Is there any way to make the webbrowser control in vb.net open new window links in the users default browser, it currently opens all links in IE even though my default browser is firefox??
I am new to VB but am quick at learning and well I'm not one to hit a problem and just ask for help I have been search google, forums and various VB tutorials and YouTube videos trying to find how to do this with no luck.I am creating a program which will basically speed up the process of creating account at the moment I am working on a program aimed at Twitter and I am so nearly finished apart from I have hit a snag.I have 2 browsers in vb one is for Twitter and the other is url...When the verify link comes through in (webbrowser2/incognitomail) and is clicked it opens in IE when I would like it to open in one of the web browsers.I have searched so many sites and forums and found nothing on this subject
Q1: If I'm making a Web Browser with Visual Basics how would I make windows detect it so I can set it to my default browser?
Q2: How do I make it so when you click a link in your custom web browser that it opens a new window in your web browser, say I click a button on the internet and it opens in IE and I wanted it to open it in my custom web browser that I made with VB.
I've done a webbrowser and I want to make it mi default webbrowser and .html viewer. I've found a registry modification, but, when I try to implement a registry modification code, my webbrowser requires to be ran in admin mode. Can I implement a code that doesn't requires admin (like firefox - when you want to make it default browser, it doesn't requires to be ran in admin)?
my webbrowser navigates to a webpage. I need to store all the links into a collection, I did find the code to do the job (on this forum) and it works, but there is a problem: there are more links on the page than those the code reads, like when i right click on a picture and choose "copy shortcut" I get a link that is not showing when I display the "view source" for the entire page. I can't figure out how to do it.
I'd like to integrate Webkit.NET into a VB project, but I'm not having any luck so far. The Webkit.NET tutorial page gives a demonstration in C#, so I assume that it's possible to use this in VB.NET as well? [URL]
I added the control to the project successfully, but since I'm not familiar with C#, I haven't been able to convert the code successfully (even after running the code through a few different online C# to VB.NET converters). So... has anyone gotten Webkit.NET (or any Webkit-based browser) to work in VB.NET? Or am I just dreaming? I would love to be able to use the default .NET WebBrowser control for this project, but this project requires doing a few things that the IE browser is not capable of (but Webkit can do it easily).
I am creating my own browser. I want to make an option...to set as the browser to default. To do that I have to:Write a code which opens html(generally internet) file through my browser(form load event) DoneChange the "open with..." of the .html,.xml.... files Problem I want to change the open with event from my web browser. Actually i want an options form which will ask the user "Do you want to set /Browser name/ to be your default browser?" If yes then it will change the default options of the internet files.
Im using VB2005 express and the app im creating uses the web browser control.Basically I want to know if its possible to make the web browser control connect through a different ip address and port from your default web browser.
I am creating a webbrowser with Visual Basic, and I have finished everything but this: When I click on an external link, (I.E. On a photo, or on youtube) it opens up in a new IE window. I want it to open in my browser, not Internet Explorer.I have read everything I have found on this subject, but it is all for normal web browsers. I want to do this for a tabbed web browser, not one without tabs. Basicly, I want to use this code with my tabbed web browser that uses tab control.
Private Sub WebBrowser1_NewWindow(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.NewWindow
[code]....
convert the code to be used in a browser with tabcontrol? I tried, and it works with one that DOESN'T use it, but I want to use it with my browser with tabcontrol. And, I have read ALL of the ones previously given to other people.
I've just finished making a web browser suited for my personal use, but when I click on a new link or something it opens a new window in Internet Explorer - which gets extremely anoying.. Is there a way to make all links open up in a custom browser?
I coded a web browser over the course of a year called Nova - very advanced with tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, etc etc etc etc. I could go on all day about how advanced it is. But.. there is one flaw. You cannot make it the default browser; I don't know the code!I already know the CommandLineArgs stuff so it actually opens the HTML file rather than just opening the program; in fact, I already can make files open with Nova completely. It's just the other stuff - you know, when a website is to be opened from a help file or something, it opens with Nova, Windows recognises it as the default browser, stuff like that.
Other topics around the Internet are all unfinished topics, so I'll ask this myself. How do I set a self-made browser as the default browser? I know it has something to do with accessing the registry and checking what the value is in some places, but I'm not quite sure. Now, I've made this browser called Nova;
very well coded and advanced, tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, can change default search provider, uses Gecko as its engine so it's not just an IE shell, etc. It's been developed over the past year and will still continue to be developed. I'm almost ready to release the first version - but I just need this annoyance solved.
How do I make my web browser made in visual basic the systems deafult web browser, as well how do I make a feature that checks that the program is the deafult browser.
What I'm trying to achieve is something similar to an Add-on called Live Http Headers used with Firefox. I'm not trying to get the Headers or cookies, but the links that load on the page itself. Let us assume I visited Mail.Yahoo.com, this is pretty much what you would see when I use the add-on.
CLICK HERE How can I achieve something similar ? Only the links that load on the page itself.
For the kicks I decided to write a very basic RSS reader at work. Though this is probably more work than it is worth I would still like to know if it is achievable. Currently it pulls down the xml information from the feed and turns it into a HTML page which is then read by a webbrowser control within the form.
The issue I have ran into is that because I wanted to keep my form a nice small program to run on the desktop when there are links included in the feed it opens the links within the browser control which is to small to read the entire page. I would like for any links within the feed to open in the default web browser installed.
Im making a "offline viewer" which uses saved webpages.I'm using a web browser and a tree-viewer. Currently when you click a link for a file/ installer (for example if you click on the "The Gimp" installer link) you have to right click, and then "save target as..." and then save it (so you would then two copys of the same file) AND then open it.Is there way i could have the file open when the link click? (Again, for example, the running of The Gimp installer apon clicked, or the opening of the video file when clicked)
I can't figure out how to make my web browser open links in a new page or tab instead of IE. I've tired at least a dozen different sets of code. None of them can be manipulated to fit my browser. When my browser first starts, there's an empty tab control. I put a new webbrowser in it at runtime and set it's dock to fill. I create new instances of the browser for new tabs as well. I just can't find how to make it open links in new windows.
I'm making a tabbed web browser currently and I'm having problems opening a new window when right-clicking on the link and selecting "Open Link in a New Window" Here are the codes:
I am working on a term project for my university graduation next month. I was wondering if there is a way to disable the links on a webpage which is loaded into a VS2008 webbrowser control. I am trying to create an application that uses static webpages that I prefer are unable to be navigated out of due to the fact that the way the app is set up, being able to navigate within the webpage rather than returning to my selection form could get the user lost. The program itself is done, and all my selection form option links work fine in the webbrowser control.
I'm making a Tabbed Web Browser, and it's nearly finished! There's one problem, though - when I click on some links, it opens them in Internet Explorer. What I want is for them to open in a new Tab. To be honest, this is the only part of VB.NET programming I'm really bewildered about. The current code for my main form (I have put in 3 forms) is here:
Imports System.Net.WebRequestMethods Public Class Form1 Dim int As Integer = 0 Dim Browser As WebBrowser
I'm working with a custom system.windows.forms.WebBrowser control. I need to be able to fetch the html of the link that is beneath the mouse pointer. I've reasearched the Internet and found a promising method to carry out this task. The suggested method is to use mshtml.IHTMLCaret to get the cursor position then use IMarkupPointer to get the element in the current scope. I've scoured the Internet looking for an example of how to carry out the task using the method outlined above but have been unsuccessful. I've tried to figure it out myself using intellisense on mshtml, again - unsuccessful.
I've been stuck on this for 2 days now and I have to admit at this point that Do any of you have experience with using mshtml that get past this issue? Or do you know a another way to carry out the task?
I have a WebBrowser1 control and two TextBox(1,2).The First TextBox1 is used to load Urls to the webbrowser. After the WebBrowser completed to load the web page,I just want to write the urls (http:/........) of the links in the web page in the second TextBox2.The links can be a buttons or images, so insted of clicking on them I want to access them by the program. How can I write the urls of the links from the webbrowser on TextBox2?
I have my app which is an internet browser using the webbroswer control, But if you click on a link in the webbrowser that is an Open in new window link then it starts IE and i know the webbrowser control is basically IE but how can I stop this an make it go to the url in my webbrowser?
I have a webbrowser control built into a windows form of my application and I was curious if there was a way that any links that are clicked on in the webbrowser control will be forced to open in a new browser window?
I am trying to get my Visual Basic Web Browser to open links and buttons when clicked in a new window of my web browser by using the New Window event. I found this code to make links work in a new window of my browser, but buttons will not. When I click on a button, a new window of my form pop ups but the url says, "about:blank". Is it because the attribute is set to "href"?
Private Sub WebBrowser1_NewWindow2(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.NewWindow Dim myElement As HtmlElement = WebBrowser1.Document.ActiveElement Dim target As String = myElement.GetAttribute("href") Dim newInstance As New Form1 newInstance.Show() newInstance.WebBrowser1.Navigate(target) e.Cancel = True
