft SQL. Is there a recommended way of doing that? What should be done with the VBA code?
The second step we're not sure about. We're wondering in we should develop all new software in VB or that we should still use VBA, if possible, after the data has been converted to SQL.

Jul 4, 2011I have a situation with an application of mine where I noticed I get a different result when the application is installed in comparison to it running in Visual Studio. If the application is installed a certain aberration pops up in this computer graphics application at a certain point in one of the screens but if I run the same group of settings or you could say the same "screen" running the application from Visual Studio I don't see the aberration ever happen. I tried deleting the bin and obj folders and then rebuilding before creating an installation and it doesn't change anything and whether I use InstallShield or create an installation using ClickOnce I still see the same issue. I have Enable application framework unchecked but found it makes no difference checked or unchecked

The program is intended to be a lightweight version of a larger program, intended to perform a couple of very specific tasks without requiring all the initialization required in the larger program.To this end, I am planning on using Me.Startup in applicationevents to process the command line options and determine if the Startup form should be displayed or not. In the case where the startup form should not be displayed, what is the method to close the application from within Me.Startup Application.Exit, Me.Close, and others are not available from within Me.Startup. My searches online have shown that I can use e.ApplicationExit() from Me.UnhandledException, but this method is also not available from Me.Startup.if anyone has any better ideas on how to accomplish what I am trying to do, those comments are always welcome.
