Change Variables In An Array Without Knowing Their Index

This may sound quite basic, but i was wondering how to change the value of a variable in an array, not knowing the index value but knowing what the variable is.
For example, I have an array and I want all strings within it that haven't got a value to say "Stretched". here is what i have tried:
For Each stl As String In Me.stl
If stl = "" Then
stl = "Centered"
End If
Next
My array is called stl(), and the size of it is always changing, so i can't just change the specific variables within the array
Also, is there some way to show/change etc all variables in an array? e.g. msgbox(stl(all))
I know this won't work, but what will?

I am trying to create a way to use my arrow keys to move around some text boxes. The form has 12 textboxes moving from left to right with 4 in each row. Tab Index will be like this.
0 1 2 3
4 5 6 7
8 9 10 11
In the code I have figured out how to find the current tab index but I am having trouble moving to the next control based on which arrow key is pressed. Here is the code I have so far.

Trying to input a high setpoint, low setpoint, a % load, and number of compressors, then calculate the temp that all compressors are off. Then build a datagridview with the staging of compressors from all off to all on for each compressor up to 10 compressors.I am trying to insert headers from 1 to 10 compressors (Variable) with the text "Comp1", "Comp2", etc....Two rows with header. I have code, shown below, that works all except for 1 thing: The variables being passed byRef get passed, but once modified in the else section of the "if me.invokerequired" code of RecordData, the variables are never updated in the calling function. To reiterate, the calling function does not receive the updated data that is in the variables custid and amt.When debugging, I see the data change in the else section of "if me.invokerequired", but once it returns from the callback the data is missing.[code]

I am coding a program for a movie trivia game that randomly shows a movie quote and the the user selects a movie name from a combo box that matches. I used a array for the movie quotes and a comboBox for the movie names. I have coded a portion of the program but I am stuck on how to compare the array quote being shown to what movie the user selects from the comboBox. I have tried numerous different things but none seem to work right. The way I have it coded now it shows that every movie I pick that it is right even if it is wrong. I am going to show part of the code here and also attach the entire solution for anyone that needs it .

I have a program that calculates values of a function, say f, with respect to another variable, say L.I have an array of f(L), for L going from 0 to a given integer value, say t-1 in steps of a value i.I need to export the values of this function to an Excel spreadsheet in a given column, and to do this, I would like to re-index the function f, since i is much less than one, and so the following loop I use (see below) won't work:

Sheet.Cells(L + 1, 2) = f(L)
Next L
The first code in the loop will essentially load the values of L itself, at which the function is defined and calculated, and the next line will load the values of the function at each value of L.Since the indexes of the row and columns in an excel spreadsheet only go in steps of 1, I need to convert the indexes of the function, or the indexes to which L is loaded, so that it would be scaled so that the first entry corresponds to L=0, but the next is L=i, but loaded into row number 2, etc.

i have an int variable a = 8 and b = 2.How can I make variable a = 2 and b = 8 without using any other variable and making it generic so if you enter other numbers like lets say a= 10 and b = 5, you can still get a = 5 and b = 10?

Lets say I declare a public array for a structure, and initially I give it 99 indexes (well 100 with base 0), how would I get the first empty index? I thought of doing it like this but a structure array cannot be nothing:

Under VB2 I could create a form with many charts (One form had 12 graphs). You could define the chart once and cut and paste it the required number of times on the form. Each chart had an index and the code used the index to create and update the desired chart with the appropriate x,y data. Is it possible to do this in VB2010?

I'm getting this annoying error box popping up on the last line of the coding below.
- The first line gets the user input, which are values seperated by comma's.. there are allways 7 value in the input
- The second line splits the values at the commas
- The third line is for testing, it basicly says that the 7th string is that value
But this third line is giving the error, how come??

I have a panel with pictureboxes in it. And I'm using
