How can i avoid multiple log into the application at the same time from different locations? If one user is logged in and the other user uses the same ID and PW to log in then he/she will not able to log in.

When I try to login from a different location(and I mean thousands of miles away) I can't get it to log in. My computer is on a router - is that the issue here?.

I recently designed a web application using VB.Net and tried to copy a folder (containing multiple files) from one disk drive to another but unfortunately I didn't succeed.I tried using a file upload but that is only for single/multiple file selection however I want to select a complete folder instead of multiple files.

View 7 RepliesWe have several VB.NET websites running internal applications. These sites are often modified with minor changes, and are maintained on the server as uncompiled code. I'm looking for the best way to maintain classes so that we can reference them from multiple websites.
Specifically, we're looking to put some common functions (error logging, common database calls, etc.) into a centralized location where they can be maintained separately from the sites and called as needed. And we'd prefer to have this on the server as uncompiled code, so it can be uploaded without precompiling. I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but what is the best way to set this up?
I am wanting to build a menu from multiple xml files in a central location this will be to help with adding crystal reports after application has been deployed to an end user.I am able to get the list of all the xml files in a folder it is just the adding the ReportName to the different menu buttons i have set up.

I have this code. credits to jmchiney. My goal is when I press a certain key, the picturebox corresponding to that key should be moved to a certain location. Exactly like in the text twist game.
I have a code running and doing what I want but It is only applicable for single letter. For example the word alabama. all letters without duplicates are placed properly but for letter a, only one letter a is being accepted and moved. that goes for all letters.

Another one. when a certain letter is already placed to the location I set and once I press again the same letter, the location changes. What I want is when I already gave pictureboxA a location and then I press "a" which correspond to pictureboxA again it should be stationary and check if there are other letter "a" in my pictureboxes and move the next detected letter "a" to the next position. Like i said. just like text twist game.

Basically, it works improperly when try to log in on one web-site (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site). I am working with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I created a simple WebBrowser trying to access the indicated web-site. The problem begins. Well, the website loads, but when you go to the login page (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site) and try to log in, it doesn't work. I mean, when I enter the login details the login page just refreshes itself and the login wasn't proceed. The same login page appear with every login attempt. Then I need to show which date/time ranges overlap each of those intersecting sections. It is slightly more complicated than that so I'll do my best to explain by providing an example. i am using an unbound datagridview so i can dynamiclly add rows. all that is working fine. but the grid is not is the location i have coded.. i am using the defualt form as a base then coding the unbound stuff in.. should i just create a blank class file and do everything? the only problem i am having is the grid must bees in the correct location according to the pixel point that i have given it. Right now it is placing the grid at point (0,0) no matter what point is entered on the line for location. so what am i missing??????

I have 2 group box components and both are same size,font,location and visible is false. When i click button2, the groupbox1 won't appear(the group box2 is on bottom n group box1 is on top).

we have a user that my program works fine for.. and another that it just crashes for.. they get this error

I was using this old method of creating a bunch of rectangles when I need to get the location of a certain point within a grid so I could draw images on the grid. The thing is, I don't want to use rectangles, I want to be able to just round the location as if I were using rectangles. I need it to be able to round the point (66,70) to (50,50) so if you can imagine a grid and the mouse position being within that square in the grid, I need to get the location of the upper left corner of that square.
View 5 RepliesI have encounterd a problem when trying to re-enstall a program i have writen in vb 2008.I get the following message:"You cannot start application Shell from this location because it is already installed from a different location."This program is to be used on many workstation computers and i need to be able to update any changes by just reinstalling the program, no uninstalling needed first. If the program was installed from a cd first and needs to be updated from a flash disk this error will be a problem, if the update is from a cd as well then there is no problem.Is there a way to change the installation package to ignore where the program installs from and just update itself?

I created a SQL DB named MainDB.mdf and a small VB 2010 application with some forms and datasets.Everything was working OK until i got a new computer and re-installed Visual Studio 2010 and SQL server 2010 on it. I copied my DB from the old to the new computer and also copied by VB 2010 project to it. I used Windows Authentication to connect to the DB in the old computer and also in the new one, i am using different Windows user account names though.
I was able to connect to the DB in the new computer in the Server Explorer section, i created a new connection string to the DB and i can seed there is data in the tables. When i run my VB 2010 application created in the old computer get error:
"Cannot open database "MainDB" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'D630Admin'."
I need to get rid of that error and be able to add/mod/del data from my DB using my VB application as i used to.
