Now i want to verefy the table if the username exists or not. If it exists msgbox "Registration Complete", if not "Username already exists. Choose another one..."
I am trying to check whether username entered by user is already exist or not in database. But, I dont know how. The codes are below.

I am having a problem that dtAsia.rows.count>0 doesn't count at all. All I want to do is tell the user that their username already exists in the game but I'm having a bad time now because for example: I entered a valid username and its success... I entered an invalid username and got the CATCH part of this code.. So if i entered a valid username again. I still got the CATCH part of the code until the end even if I enter valid or invalid username still got the CATCH part.

I have an ASP.NET application on our company's intranet. And a funky security requirement.
I need to check to see if a given username is in a certain role. I cannot use
Page.User.IsInRole("MyDomainMyGroup")
because
Page.User.Identity.Name
Returns an empty string. Because of some lovely specifications for this program, I have to keep anonymous access enabled in IIS. Seems to rule out any page.user.identity stuff.
So I did find a way to (at least) get the current user (from System.Environment.UserName), but I need to bounce it against the domain group to see if they're in it. Or, better yet, get a list of users within a given domain so I can check myself. Something like...

This is the standard way of checking if URL exists [code]....

It takes more then 2 minutes to check for all as it is trying to get response of all of them. Is there any way that we can check if URL exists without getting complete Response so that total response time is less.

In my code, I want to check if a referrer url exists and if the referrer url contains a specific sub string. I know how to check for the sub string:

But I don't know how to check if a referrer exists or not. No refer exists if the url is entered in manually in the address bar. So I tried this, but this does not work:

I have a windows service which fetches data from various datasources and build a XML file and send it to a webservice. For example first I will get customer details from Oracle Database and build the XML file and then the SQL Server database and build the customer details XML. I have created a Console Application that uses caspol.exe to add Permission Set and Code Groups. I first install the Permission Set and if I do not get an error, I continue to install the Code Groups
Now sometimes I need to add a new Code Group to the client machine, so I make the changes to the console app and it is executed on the client machine. If the client machine already has the Permission Set installed, it returns an error and stops the further processing.
So, I want to know if I can check whether a custom Permission Set is already added or not?

But can only have one check of each type (check types 1, 2, 3).I have 3 linkbuttons which will take the user to the input form for each 'check'. VB 2008 Express. I am trying to code a subroutine that checks if a certain URL exists or not. When I start debugging the application, and I press 'btnGo', if the URL in the textbox 'tstbURL' exists, it works fine, but if it is invalid, a first chance exception of type 'System.UriFormatException' occurrs in System.dll.

I have a barcode value, and what I am trying to do is check if any of the values in the BarcodeId column of this table is equal to the barcode that I have. Then when I get a match, I want to get the Technician that matches that BarcodeId and display the Technician in a text box.
