How can I cause the Paint event to fire from a Form_Click() event? This is what I'm trying to do...
Public Class StrTests01
Private Sub StrTests01_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Click
Dim ps As Graphics = Me.CreateGraphics()
I have a Windows form UserControl that receives electrical signal waveform data into a 128 element byte array Property every 1,000 ms.
I would like to have the Paint event draw a a subset of the 128 sample points of the array every 100ms (12-13 graphic.drawline operations) to simulate a rolling waveform display such as one would see on an oscilloscope or a medical monitoring device. Is it possible, and if so, how would I set the paint event handler to fire every 100 ms?
I need a multiline TextBox which is always disabled, but it shouldn't paint itself in gray, but I want to keep its designer choosen color. I previously had the same requirement with an always-black Label (no multiline) and so I inherited from Label like: Imports System.ComponentModel Public Class LabelDisabled Inherits Label Sub New() InitializeComponent() Enabled = False End Sub [Code] ..... But this way, neither I can set the "real" Enabled property, I mean the backing field.
I am having a problem with data in a combobox not being refreshed (using VB.net 2005 by the way). Right now I have a windows application with several forms. I have a Template form that contains the cboActivity combobox. This combobox is filled with data from a SQL database. I also have an Activity form. This form allows me to enter new activity information and save it to the database. If I load up the Template form, click the cboActivity combobox, the Fill event is triggered and my combobox is filled with the activity data from the database. But if I leave this form open, go to the Template, add new activity information, and save it...when I go back to the Activity form the combobox has not been update to contain the newly added data. Is there a way I can force the Fill event to fire every time I click the combobox?
I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?
Heres the tutorial with my new code encased in asterisks ...
I'm trying to execute different code depending on the button clicked (button 4 or 5) on Form1, but when I click on button5 to activitae the code on the Form2's Load event everything is Ok, but when I click the back button to return to Form 1 and click on the Button4 to activate the code on the Form2's Load event again, it doesn't active the Form's Load event, is there a way to form the form load event every time I access it from Form1? [code]
As you noticed, in the code bellow, the event argument for the form click event has the type "TimedEventArgument".When the event is raised, e.Time holds the time where the form was clicked.Add the missing code in the class Form1 to make this work. You will not change anything to the methods "Form1_Click" or "Form1.Load".You will not use Option Strict On. HOWEVER, you will not do any narrowing or late binding that wouldn't have been allowed if Option Strict was on.You cannot create any new Class, Structure or Module. You cannot cast the EventArgs to TimedEventArg in any way
I have 4 items in a ListBox and each item does a specific thing when it gets clicked on.But I also want the double click event to do the same thing as the click event.I can copy and paste all code from click event into double click event, but then you have lots of code crowding the code page doing the same thing. So what to do about this?
Example: Private Sub listBox1_DoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) _ Handles listBox1.DoubleClick
i want to call a button click event in any other event like this form key down event.if e.control andalso e.keycode=keys.S then savebuttonclick event should be called end if
The only way I know to force a paint event in my pictureboxes is to do a 'Picturebox1.invalidate'. I read that this isn't the best way to do it though, so what's the best way to make my picture boxes repaint?
Weird issue: I have application that I fire some code in the Form_Paint event for the main form, it works fine on my machine, but on other machines is not working at all.
I tried to debug the code on the other machine, and Form_Paint event is not triggered at all!
I was wondering how i would go about threading a paint event. I know the basic multithreading but i cant figure out how i would go about applying this on a paint event. This is the way i know how to go about multithreading.
however it will draw it behind objects for example if i have a groupbox it will draw(i assume its still drawing at leaste) behind the group box and i cant see it
[url]... I managed to figure out how to paint a bitmap on a form. With some slight modification, I managed to make it so that the position of the bitmap can change based on key strokes. However, for some reason, it only does this once. It can't be that the xPosition and yPosition aren't responding since I rigged two labels to tell me their values and they are changing. So how can I make the bitmap respond.[code]...

I am trying to drag and drop items from a listbox into a richtextbox? I can not get the .DragDrop event to fire? I have copied and past the code from [URL]
