I'm adding text string into a list box together with data retrieved from text box, and I wanna bold that text but really don't have any idea how to do so.
E.g. listProducts.Items.Add("Product Name - " & textProdName.text)
I just wanna bold that first bit of text in the quotes.
I have a form that users record some event that is happening. They enter in what different things are occurring, for instance like a Basketball game. When certain events happen "steal", "score", "foul" these will get inputted to a listbox that records the whole game and is timestamped. However for these specific event i want them BOLD . So it would look something like
3:24 STEAL 3:25 #45 stole the ball, passed to #54
Or something like that. How do i get certain items to be bold?
I am donig some FindReplace in my app and I wanted to know if there was a way to bold the text that i'm "replacing".I've found other posts on Bolding text in a RichTextBox through a While loop but I wanted to do this in a string and the .Find is not an option for Strings.Here's my code sample:

I have a small program that talks to a server, grabs the content from a website using a php webscraping program and then places the results in a listbox as a string. My problem is taking this string and creating a list from it. Each item in the string is followed by a | (pipe). I have included the code that I've tried below:

the text file will contain html with an unknown number of lines
(the user will click a button to add a new line to the file, so the number of lines depends on the user

My problem with my project so please help me about I am enclosing my project with problem very simple but I can't found. I am using text box and listbox last two textbox i.e. txtlani and maskedtextbox.
Now the problem is when the user put the data into above mentioned two text boxes for the selected item of the list box I want to change the back color and If the user wish to leave blank that two text boxes then no change at all in the list box selected item.
In short that if Textbox leave blank then no change in the selected item back color if in the Textbox have some value than selected item back color change.[code]....

Several times av been come across of the need of how to create new variables on my application while is running and the next time i will run again the application to be existed in my source code and still be inside.
what excatly i mean is for example i have a listbox with out assigne it in any databound ,or retreive any items from any textbox i just want to insert some items inside
if i go from the designer then i can succesfully add any item i want and they will be there as i declare them.but if i want to to that programmatically i will be able to add them in the listbox but the next time i will run it again it will be lost.until i will select the command again to fill my listbox which is not what i want
in my case i have a datagridview which is running SQL querys and i want if the user selects to save this query i want from some way to save this query string in my listbox . and i want to be there the next time i will run my application with out using any text file or database,
is there any way to that ? i have search before i ask but obviusly my keywords dosen't much with what i was looking for

I would like to change for example the username or time date to a color or make it bold, could anyone tell me how to change ONLY that and not everything? I'd love to have such a thing as it makes the whole application way 'clearer'.
I am releasing a BETA version of my program, i have made it so on load, a webbrowser on another form goes to a text document on my website, but how can i get it so it reads the text and then it will know somehow if there is a new version avaliable?
View 2 RepliesI went and created a tab containing a good amount of controls, most of which are contained within what I'll just call the top-level group box. Now I decide I'd like the text of the top-level group box to be bold, but nothing else. When I set the top-level group box's font to bold, however, all of the controls contained within it become bolded as well, which is what I don't want. I can set each individual control's bold property to false, but it seems like there should be an easier way to do this.

the field Arm_No comes back a number 1-4. Arm_No is a field that is in the database. To make the table easier to read id like to bold the arm_no that come back 1 and 3.

View 1 RepliesI just couldn't find the right words to say it but, the thing is, I just want to make a certain word inside a paragraph bold. The word will be automatically set to bold in runtime. See for example the words 'John' shall be all set to bold.

the output of the above code is, it only makes the first occurence bold. All other word "John" are just set to Regular text when what I want is to make it all bold.
What is lacking? I used the "for each loop" to visit all the words.

View 2 RepliesI'm using My.Settings to store some text information which will be displayed to the user under certain conditions. What I'd like to know is whether part of the text (not all of it) can be formatted in bold?
The reason I'm storing in My.Settings is because it can be customized but not to the extent where I need to store it in a database. And while I'm at it, is it possible to format parts of MessageBox text and labels in bold, or is this an all or not at all situation i.e. changing the font property?
How can i change to bold a part of the label's text? e.g. "&Hello" will appear as: "Hello"
"Hello John" how can i make it appear as: "Hello John"?
