I have my app which is an internet browser using the webbroswer control, But if you click on a link in the webbrowser that is an Open in new window link then it starts IE and i know the webbrowser control is basically IE but how can I stop this an make it go to the url in my webbrowser?

Okay so here's the question how do I get the links that open in a new window to open in my main webbrowser control. The above code does some, but it's not fool proof.
There's a richtext box in Form 2 and a WebBrowser in Form 1. The richtext box contains several hyperlink. How can I navigate the WebBrowser in Form 1 by clicking the links inside the richtext box in Form 2.

I was wondering if there is a way to disable the links on a webpage which is loaded into a VS2008 webbrowser control. I am trying to create an application that uses static webpages that I prefer are unable to be navigated out of due to the fact that the way the app is set up, being able to navigate within the webpage rather than returning to my selection form could get the user lost. The program itself is done, and all my selection form option links work fine in the webbrowser control.
View 1 RepliesI'm working with a custom system.windows.forms.WebBrowser control. I need to be able to fetch the html of the link that is beneath the mouse pointer. I've reasearched the Internet and found a promising method to carry out this task. The suggested method is to use mshtml.IHTMLCaret to get the cursor position then use IMarkupPointer to get the element in the current scope. I've scoured the Internet looking for an example of how to carry out the task using the method outlined above but have been unsuccessful. I've tried to figure it out myself using intellisense on mshtml, again - unsuccessful.
I've been stuck on this for 2 days now and I have to admit at this point that Do any of you have experience with using mshtml that get past this issue? Or do you know a another way to carry out the task?
Sometimes when I click on a link, it opens in a new window. Can I prevent this from happening and just load the page in my current window?

View 7 RepliesI have a question regarding clicking a button on a web page through the web browser control in VB .Net Express Edition. I have figured out quite a few tricks and stuff with the web browser control but I can't figure out how to automatically click a button. I know I can invoke the 1st instance of a "submit" type button but I want to click the 3rd instance (or chose which ever one I want). Unfortunately the button declarations in the HTML don't have ID or NAME tags to make it easy to pick them. How would I go about extracting all the buttons on a form in an array form, so I could invoke a certain member of that array and click a button of my choosing. Is this possible?

my webbrowser navigates to a webpage. I need to store all the links into a collection, I did find the code to do the job (on this forum) and it works, but there is a problem: there are more links on the page than those the code reads, like when i right click on a picture and choose "copy shortcut" I get a link that is not showing when I display the "view source" for the entire page. I can't figure out how to do it.

What I'm trying to do is click an html link inside of a html table via code in vb.net using a web-browser control. The link I want to click can be anywhere in the first column of the table so I need to cross reference with another column in the table to make sure I have the re way I'm going about this is to loop through the html elements till I find the table I want (multiple tables on the page) then dump that table to an array. Then loop through the page again get to the table I want and then start comparing the link and another column in the now array. I need to check to make sure that the url of the link contains a work and that another column in the table contains a specific or lower numerical value. Basically where I'm stuck is while dealing with the html element "Table" wanting to identify and interact with another html element inside it.

Everything works fine except the login, it gives me an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error.

Again the code clicks the button, but doesn't save the information so I figured it has something to do with the hidden value. I've never seen this problem before so I don't know where to go from here.
If I have a panel with a handful of controls in it, and I want to create a click event for anytime that the user clicks on any controls that are NOT inside that particular panel, how would I do it? In other words, if there was an event called "ClickSomethingElse", that would be perfect. Any way to accomplish something like this? I realize that I could create individual click events for each of the controls outside of the panel, but there are a LOT of controls outside of the panel, so I was just wondering if there is a more efficient way to do this.

I found this code to make links work in a new window of my browser, but buttons will not. When I click on a button, a new window of my form pop ups but the url says, "about:blank". Is it because the attribute is set to "href"?

I have searched all over the place in an attempt to find the answer to this and from what I can see alot of individuals are suggesting that it is better to use the old web browser control from VB6. View 3 RepliesI have some questions about the Windows.Forms.WebBrowser control.I have added this control to my project to be able to browse websites internally.First problem is that when I come into a webpage that contains JavaScript to open a new window, the control opens a new instance of iexplore.exe, tries to load the page in which the java script popup code initiated, but then prompts for authentication for a second time.Basically, I have to sign into one page to get to a listing of applications.I click on the application which in turn is just a URL to another page.The URL to the other page contains java script to open a new window.The new window opens in an iexplore.exe process, but re-directs me to the original sign in window instead of taking me to the correct site.If I do a msgbox on the cookie that is currently loaded, it displays my authentication information.How do I tell the new iexplore.exe processes to use the cookie that was stored in the webbrowser control?
