If a "web page" is more of a "Web App", meaning it is more of an "application" in a web browser, is it still possible to fill forms and stuff? I have come across a pretty huge hurdle in my fight for automation and it involves filling in a "service ticket" submission thing that is browser-based. I can view the source code of the page, but it doesn't look like normal HTML and the first screen of it has a username and password box, but there is no mention of either in the page's source code.

I have figured out quite a few tricks and stuff with the web browser control but I can't figure out how to automatically click a button. I know I can invoke the 1st instance of a "submit" type button but I want to click the 3rd instance (or chose which ever one I want). Unfortunately the button declarations in the HTML don't have ID or NAME tags to make it easy to pick them. How would I go about extracting all the buttons on a form in an array form, so I could invoke a certain member of that array and click a button of my choosing. Is this possible?

What I'm trying to do is click an html link inside of a html table via code in vb.net using a web-browser control. The link I want to click can be anywhere in the first column of the table so I need to cross reference with another column in the table to make sure I have the re way I'm going about this is to loop through the html elements till I find the table I want (multiple tables on the page) then dump that table to an array. Then loop through the page again get to the table I want and then start comparing the link and another column in the now array. I need to check to make sure that the url of the link contains a work and that another column in the table contains a specific or lower numerical value. Basically where I'm stuck is while dealing with the html element "Table" wanting to identify and interact with another html element inside it.

I'm trying to make the program click on the "Join" button on that website, and with the code above it does click on the join button, but it seems to ignore any type of javascript involved with the button, therefore giving some type of website error. Is there a better way to click that button so it won't produce any website errors?
For the past couple weeks I've been tormented by this problem: I am trying to make a program that will go to a specific web site and add things to my cart on that page. I can get the program to go to the page, log into my account, and get to the right product. But, I can't figure out how to click on the ADD TO CART image.

Im currently working on a project which included a webbrowser navigating to a website. Whenever it arrives there it disables me to double click on the Media Player inside the website to go full screen. Although I know this is possible as Ive seen that the webbrowser can disable clicking on Firefox. My question: is it possible to enable the standard webbrowser in Vb.Net to allow me clicking even if the website doesnt.

Again the code clicks the button, but doesn't save the information so I figured it has something to do with the hidden value. I've never seen this problem before so I don't know where to go from here.

View 3 RepliesI'm writing some VB2008 code to control four 7-seg LEDs I bought from Velleman. They came with some example code in VB 5.0, and with instructions telling me to input 5 bytes at a time in the format Chr$() & Chr$() & etc. for the rest of the 5 bytes. When I try to do this using VB2008, it rejects the $ sign, so I've tried it using the Chr() format, which VB2008 allows. However, it doesn't work. Is Chr() the new version of Chr$() or are they different entities? In sending data to the LEDs, I'm using LiveComPort.WriteLine() as my command. (My serial port is called LiveComPort) I also tried it with LiveComPort.Write() asthe command. I know that my serial port and the LEDs are working, because they respond to the demo program provided by Velleman.

I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,
1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).
2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.
3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.
My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.
i have created an app to load an access database into a datagridview, which contains web urls. When button is clicked it webbrowser1 navigates to each url and each webpages document.inertext is put into textbox. This all work fine but after a while the webbrowser navigation becomes increasingly slower.

I've been trying to make a app that logs into a website. So far it didn't work for me.I have trouble because:
- The "pin" (username) box on the site doesn't have an ID. (Can't use getelementbyid)
- The picture doesn't have an ID either
