VS 2008 Button Set To Visible = False Causes Form To Not Open Properly
Jan 1, 2010I have a form which won't open properly under certain circumstances if a particular Button is set to visible = false. Under the same circumstances if the Button is set to visiblbe = true the form does open properly or if the line of code at a certain place where it is set to either visible = true or visible = false is commented out or not there then the form opens properly. If any one of the 5 phases on my form are turned on then the problem doesn't ever occur but if none of the phases are on then the problem does occur. I just found a fix for the situation but I still am not clear about what exactly is going on.

PerformClick() Doesn't Work - How To Make It Work
Feb 2, 2011I have an application that requires data be entered, and after entering, a button is clicked to process that data. Clicking the button works just as it should--the data is processed properly. In constructing a test module, I provide a set of data values, followed by:
btnWhatever.PerformClick()
Nothing happens. I have used this syntax for years, and it has always worked flawlessly. I have triple checked everything else and isolated the problem to the failure of the PerformClick(). The PerformClick() is in a test subroutine that does nothing but fill textboxes and labels with default data, then calls the PerformClick() on the button to begin processing. Again, the button works fine, the data is entered as it should be, but the PerformClick() does not fire the click event.

Jun 28, 2010I have placed several PictureBox Images of different colored dots(which represent lights) on an image of a Christmas Tree. I can make the lights randomly flash using a randomGenerator and a Select case statement. However, the code is very long. There are 67 lights on this tree and the code is 71 pages long. There has to be an easier way to do this. So far I have tried the following with two images of lights just to see if it would work and it does not work:

Dec 21, 2011I am trying to make a customer class that will simply make a bunch of controls (hotspots) Visible value = False.
For instance: WinStartSpot.visible = False
Thing is I have roughly 60 "spots" that need to be turned on and off as the user clicks through the program (its a very simple OS simulator) I tried to make a class using boolean return but that failed miserably. how to code a class like that?
DataGridView (slow Processing Of 'visible = False')?
Jun 19, 2010A DataGridView in my VB.NET 2008 program contains over 15,000 rows. I loop through the rows, totalling groups of rows and appending 'total rows' and one 'Final total row' to the DataGridView. That works fine. I want to initially hide all rows except for the total rows, giving the user the option to show all 'detail' rows. If i place the statement << dgvTitleCounts.Rows(intRow).Visible = False >> in the loop, execution time increases by three minutes and that is unacceptable.
I see two options: (1) find a faster way of making all rows invisible; and (2) place the total rows in a separate DataSet and bound DataGridView.

Jun 1, 2009i write Me.Visible = false a statement in the load event of the form my application has only one form and it call itself to hide. but when i run the program it doesn't hide itself i put the breakpoint on the statement to see if it even executes or not. it executes fine but no effect what it suppose to do i also have a notification icon added to a form to see it running in system tray.

Feb 21, 2011I got a couple of issues with my windows application VB.Net. I seem to cannot set the form to be invisible before it shows up for a second, there is no option in the properties of a form and also if I set the form to visible = false before the form is loaded it doesn't work.
So this does not work:
Browser.Visible = False
Browser.Show()
and this does work but the form shows up for a second which I am still not very happy with
Browser.Show()

Panel's Visible Property Won't Change From 'False' To 'True'
Mar 25, 2012I am stumped on this one. I have a panel (pnlKeyPad) that won't change the visible property when I try to set it to True. But when I try to set the Dock Property to DockStyle.Fill it succeeds. I have tried them in different orders, setting the parent property to the splitpanel and nothing seems to fix it. The panel is on a splitpanel that is visible. The panel is set to visible = false by default.
Any ideas of why this panel won't switch to visible when I specifically set it to visible?[code]...

When a label is set to visible = false after being turned on for a number of seconds a stray image is generated. The stray images are also sometimes generated when the label is first made visible.

If you want more information let me know.The white arrows points to the stray image that is created just after a label that displayed information was set to visible = false

Oct 2, 2011Its my understanding that by adding the ScaffoldColumn(false) annotation to an property in a class, that property will not added to the view when doing Add View. However even though i have added scaffoldcolumn false to properties i dont want added to a Create form, they are still rendered inthe create view. Is ScaffoldColumn broken? On page 552 in Pro ASP.NET MVC 3 Framework by Freeman and Sanderson, it states "If we want to exclude a property from the generated HTML, we can use ScaffoldColumn attribute. When the scaffolding helpers see the ScaffoldColumn attribute, they skip over the property entirely; no hidden input elements will be generated and no details of this property will be included in the generated HTML.
" Also the MVC Music Store PDF on p 77 indicates that the attrtibute will do the same -"Allows hiding fields from editor forms".They add it to the AlbumId property and then when the app is run AlbumId field is not shown in the browser. Is this attr broken?If i change a html helper to DisplayFor it does not appear in the form regardless of whether scaffoldcolumn is present. For example i dont have scaffoldcolumn false on Property PostTitle but if i change @Html.EditorFor(Function(model) model.PostTitle) to displayfor then it does not render regardless of the scaffoldcolumn attr. Get True False Statements To Work?
Oct 10, 2009I am trying to get true false statements to work. Each statement has its own msgbox and if true adds 1 to x. At the end i use a case function which will give the final number of x and give it a value in a textbox. What is happening instead is, if I click "no" on every Yes/No question, I get a 4. If I click "yes" on every Yes/No, I still get a 4. For car 3, 4, and 6 I want a "no" to be true. For 1,2,5,7 I want yes to be true.

VS 2008 Datetimepicker Won't Work If Cheched = False?
Oct 19, 2009I just been working with datetimepicker and I can't get it working if it is unchecked. When it is unchecked looks like it is not taking anything in. I can't load the value in it if it is unchecked which I need to have unchecked until the user ticks it by selecting the date.even if I am trying to trick it by doing this:

VB GridView Control Does Not Allow Code To Access Column When Column Has Visible Property Set To False
Apr 1, 2010VB GridView control will not allow code in the vb code file to access a data column that has its visible property set to false. When it is set to true, the data column can be accessed with no problem. Any suggestions as to how to correct this? I have looked through the documentation, text books, and I have not found anything that gave me any clue as to what the problem could be. I thought that the property was just applied to the column, not that it would remove the column from being accessible.

Mar 13, 2012I have 2 group box components and both are same size,font,location and visible is false. When i click button2, the groupbox1 won't appear(the group box2 is on bottom n group box1 is on top).
Example:

groupbox2.visible=false
Because i want to show the different,so the location have a little different(actually both are same location). I think my code is no problem. The problem i guess is both component cannot locate at same location?
