How do I not return duplicate random numbers with Do Until loop?
Dim numbers(5) As Integer
Dim subscript As Integer
Dim searchSubscript As Integer
Dim randomNum As Integer
Dim randomGenerator As New Random
Dim isFound As Boolean
Is it possible to find a particular string present in a string array?Example Dim myString as stringmyString = "abc" Dim myStringArray() As String = {"rg", "grg", "grg", "dgdg"} Is there any way to find myString is member of myStringArray, without writing any loop?
I have a series of checkboxes named cbS1 through cbS20 and I set 'Count' as an integer. What I need help doing is taking the value of count and check the checkboxes that are greater than the count.example: count = 7 so checkboxes 8-20 would be checked.Im not sure how to make an array out of the checkboxes to use in a loop.
I have for-next loop that loops 6 times around before exiting. Each time it loops it adds a small number and a space to a string so I end up with a string containing 6 numbers separated by spaces. Whats ends up happening is I get "555 555 666 666 777 777" when I should get "444 555 666 777 888 999". I know for sure it isn't the code that generates or applies the numbers because when you put a messagebox.show at the end of the loop it works perfectly, so it seems to me something is happening to quickly but showing the message box every loop gives it time to catch up. What can I do here?
Recently, I have a requirement to develop a vb.net application wherein the input excel sheet data which has an average of 5000 records should be checked for Internal duplicates (duplicates within the same sheet) and external duplicates (duplicates which exist outside this sheet). I have gone through lot of logics..some of which are ...
- Common and currently testing out..
- First insert the excel sheet data into DB..then query by following
select distinct id,mobilenumber from scrubmaster where calltablename=<calltablename given by the uploader>
Then loop for duplicates...
[code]....
The above logic works but it takes very long time..I have tried other logics from web but they "Query timeout"...
I'm Using Griaule Grfinger X 4.2 SDK for a project. I am able to enroll templates into database, also identify and verify fingerprints against registered ones in the database. But I have a further challenging issue. I want to be able to run through the database to check for duplicates so as to identify them in which I would put duplicates in a hotlisted database.
Ok, my script which is a follow on from a previous thread on writing to a text file needs another thing added to make this one form hopefully complete. (in fact its two things).Firstly, when the 'Save' button is pressed, I want it to check to see if the textbox1 text is already used (textbox1 is the plu field, but still titled as textbox1). So if the save button is pressed, I want it to check first if that number has already been used, and if so, display an error message and don't save, and don't clear the fields so that way the user can enter a different number in for that item.
Secondly, several fields are numeric only. I've tried a couple of examples and are either too complex or just don't want to work for me. How do I ensure that some fields are numeric only (well one is a percentage, two fields are numeric and 1 is a currency field).
I have a list of objects, each with 2 relevant properties: "ID" and "Name". Lets call the list "lstOutcomes".I need to check the list for duplicates (meaning object1.ID = object2.ID, etc.) and set a flag (valid = false, or something) if there is at least one duplicate. Also, it would be nice to send a message to the user mentioning the "Name" of the object, when it fails.I am sure I will need to use the Group By operator to do this, but I am not used to doing that in LINQ, and the examples out there are just not helping me. This article seems to be close to what i need, but not quite and it's in C#.
Here is a starting stab at it... Dim duplist = _ (From o As objectType In lstOutcomes _
I have an multi dimed array of stock sizes, material type and count. The array could have duplicate arrays. In the end I need an array that is condensed with no duplicate and the count field is how many there were in the array. Example: Original array Material: STL TUBG Stock Size: 3" X 3" X 0.250" W/T X 254MM Material: STL TUBG Stock Size: 3" X 3" X 0.250" W/T X 254MM Material: STL TUBG Stock Size: 3" X 3" X 0.250" W/T X 254MM Material: STL TUBG Stock Size: 3" X 3" X 0.250" W/T X 254MM Material: STL TUBG Stock Size: 3" X 3" X 0.250" W/T X 102MM Material: STL TUBG Stock Size: 3" X 3" X 0.250" W/T X 102MM Material: HRS Stock Size: 1" X 4" X 175MM Material: HRS Stock Size: 1" X 4" X 175MM Material: HRS Stock Size: 1" X 4" X 175MM Material: HRS Stock Size: 1" X 4" X 175MM I need Material: STL TUBG Stock Size: 3" X 3" X 0.250" W/T X 254MM Count: 4 Material: STL TUBG Stock Size: 3" X 3" X 0.250" W/T X 102MM Count: 2 Material: HRS Stock Size: 1" X 4" X 175MM count: 4
I have a semicolon delimited string (e.g. an EMail Address List returned from a database or a textbox). How do I separate the string into an array, sort, and remove duplicates? The code below works to separate the string and sort the results, but doesn't remove the duplicates. I could probably then loop through the array and copy to a new array to eliminate the duplicates, but there must be a better way to do this using the VB.Net Array, String, and Collections handling classes.
Dim s As String = "Test; Test8;Test1;Test2;Test3; Test8;Test4;Test5; Test6"
I have a huge array, well Data Grid actually (unbound), but it can be populated into an array... 47 columns by 2000 rows. The data within is random, I need to check each row for duplicates...
essence is on the quickest method though as it will be called by the user. The data is populated by column, so I can not check for duplicates during population.
e.g.
DataFR1, DataBF2, DataJU3....... DataXN47 DataHY1, DataBF2, DataJU3....... DataXN47 DataFR1, DataBF2, DataJU3....... DataXN47 << This is a duplicate >>
I can perform the 'compare' but i'm struggling with the speed.. because row 2000 could be the same as row 1 I can only get my head around a solution that would be very slow
I'm new to the forums and VB programming in general, so I only have a very basic understanding of VB commands, but I still have a good grasp on logic and the like. I'm doing this for a school assignment, and I am in a bit of a pickle.I am trying to generate an array of 6 random numbers from 1 to 30, making sure there are no duplicates.I think I'm pretty close to cracking it, but it still doesn't work. Here's what I have at the moment:[code]......
I'm creating an application that creates a list of 20 ramdomly selected numbers within an array and displaying those numbers in a listbox. I then need to display the duplicate numbers in an adjacent listbox by clicking the find duplicates button. How would I be able to access those 20 numbers in order to find the duplicates?
I am getting some values in arrayIDs if some particular condtion match i am assinging values to array. Here i am getting problem when this condition not match i am getting values zero in all array indexes, here how to check if array contains zero values in array indexs
Dim selects As ListView.SelectedIndexCollection selects =[code].....
I am writing a program for a client that will allow them to disable and enable services. I have the services loading into a checkboxlist on a form. When the user clicks the "update" button I go through all items in the checkboxlist and see if they are checked or not. The code I have so far, and the code Im stuck with is:
I have a Form with a Group Box with a number of check boxes within it, each check box has a text box next to it for the user to enter a number. I wondered if it was possible to loop through the check boxes within the Group Box to find out which are selected and output the value in the associated textbox next each checkbox as it loops?
Suppose I have an IEnumerable such as a List(TValue) and I want to keep track of whether this list is being accessed (to prevent issues with, say, adding to the list while it is being iterated over on a different thread); I can always write code such as the following:
Dim List1 As New List(Of Integer) Dim IteratingList1 As Boolean = False ' ... some code ... '
[Code]....
(I realize this code is very arbitrary, but it illustrates what I'm talking about.)
My question is whether there's a better/cleaner way to perform this check than by manually updating and accessing a Boolean, as above. I feel like there must be, but, to my knowledge, there isn't any IEnumerable class with a built-in "I am being iterated over" method or property. And writing a new class that implements IEnumerable and contains such a property seems like overkill to me.
My application is in VS2008 coded in vb.net.I have a form with a datagridview which loads data from databaase.there is one column where data is stored separated by comma's.Like Name,Surname,LastName name this column as Testing.I have a checklistbox on another of my form. When the user selects a particular row from datagridview another form open and the row selected records are populated in the control of my other form.My issue is i want to check those items of my checkbox that are present in my Testing Column.I have used and array im able to fetch the records just im not able to check the items in my checklistbox that are present in the column
Below is my code
chkList is my checklistbox controls FORM1 is my form that has datagridview
Below is the code of my second form that has checklistbox
Dim classesChecked As String() = FORM1.DATAGRIDVIEW.Item(10,FORM1.DATAGRIDVIEW.CurrentCell.RowIndex).Value.ToString.Split(",") For i As Integer = 0 To classesChecked.Length - 1 Next
So I'm kind of new to VB and am just playing around with a little project, I currently need a loop that is constantly checking the systems clock to see if it's equal to a certain time.
While Not myTime.Hour = 24 If TimeOfDay = newTime Then nfi.ShowBalloonTip(15)
I want to do a For Each loop where i can check whether each button is enabled or disabled. If the button is enabled then i have to obtain the values in the tags for each button. I have 26 buttons each containing different values (cash prizes).*IMPORTANT: this code needs to go under the button so every sixth time its pressed it checks the buttons.
Pseudo-Code:
btncase1.tag = 5 Begin while statement to go through each button Check each button to see if it is enabled
I have a input form that has a number of check boxes on which relate the users enquiring courses. I need to create a loop of some sort that allows each checkbox to be checked it is selected. If so, output that within a message box. Thats it put simply anyway.
I have removed a lot of the code that is not related to this query but my code at the bottom is the message box that i wish to output all details in.[ocde]...
Following code is used in a .NET 2.0 windows service to continuously monitor a the table in the Database.[code]Seelctjob method will connect to SQL server 2005 database and executes the following Select query to see if there is a record with a particular status code.[code]This Select Query is executed continuously. If there is a record Start method will process further.I want to avoid executing the query continuoulsy. I tried using Sleep method and timer control. Thread.Sleep method stops the execution for sometime.[code]What is the best way of connecting to DB and monitoring a table at regular intervals of time without having much performance impact? When to use thread.sleep and a timer control and what is the difference between them?
