.NET 2010 Constant Errors - Bugs?
Jun 21, 2010I am getting these constant annoying errors in Visual Basic .NET 2010 Express. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, but these errors are always relating to images and resources The Type 'Global.ExampleProject.My.Resources.Resources' has no property named 'example.png'I am pretty sure these are bug, due to the fact that I get these errors after a while in most of my projects - it's absolutely annoying! Most solutions include removing the resources (commenting them out of the form designer code) and re-importing them... But then the problem comes back again after the project has been loaded a few times!
Microsoft suggest this is rather a user-related issue rather than a bug due to the fact that they can't reproduce the error.I'm still sticking to the belief of this being a bug - anyone get this error alot of the time?This is not the only bug I get - sometimes VB stops working when I try to build my projects!
Access 2003 Runtime Bugs For SUM()
Oct 14, 2009I stucked in trouble recently preparing for distrubute MS Access 2003 Application(mde) with 2003 runtime module.The function SUM() isn't work properly if a table has mulit rows. if mouse over the issued row, then it calculated.If update Office SP1,2,3, it works, which means MS already know the issue.My applcations is running with Access 2003 runtime all the time evenif user alredy have Office installed.Problem is that a user who has Office 2003 product and already updated Office SP, after installed our product, need to update again to fix runtime bugs. This is very weird for users becasue they somethimes need to install SP twice.

Feb 16, 2009When I downloaded VB 2005 Express I took advantage of the bundle of goodies on offer and downloaded SkinCrafter Light.I really like the four skins that come with SkinCrafter Light, and I am using one on my current project (example of the skin I am using here). However, SkinCrafter Light has a couple of bugs with RichTextBoxes (these bugs are known to SkinCrafter, as I can see posts about them in their forum, but they have gone unanswered in over two years!)One bug is that any text that is colored in a RichTextBox is turned back to black when the skin is applied, and if you click anywhere in the RTB the application will crash (you can see my RTB on the right bottom of the form in my screenshot above).
I use colored text in my RTB, but, at a pinch,I could make do without (as I really DO like the Skin), but the problem remains of crashing when clicking inside a RTB.I was wondering (can't test at the moment as I am at work) if simply placing a control, such as a Button, Label, Picture box etc, set to transparent, over the top of the RTB, would solve the problem, so a user could not click inside the RTB (but would be clicking on the invisible control over the top instead).

Allows end users to see their feature requests and other requests that are "publicly" visible (from other users) with things like timelines, progress updates, etc Would allow for individual URLs to give to users like [URL] and [URL] Can integrate sign-on information from a current SQL Server I'm sure that a tool like this must already exist and I'd like to hear feedback from some of the other programmers on here.

Dec 20, 2011I've done most of my testing under vb2008 debug. Now that I'm doing higher level testing with the executable I've found that I have to set the build output path every time I start the project - in fact, If I don't keep the project properties window open, I have to change the path back after every build.
I'm working with several projects whose executables interact, therefore I am constantly switching projects to tweek one of the other modules and I have to configure the build output path again every time.
Is there a way to tell it to remember the path "permanently" until I change it?

Jun 10, 2011I'm storing images in a List Of Image. When I want to clear/remove all the images it contains should I dispose & set each item to nothing before using .Clear? Or can you just call .Clear? I'm doing it like this for now...

Mar 1, 2012Not sure what I did here. However it seems to work.. Yet what happens is I must go into the List View hit Add. Then Hit Add again to make it able to fill out the text boxes. What should I do to correct the double click of add button? My text boxes are not enabled in properties if that is a key.

I know how to do this in an array but all the synapses aren't firing with the "new to me" collections list as collections lists are hard typed....

Basically, I have a list of reports. In one place they get ordered, and later on the program looks to see which ones have come back -- see if the .SaveFile exists on disk. If it exists, then that report gets processed, and then I want to remove that item from the list of reports-on-order. However, I get an error message back that by doing the .Remove(R), I've changed the list itself & things won't go well with the rest of the For Each loop, which makes some sense.
When I get to this routine, the list of ordered reports will be something from a couple of dozen or less, and some number of them (perhaps zero, perhaps all, probably a few) will exist & be processed & then should be removed from the list. How should I go about accomplishing this? This is my first time working with List(of t) as a Visual Basic tool; everything I've used in the past has been with arrays, and I can do this there.

VS 2010 Checking Items In A List?
Mar 13, 2012I have a checkedlistbox with numbers in it and I'm trying to load a list of numbers from a database and check all of them (they should all be in the checkedlistbox).
I was trying to do this by loading all the values into a separate listbox using my own subroutine (I know that part works) and then finding the corresponding item on the checkedlistbox, like this:

If CheckedListBox1.Items.Contains(ItemName) = true Then

But this doesn't work: It never returns a match, even when the item is definitely on the list. How do I make this work?

Everything I try keeps ending up with the cloned object being a pointer to the original. I was able to do this in C#, but when I translated the code to VB2010 the copy does not work.
