Using the Windows Media Player control that I called, AxWindowsMediaPlayer1 com is it possible in VB.Net to start playing a track from a certain point of time?
So I have a 5 min track, but I want to start playing it from 3min 33secs for example.
how do you pass a pause and un-pause to the control?
I need a function for my new project, the application I'm making for the PC is going to communicate with a PIC through USB. The problem I'm having is that I can't find a way for my .NET application to get the song that is currently playing like MSN can. I've been searching alot all over google but all I get is "how to play music in vb.net" and that is not what I'm looking for.

I'm currently using windows media for mp3 playback how ever i do not understand why the command "AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.Ctlcontrols.play()" doesn't start playback immediatly. I've been over this so many time in the last few days i think i've just confused my self.
Over view of how it works... Form2 updates 1 list box with the path and 1 with the Artist & track, it then invokes the PlayMusic procedure (subroutine) on form1. However it will not begin playback until it has done all its jumpig around, gone back to form2 and closed it. Only then will playback begin.

i have put Form1.AxWindowsMediaPlayer1 in Form1 to play when program start.And when i press button to open me new form (Form2) i made Form1.AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.close()To stop the sound to start the music from the Form2 media player
And here is mine problem how to make Form2 button "Close" that close Form2 Me.Close() and to have Form1.AxWindowsMediaPlayer1 to start music again or resume it?

i have a picturebox which displays a map i have 2 modes add point and delete point when the user clicks the picture it creates a point on the picture where the user has clicked that works perfectly its when i try and delete the point when it doesent work :/ i have all the points loading from an xml file this is the code i have:

I'm trying to calculate the direction between two points on a two-dimensional grid. Actually I want to determine if that vector is within a range of two values. Suppose the grid's origin is 0,0 at the upper left corner, and 0 degrees represents north. I have a point A on that grid. I want to know if a line from point A to point B on the grid is within a range of directions between 111.8 degrees (a little south of east) and 158.2 (a little east of south). Those are approximations; the 111.8 is 90 degrees plus the arctangent of 2/5, and 158.2 is 180 minus that value. I worked out a series of calculations worthy of a medieval astronomer, but I suspect there is a simpler way. I'm going to have to do this for a variety of other vectors, and I'd like to generalize

I've ended up with this code after putting together what I've tried, what I've learned elsewhere, and a couple of posts I've read on here.
All I want to do is move the ellipse from one point to the other along a straight line that forms the angle between the two points (X1,Y1) and (X2,Y2), make it grow from 2 pixels at it's start, to about 80 pixels by the time it reaches half way, then shrink from 80 pixels back down to 2 pixels by the time it reaches the point (X2,Y2).
Easier said than done.

I have an ASP.NET application with a SQL Server back end. I am storing all my dates in UTC format and doing the appropriate conversions to the local time zone of the browser viewing it. One of the pages asks for a start date and end date (no times).
I am taking the start date and setting the time to 00:00:00 hours (midnight) and I'm taking the End time and adding a time of 23:59:59, so that the date range covers the whole day. Now what I'm trying to do is do a SQL query to do a search for records in this date range. The problem is, the data in SQL is in UTC time and the user is typing their dates and times in their local date and times. My quickest solution was to convert the date and time to UTC, then search the records. However, by doing this, I am to believe ASP.NET converts the given time and date to UTC based on the server time zone. How can I convert a date and time to UTC time based on the time zone of the user?
