I have some problem with my windows application in my system. when ever i right click in the tool box and select choose items, the application got closing. Can, any one help me how can i resolve this problem.

Two pane picker:
The left pane has a list of items. The user can pick items from the left pane to put them in the right pane using buttons between the two panes. Picked items in the right pane can be reordered with buttons.
An example of the "two pane picker" can be found by right clicking the Quick Access toolbar in Word 2007 and clicking "Customize Quick Access Toolbar..."
Note: If applicable, VB.NET answers preferred, but C# answers are acceptable too.
Why do I have a Silverlight tab in "Choose Items ToolBox" when I never installed it?The problem is if I select that tab (by mistake of course ;) it locks up!Reproducable bug:Right click Toolbox to open context menu, select "Choose Items". View 4 RepliesVS2010 Professional crashes when I select Choose Items from the toolbox context menu (right click). All has been working well since it was installed in March but just suddenly started with this behaviour. I had an issue with one of my apps which caused a total VS freeze at about the same time this issue started but the app is now working correctly.It had stopped me from using VS2010 and I reverted to vs2008 but that has developed a bug which prevents me from creating / accessing any data connections. A bit stuck now.I have removed and installed VS2010. Initial reinstall attempts failed due to unverified msi file (??). However, I have now successfully installed VS2010 back on the machine. Crash problem still remains.

1. Mainform - here should be a navigation pane, where a user can choose which modul he wants to use.
2. Childform Reports, Childform Maintenance, Childform To Do, Childform Management, ... - depending on which modul of the program the user wants to work with, a proper childform will appear as the main working part of the application
3. Childform CostReport, Childform TurnoverReport, Childform EmployeesReport, ... - if user wants to work with Childform Reports (chosen in 2. paragraph) he can work with one of these childforms.
I wanted to do this with MDI childforms, but visual basic keeps telling me that a form can be a MDI container only as a toplevel, which Childform Reports isn't. So i can make the program till 2nd paragraph but when i want to make the 3rd, its a problem.
I put the error here: "Top-level style of a parented control cannot be changed.
Parameter name: value"
Is there a workaround?
Maybe i could use TabControl for the 3rd paragraph, but its not that convient, since I want to use more "tabs" or forms...
This is my first web-based application using VB 2008. I had no idea where to start so I just chose the 'Wpf Browser Application' and started adding the controls on the form and naming them the same as I would do with a normal non-web-based vb app. I ran the XBAB file under bin/debug using IE and the form showed up but I couldn't enter text or anything even though the textbox was set to enabled?

I found some example code but how do i go on with my code from here? Cant figure out how to copy the files. You can see at last in the code i tried to copy files but its not really working, how do i use the function? I want the files to come from the application directory. And copy to the browsed folder.

I am currently working on a family project which is based on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" show. There is a huge diffrence between the show and my project. My project is a christmas edition and the goal is not to get money or something, since I will not add it... Erhmm... Let me get to the point. I have already designed a layout and scripted some things. I have about thirty questions but I do not want them to always spawn in the same array, if you know what I mean. I want the program to randomly choose one of those thirty questions and NEVER choose the same question in the same program run. By the way, there are four options on my project: A, B, C and D. I have got everything, I just need a code.

I guess this is a reference issue, but I have added references to WMP libraries (axinterop.wmplib.dll and interop.wmplib.dll). The WMP works on the XP machine, but not when called from my application.I have searched the web now for 5 days and changed references, and reinstalled the media player on the XP machine, but nothing works.
I have seen this happen before but am not sure how I resolved it in the past. On runtime the controls of my form change from the windows 7/vista format to an older version format as shown in the attached image.

I am in the process of developing a messaging framework for a windows application that sends messages to a java application. To be precise when the win app wants to send a message it simply drops the message in a common database table which will be picked up by the java app. The windows application is deployed across 10 application servers (10 instances) over citrix for load balancing.Each instance of the application is capable of sending a message to the java application and each of these messages should have a unique id. From my end I need to make sure every message generated has to carry a unique id so that they can be identified when necessary. All the messages can be cleared every day or two.i am not quite sure about a best method of achieving this. Initially I wanted to create a static method that serves the next available id (incrementing the last id by 1). But this approach willn't guarantee unique number as the application starts only when at least one user is logged on. For e.g .On one server the app starts when a user logs in, he then sends a message and then the application stops when that user logs off. So when a next request for the app comes to that server a new instance will be started.
View 3 RepliesI currently have a simple crystal reports application which generates a crystal report and in the built in viewer provided by VS2005. There is a drop down where you can select options to change the criteria of the report. I wish to convert this app to a windows executable which will take all those select options and generates pdfs based on the crystal report. the executable will be triggered by windows task scheduler...or maybe command line app?
Obviously this will be somewhat of a re-write. What would be the best way to start this as? a crystal report application or a windows application.
I have a windows forms application written in VB.NET which scrapes information from serveral web pages (who doesn't right)? Anyway, I am having problem with one particular site where partway through the page navigation my application hangs. When I press pause (or break) in the debugger, it stops on a call to System.Windows.Forms.Application.DoEvents.
Resuming execution shows that it really is stuck on this line (it does not reach the next line of code). It also hangs about the same point each time I run it (at least its consistent). Since System.Windows.Forms.Application.DoEvents yields to other threads on the same processor and then resumes execution of the current thread, I think the problem is that some other thread is not behaving well (not returning from some event handling code). I thought Windows 7 was pre-emptive, which makes me
doubt that theory but I really don't know.

The program scrapes somewhere between 12 and 14 pages before it gets stuck on the call to DoEvents. Does anyone have a clue why this would happen? Why would any call to DoEvents hang?
i made an application for serial communication. for this application i need to set delay time. during this delay time i m doing some other task. So for those task i need to take back control from delay function, for this purpose i am unsing Doevents() function.Its work fine On other OS (XP, Windows7 32/64-bit). But Application.DoEvents() function halt and crash in windows vista.
