Application That Can Manipulate Images For Program?

Basically functionality i need is:
easy integration with ASP.NET application.user ability to crop image with handle prior to save image optimization from any image type to jpg (compression levels) during the save saving images with proper h/w ratios during the save user ability to rotate the image prior to save ability to translate application to foreign language as it won't be used on international site
I want to save medical images that means scanned images,x-rays and other medical images , so how to save these images in my project by using vb.net windows application. And my database is Oracle 10g.
I was thinking to make an app to save images [or download images] to local hard disk. But to keep it easy, I want this app to create a small picturebox on form to show the thumbnail of downloaded image. Lets say a 5 pictureboxes has to be added with the thumbnails to show the recent downloads. A user can save the location where he wants to save the files on hard disk. A listbox or a dropdown menu will help in categorizing the images, like image1 in friends section, image2 in family section, image3 in others, etc... When the program restarts all the latest 5 thumbnails has to be loaded in pictureboxes and the directory that was chosen. Finally, a button that shows the downloaded images into original image file size one by one or a slide show. Is it possible to make such program?
Basically I want to know how to access a particular website from my application. I have used System.Net Namespace to request HTML from a website, It returns a complete HTML code which is used by Browsers to render the content on the screen but what i want is to interact with the website only without the use of a browser. I currently dont know how to do that.
I have a application which displays a Image when a user enters a keyword, lets say user enters a word "Envelope", the application will go to Google Images and search for this keyword. Now google returns images as results, the application now needs to download the first result ( which is a image) and display it on a form ). Everything here is done without a browser but via my application.
I am trying to manipulate files as part of a Document Management application that stores documents in a location on a Network Drives. But the My.Computer.FileSystem.Drives collection does not contain the Network Drives mapped on my machine. I have about half-a-dozen of these, but none of them seem to show up in the Drives collection and thus are not visible to the other FileSystem functionality I need to use for file management.
how to make sure the Drives collection contains all my drives? I am running VS2010 Premium edition on Windows 7 64-bit on a 64-bit Dell machine.
I have a number of image files name image1.gif image2.gif image3.gif etc upto image52.gif
I want to display an image in a picturebox dependant upon a value wich is generated elsewhere in the app, so that if '3' is generated I a picturebox to display image3.gif
if 2 is generated image2.gif. However I have 52 such images to be displayed in 16 picture boxes so I was wondering
if there is a more efficient way than a select case method for each image and each picture box.
I'd like to make a simple VB utility to resize images using vb.net. I am having trouble figuring out what vb class to use to actually manipulate the images. The Image class and the Bitmap class don't work.
Is it possible to insert vector images (ecw or ai) in an VB.NET application? If so...is it possible to zoom in on them and keep the same precision? I'm trying to create a very basic GIS system and I need to zoom in on some places.
I have written an application in which, among other things, there is a picture browser, allowing the user to load and look at pictures (jpeg-type). So I thought it would be nice if they could print their nice pictures too. And here is where all my problems started. I've tried almost all the code examples given to me, but none works. Isn't that strange?
I want:
a) The user will click the print button and the print dialogue will appear and thus enable him or her to choose wich printer to use
b) When the choice is made, click OK or PRINT or WHATEVER and the picture/photo will appear on a piece of paper which they can frame and hang on the wall or where ever
Yes I'm sounding sarcastic, and that is because I'm tired from lack of sleep, trying to make this happen. And I only have a few days to complete everything. To make it worse I haven't even started on the part where they are able to print text from textboxes on a form... Oh My God. for some reason I though printing something from an application would be the easy task when it comes to programming in VB. I was obviously wrong. It happens from time to time.
I'm in the middle of making a program launcher. I've been able to make a version of it before, but now I want to add more options for viewing the shortcuts. The 2 main views I'm trying to get are: Icon only and Icon with the name.
Here is my original code for only the name: VB.NET Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load 'Start bottom right of screen Dim working_area As Rectangle = _ SystemInformation.WorkingArea [Code] .....
I have switched over to a listview because I assume that's what i will need in order to show images. So I guess my first question will be how do I get only the icon from each file and then show it in the listview.
i am trying to make an application that loads images from the internet (from my FTP Server). The problem is that when i want to change the image by selecting another image from a ComboBox control my application becomes non-respondive.When the image is loaded the application works properly again.
I tried to move that in a separate thread so instead
I am trying to load bulk images and trying to put them as a slideshow and it's working fine. Now I would like to have some effects like flip out, ease out effect and fade effect on those images when changing them without using any user control as I would like to do with the existing picturebox. Is it possible to do so?
If so can anyone point me to some resources. As I have done googling and found some useful links and I am placing here that might helpful to someone. And all these have use seperate usercontrols to do, and I am not looking into that.[URL]..

I have a windows application.I am binding datagridview with a dataset which contains values from database. In dataset onecolumn is status. It contains values as 1 or 2 or 3 like wise integers. If value is 1 instead of displaying 1 i want to bind image 1.jpg from Images folder, and instead of displaying 2 i want to bind image 2.jpg likewise.
How can we embed images (for picturebox controls) within an application so that a specifiic directory does not have to be accessed in order to display the image?
I want to package and deploy windows app which has images in allimages folder, resource folder is also generated that refers to all images in my vs 2008 application.I have calc.exe in debug folder.I tried deploying using setup project that uses windows installer, when i run application some images r not seen and error is generated.whatt r exact steps to package and deploy winform application in vs2008.
I have a stack of 2D dicom images and want to convert to a 3D object using VB.NET. I suppose I can solve it using openGL but any clue would help a lot. Do you know a free (or at least cheap) pack to do it?
I am just wondering if there is any DLLs or features in VB.Net 2008 that I could use to parse a picture of text to text (for example, a screenshot), assuming the text are in very recognizable format (i.e., not like CAPTCHA type of text).
i want to put text/images in a window i choose im useing this code to put text into notepad
Imports WindowsApplication1.Class1 Public Class Form1 Private Sub Display_Loop(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim hWnd As IntPtr = WinApi.FindWindowA("notepad", Nothing)
[code]....
but it is a blinky and doesn't look good at all just keeps Bliking and mix's with stuff is there a better way to put text into a window ? and is there a way i can put images ?
I am building a windows application with different languages, when I change the language of a form visual basic will create a new form for me which i can change the settings for my new language and all was working fine, but recently i recognized that the images i am changing in the other language form is changing the images in the default language form, so i need to create two Resources Folders for images and manaully tells the application which folder to use.
I am making a program that takes pictures of the webbrowser control on a set timer and save them in a picturebox.. I then use backgroundworkers to check the images against others stored in the program. My issue is, the backgroundworkers do not properly check the images against the ones I have stored in the program.Could this be because the images and picturebox are stored on the main thread, and no in a background worker? In other words, I am taking picture from my webbrowser and putting them in my picturebox. Then, I am comparing them with images already in the images. The only problem is, the workers are unable to properly compare the images.
