Link To Word Opens 2 Windows
Apr 20, 2009I am a desktop programmer, not a .NET programmer, but have been asked to look at a .NET application that sends data to a Word document if a user selects an icon. It worked fine until the user upgraded to XP. (The Word version is 2003 and did not change.) Now, although it still works, it opens 2 Word windows - one with the correct data, and another that is empty (it doesn't even have a blank document). The user has requested that we eliminate the empty window. The .NET code calls WORD via:

Dec 26, 2010I want to create a page name "parameter link" where the user can edit and change the value of the threshold. For now, what I have is, all user can change the threshold permanently. What I want now is the user can only change the threshold value during the session only, and the value will reset back to the previous value when the other user login. The words which are associated to this hyperlinks also have bookmarks which I use to access them easily. The error I'm recieving says "Range is not a by reference property." [code] The error is produced by that last line. The full code is actually longer and it also runs through a process with Excel where it determines de variables used.

Apr 15, 2011I'm trying to find a way to change the color of one word when appending text to a Rich text box. So if I append the sentence "This is a sentence with a specific word in one color" The entire thing will be in black except for the word "specific" it will be in red or any color I choose. The same thing will happen if the next line appended is "Please be specific in your request". All back except for the word "specific". I don't want the text added then someone has to click a button to change the color. It should happen as it's appended.

Oct 14, 2009I have a table located in a Microsoft Word document. changes has been enabled in this document. I see that I can get the collection of revisions using "ActiveDocument.Range.Revisions" . I also see that I can tell if the revision exists inside a table using "Range.Information(wdWithInTable) " .My question is this:I really need to find out the "ID#'s" that contain a revision on the "SomeText#" column.So for example, if "Some Text 1" was revised, I need to output "ID-1".I am puzzled as to how to implement this logic. Does anyone know of a way to go about this?

Using Special Tag Codes To Change Word Font Definition In A Textbox For Visual Basic 6?
Nov 20, 2010I am looking for special tag codes that can be used to define certain words in a diffierent font format, like bold, italic, etc. I have a special command that accepts initial tag and end tag to these special words.So, these tags must be interpreted by textbox in VB to turn some words in bold, for instance, and change back to normal font after those words.
The command I have is:
textbox.text = data_base_name.FieldByName("field_name").HighlightedString(index as long, start_tag as string, end_tag as string)
The effect in the textbox should be like this:
Example of special word in bold.Any one knows about the existance of these special tag codes? I wonder if there is something like old DOS Codes, or ANSI, that can be recognized in VB textboxes.
