I am trying to find some algorithms or formulas for doing a fillet or blend operation on the intersection of an arc and a line segment given a particular radius. View 5 RepliesUsing the attached code, the goal is to draw a series of 1x1 rectangles to produce an image of a line. The image begins okay at point (0,0) but ends up after 5600 passes through the loop at (1884,5273) instead of at (1965, 5244). To prove the scale factor accurate I also use Drawline to draw the entire line with the same scale factor. Drawline ends up at the correct location (1965,5244).
I've manually checked the calculations with the results as noted. I'm at a total loss to understand what's going on.

I Have created a program (see below) that enables you to use you cam. You then draw a line and calculate the angle. The purpose is that I do alot of work with remote control cars and need to acuratley set toe and camber angles, it takes to long with the "old" method So I am creating this little program. ok, so, lets see what I want to do. Well, the first thing I would like to do is draw a line from top to bottom of my picture box dead center of left to right, this is dead center of the cam so the bottom of your item should be posistioned to meet the bottom of the centre line. I then draw a line from bottom to top of the objects angle. I then use the dead center line and the line I drew to calculate the angle.

I have a program where I have to calculate straight-line depreciation (cost * 1/n) n being the number of years to depreciate, and Double-Declining depreciation (cost * 2/n) using user input for year of purchase, cost, and years of depreciation. The output needs to be put into 4 columns in a list box. Year, Value at beginning of year, Amount of depreciation during the year and Total depreciation to the end of the year.
The problem I am having is with my loop. It is not properly calculating. I'm sure I am doing something wrong that is simple, but I can't see it.

I am trying to calculate the number of years for my calculate age event handler, however i am apparently missing a method or whatnot because im trying to calculate the age , can anyone suggest help on this. I need to subtract years to get my age but when i try the birthdate.Subtract (currentDate) method i get an error about not able to convert from LONG?

a user copies multiple lines of text (say, from an email) into the clipboard. Based on my observations, when one tries to paste the text into a single-line textbox, only the first line is actually pasted in. I am using WebBrowser1.DocumentText to get a websites source code, and then parse a string. I am trying to view the source line by line, and doing it as follows:

However what is displayed is each character from the source code, rather than the line. I am making the client log into a website, and the needed value from the source code is then parsed, so I need to use the WebBrowser type to get the source code.
The following code selects a line ina richtextbox. It works OK expect from one problem:
When a line is biger than the size of the richtextbox, it wraps it. This create a big problem as I can not select the last line of the richtextbox (when a line is wrapped it becomes two lines). When I set wordwrap to off it works just fine

View 9 RepliesI have a couple of VB6 programs which work 100%, however not under W7, so I need to upgrade them to Visual studio 2008 pro which I own a copy of.The VB6 software used to open a file, read in a line of data and process it then save it in a new file, before going on to the next line input.I need to convert this process to VS2008 pro and can't get my head around it..... getting old you see.I also have a few other needs to do with file handling, but I may be able to sort them myself if I get a start with the above problem....
