Check And Does Not Insert Username If Already Registered
Jan 13, 2012
I have this code that it's suppose to check if the username exists and if it is doesn't insert but it does:
Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient
Public Class Admin_Reg
Dim server As String = "Server=localhost;Database=escola_musica;Uid=root;Pwd=;"
Dim con As New MySqlConnection
Private Sub Admin_Reg_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
[Code] .....
I want to write a utility to register and unregister dll's. So far I have not been successful in checking if a DLL is registered. Can anyone give me any pointers or sample code in vb or c#?
I'm doing an application to manage a school of music, at the moment i'm working on registration (with MySQL DB).
Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient Public Class Admin_Reg Dim server As String = "Server=localhost;Database=escola_musica;Uid=root;Pwd=;"
[Code].....
Now i want to verefy the table if the username exists or not. If it exists msgbox "Registration Complete", if not "Username already exists. Choose another one..."
I have an ASP.NET application on our company's intranet. And a funky security requirement.
I need to check to see if a given username is in a certain role. I cannot use
Page.User.IsInRole("MyDomainMyGroup")
because
Page.User.Identity.Name
Returns an empty string. Because of some lovely specifications for this program, I have to keep anonymous access enabled in IIS. Seems to rule out any page.user.identity stuff.
So I did find a way to (at least) get the current user (from System.Environment.UserName), but I need to bounce it against the domain group to see if they're in it. Or, better yet, get a list of users within a given domain so I can check myself. Something like...
Dim UserName as String UserName = System.Environment.UserName If User(UserName).IsInRole("MyDomainMyGroup") Then
im using VS08 and i got this script to check if username is in database if not insert it which works halfway lol which it says the username is being used even when there is no username in database.. here is the script
Call ConnectDatabase() Dim myAdapter As New MySqlDataAdapter Dim query As String
[code]....
and is there a way i can create a label on login form and when the user creates a username it will go to the login form and put up on the label "you have created a username" or something like that?
It has been giving me a huge headache since last night. Anytime I try to add new record into my database, this error message keeps coming up: "Error: INSERT INTO Customer(Cust_ID, Name, Address, Username, Password) VALUE. I don't know where the problem lies.
I have a application that will prompt the user to enter a serial key in after 30 days...and how do I get the application to know the key is valid? Also i would also like to make a keygen that will work with this program.Where I will enter the company name and generate the key from the Name enter.
Where is a good VB.NET tutorial where I can have a username box and a password box and it checks in the database if it's there and if it is then another form will show?
I am working on a code for a chat client/server and I have it all working, I can connect and chat locally and global. The problem I am having is that when someone just hits the X in the corner to exit it crashes my server as well as the fact that if someone wants to they can make their username the same as someone elses.
I've created a new datasource dtsLogin containing an ID, username and password. my problem is how can you check if the username & password typed in the textbox are the same as the one on the Access database? I thought maybe using a rowfilter but I'm not that good in ADO.net.
So far i have a normal login system but want to add 3 radio buttons.you have to enter the right username and password then check the right radio button..
I have a chat server / client system running, but I want users to authenticate with my vBulletin forum database.I don't want the client to do it, because it is possible to fake the 'successful login' and connect with a fake username. I want to send the username and password details to the server, and make the server check it with the local vBulletin MySQL database for the username and password. Is there a way to do this? To my knowledge vBulletin has a username and a password entries in the database which is salted, and the salt varies from user to user.
My intent is to have the code - on a button.click event - check the Username and Password fields and return an error depending on which is wrong. Or if both are wrong, return a different error message. I've set the username as parts and the password as parts (still learning how to use external authentication). [Code]
I have a table with one column auto number key ID. I have an index on another column as unique value. Every time that I try to add a new value into the ddbb that already exist on the index column, I got an alert using on error procedure. This is fine, but since the error is got when the insert command is execute a new ID is created and next time a correct value is added, it means, not duplicated, the ID number jumps. For example.
auto ID=1 new record (OK) unique value auto ID=2 new record (OK) unique value auto ID=3 new record (got error) not unique value, no new record added
[Cdoe].....
The question is, there is anyway to check if the value exist before to do the insert() command? or anyway to avoid ID number lost.
The ddbb is open using gridview with sqldatasource.
I have an interesting problem. I need to write a program that checks to see if data has been inserted or updated into a Microsoft access database . The program needs to be compatible with both types of access database, so using triggers is not possible as it wont work in access etc
I have looked through the entire internet (well that's what it feels like) to find this out.Tables - Authors and Titles add new title must be linked to an author, so I need to check that the author exists, if so, update the titles table with the user data from the textboxes. If the author does not exist, I need to insert the author first & last name into the author table, then the title info into the title table.this is in VB, using ASP.NET, and my database is a file, I'm not using SQL server, just Visual Studio 2008.
Dim insertParameters As New ListDictionary() insertParameters.Add("ISBN", ISBNTextBox.Text) insertParameters.Add("Title", titleTextBox.Text)
my program is "live" and my customer has troubles because it doesn't functioning as well as it should.I don't know what happen, did I changed something or not but suddenly data won't save to database from newly created forms. Beside this form I have additional 20 forms and everything is working like a charm and I use same code logic to save data to database. I tried to find myself what could be the reason, check by entering data directly to database table (works fine), check insert statement of dataset table (seems fine, too) and everything I could imagine. But now I ran out of ideas and I had to ask here.
Also, I added 3 fields to database table (nvarchar, int and decimal). All 3 of them allow nulls. I changed dataset and data entry form and now data won't insert if I dont enter values to int and decimal fields. Also, this decimal field doesn't accept 0 value if enter but if I assign value 0 from the code than it is ok. I'm not sure if I somehow changed concurrency and somewhere. I tried to find where I can change it but I couldn't find it. I use Visual Studio 2008 and Sql Server 2005 Express. Language vb.net.
When I try to insert a value into table1 it will compare the table values if it is same, It Should throw a error msg "Name and Date Already Exist" otherwise Insert a value. Before Inserting i want to check a textbox value with table value.
