User Change Link Name And Location?

Oct 15, 2011

I am trying to write a program where a user of my app can change the link location and label name.

At work we have testing scenarios that change at different locations, and instead of me sending updates every week, allow the user to update the link and label name by appending a file or db to pull the information?

I am just not happy with the fact that the user.config file gtets saved in the user's account folder. Is there a way to save it in the Application's Startup Folder instead? I couldn't find any configuration properties within the PROJECT PROPERTIES which would let me change the file location.

Call An ASP Link From VB Code-behind Instead Of User Clicking Link?

Feb 8, 2012

I have a link here that works perfect for calling the postback close that I need to happen:

<a href="javascript:parent.__doPostBack('Close','')"><asp:Label ID="Label5" runat="server" Text="Close Me"></asp:Label></a>

However, I would like to be able to call the *javascript:parent.__doPostBack('Close','')* method from the code-behind file rather than the user clicking the link. I.e., when I have completed my tasks in the application code, call parent.doPostBack as my last function call, which closes the window in question.

How To Link Cell Value At Specific Location In The Datagridview Table To Image Source

Jan 13, 2012

As I have no idea on how to retrieve access data at the specific location in the table, so I wrote VBA code t export the entire access database to a datagridview which is located in the form1. There's a column of datagridview contain complete address information of a image. I'm thinking a way to link image source (of form 2 or xaml file) to the the column so that the image will be displayed. is there any code to get cell value at the specific location in the table? In excel VBA, sheets("Sheetname").Cells(rownumber, columnnumber).value is used to get the cell value, but how about code for this case?

How To Change DLL Location

Jul 6, 2010

I have created a program that uses a 3rd party dll, and has been added as a reference. Is there any easy way to change where vb.net, looks for this dll file? Currently it is dropped in the same location as my main exe, but would rather it looked in the system32 directory. I have googled and tried changing the app.config file, and dont really understand AppDomain.

How To Add Specific User Link To End Of URL

Aug 23, 2011

I need to be able to add a user's code to the end of the url of each page they go to. I am a user, go to my site and type in my user code - which is NOT a login. There is no password, in theory there will be a box or some type of control that will allow a user to enter their code in. This control will then add that user's code to the end of each URL for every page in the site and will also auto-populate all of the products in our database that are tied to that code. The user is like a business or affiliate marketer. We need that code at the end of each URL that way when he sends his clients emails with links in them for purchasing, the client will click the link, and that marketer will get credit for the sale(s).

I was told to use this code:
<ul id="p7menubar">
<li><a href="<% =GetIB("[URL]") %>">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="#" class="trigger">Lookup</a><ul>
<li><a href="<% =GetIB("Default.aspx") %>">Product</a></li>
<li><a href="<% =GetIB("/FeatureSearch.aspx") %>">Feature</a></li>
[Code] .....

I am now using this code and it seems to be taking it whatever value I type into my textbox:
Protected Sub IBTextBoxButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles IBTextBoxButton.Click
Session("IB") = IBTextBox.Text
Dim IB As Integer = Session("IB")
Response.Redirect("IBDefault.aspx?Baccount=" + Session("IB"))
End Sub

<a target="_blank" href="<%# eval("Data") %>?IB=(Session("IB"))"><%#Eval("Title")%></a>
The "IB" gets underlined and says it must be followed by an equal (=) sign and a value. Or if in quotation marks, they must match.

I wonder if someone can add some more insight into this topic.We want to dynamically load the correct contact details based on the visitor's state in Australia.We are using IP 2 Location and went out to test the database. I posted on Facebook a request for everyone in New South Wales to click a link on my post, I stored the result. I understand this is based on trust but the results are fairly unconvincing!

Change Configure File Location?

Jun 21, 2010

I need to holds the common settings for all of the apps ona server (UNC path). Previously I used an ini file on the server and the application was told to look there via a command switch.

I understand that I'm trying to use .net in an old fashioned way by not packaging it for web update & delivery but that's a contraint of the architecture I need to work with.

Is there any way to force my application to use the application.exe.config file from a set location rather than the user data area that .net automatically writes it to? Even if not on a server path, then in the application directory where we can push update it?

Change Location Of Second Instance Of Form?

Aug 15, 2010

Inside a module I have the code:

Public frmClue2 As New frmClue

So I have a new instance of frmClue. Inside my main form I have the code:

frmClue2.Owner = frmClue
frmClue2.StartPosition = FormStartPosition.Manual
frmClue2.Location = SecondaryScreen.Bounds.Location
frmClue2.Show()

The code works except for setting the location. The location is initially set to {X = -3 Y = -3} and it will not change. I have tried to set it to new Point(1440, 0) and that does not work. One interesting thing I found was if I declared the new instance of the form locally inside my main form rather than in the module, then the initial location is set to {X = -1 Y = -1} and I can change it no problem. However anytime the code leaves the main form, the instance disappears hence why I declare it as public in the module. I used the same code to create a new instance of the main form as well and there are no problems.

Change Unknown Textbox Location?

Nov 4, 2011

I'm developing a program at the moment and I'm trying to add the capability to add a texbox everytime you click a button. This is simple other than I'm trying to be efficiant as possible, so I made a sub that creates the textbox and the button calls the sub. Here is where it gets tricky I want the new textbox to move just below the previouse textbox, I'm not sure how to do this since Im only really createing one textbox over and over and having a variable name it by one. This souds confusing I know, but check out my code and it will make since. Really all I'm trying to do is change the location of a unknown textbox say since I create a textbox name textbox0 then when I hit the button again my varibale goes up by 1 which makes the new textbox, textbox1. how to I tell VB to change textbox1's location.[code]...
