Display Next Date If Date Falls On Weekend?
Oct 14, 2010I am calculating a date for employees to resume work.Now if the date for instance falls on friday, that means the employee has to reutrn to work the next day which will be saturday.This is rigth but what i want is even though the return date falls on weekend, i want to be able to shift the date to the next working day ..Monday for example.so that it will not show that the employee has to return on any weekend day if there falls one.But rather a working day Monday Date.[code]....

In my VB.net application I am looking to count the number of records in table A which have a date less than the one in table B. I have no problem getting the dates from the database. I have extracted the date in table B and stored this in the program. how to compare the dates within the SQL query.
In short what I am trying to do is:

Oct 10, 2011I have a txt file with a few settings that get loaded into the Program. These are put into an array. As the array holds different types (int, string, dates etc) its set to object type.
What i am trying to fingure out is how to check the date is a valid format, by returning a false value so i can have a msgbox pupup and say the date in the file is invalid. I cant use isdate() on the string from the file as even if the date format is correct its a string not a date type so i have to convert it first (which is the point it throws an error).

Aug 1, 2009How to deal with a "date bug" that I have encountered in my program. Here is a scenario.
1. My system has a locale of en_US and therefore displays the date as MM/DD/YYYY
2. My program tries to import from a csv file in which it carries out tests on a field to check for a valid date before loading the rest of the data.
3. If the date in the file is in the format DD/MM/YYYY the test fails and therefore the data is not loaded. This is the bug.
I would like code to test for the date string in the csv file that will recognize any date format (locale).

ListView - How To Do Check On Date (Coming Up Birthdays)
Jan 9, 2010I am new to <acronym title="Visual Basic">vb</acronym>.net but i have been writing my first Application. The application is a customer database. I have a contacts form and in one of the fields the user puter their date of birth. Alk data is writen to a SQL database. I also have a listview on the right when the application lauches. I want this listview to show birthdays that are coming up in say the next 30days. This is so the user can send a card/ present.
Here is my SQL Update

Then my listview has the select
"SELECT ContactName, DateOFBirth, ContactID FROM Contacts"
I did try

todaysdate = Date.Now.AddDays(+30).ToString("dd MMM yyyy")
But it is looking at the YYYY and for it to show evey year the YYYY has to be ignored.
