Recently, someone asked me to code a program for them in Visual Stuido. What they need is a program that allows them to enter names, and each name has to pick a option (i was thinking that the user would select a radio button) and each option could only be selected a limited number of times.
I have declared this function and trying to get the correct coding to call this function correctly.Public Declare Function ColorRGBToHLS Lib"shlwapi. dll" (ByVal clrRGB As Long, pwHue As Long, pwLuminance As Long, pwSaturation As Long) As Long
i am going creating a simple function calculator, but I had to first do a design documentation proposal. I now have to update the project proposal with a storyboard or list of menu and screen items to delineate my proposed user screen and menus.aside from the calculator itself there will not be any menus.I also have to list any user data inputs and outputs my application will require and produce, which i assume i can put any numbers that the user inputs into the calculator and their results.
I need help with creating a simple search function for an app im making. It shows recipes of various drinks.I want it like when I press "Search" on the main menu a new form should open containing all I need to search for a drink E.g if I search for "A night of passion" it should look through all the forms and then open the form containing the choosen drink.Could something like this be possible?
Say we have a DataGridView on the main form. I can chose to establish its properties by code or by selecting them in the Properties panel. Is there a difference between these two techniques, a loading time penalty in any of the cases especially?
Trying to make a simple browser with some simple addon's. What Ive done is setup a menu(forum) for the user to enter their email providers web address and it will save it in a xml file. When they click on the email link, it should load the email xml iformation and place that info in the tb_html.text and navigate. I keep getting a null exception and im not sure what going on here. Here is the code:
Browsers: Private Sub btn_Email_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btn_Email.Click 'Load Action Dim SavedEmailObj As Storage
I want to make an numerical integration method with takes in an analytic function and integrate it over a specific interval. For the numerical integration procedure I want to use some procedures in nr.com. The problem is that these are programmed in C++ and they uses functors to pass a function to the integration method. How can I do this in VB 2010?
I want to initialize the function (i.e. set a=1,b=0 for function y(x)=a*x+b) and then pass the function to the integration method. Then when the integration method call the function it only calls the function with one parameter (i.e. x since a,b is already set)
What is the best way to do this in VB2010?I want to make a general integration method where I can pass any single valued function and integration limits.
I have just started using VB, and from what I have found so far it seems like the tools you have is
- to us a delegate for the function - to use a lambda expression for the function - send a pointer/adressOf - to create a function class/structure and submit this to the function
As for now I am most inclined to create a function-class. But I am not really sure how.F.ex. I make different classes for each "uniqe function" I want to integrate, but how can I pass them to the integration function when I need to specify the argument type in the integration-function-call?This seems like a basic problem which applies to many Math operations, so I think it would be very useful to clarify this.
I'm trying to undersatnd the syntax of calling a funciton and it seem confusing when I'm using a web service in ASP.net. Maybe this question should be in an ASP forum, but it is a VB question. This simple web service allows you to type in your name and it response with an alert box with you name.
My question is, How can you call a function with 2 arguments when the function is only defined for one. I understand that the second argument is actually a method that handling the respons, but how can you interchange function arguments for methods and how do you know that there are methods for
i wanted to ask how to make picturebox1 ,to which functions are already assigned, perform the same function as picturebox2 ,to which no functions are assigned. For example:I have already made picturebox1 and have assigned it alot of function like when play button is pressed then picturebox1.visible = true and when we press pause button picturebox1.visible = false. So now i decided to make a theme and have to remove the picturebox1 and want to allow the picturebox2 to havefunction of picturebox1.But when i disable the theme the function of picturebox1 should go back to picturebox1.
Ok, I don't even know if the is possible, but what I want to do is have a button that when pressed will add a new text box below each other each time it is pressed. So meaning, ther4e is text in one text box, then a button is pressed, a new textbox will appear below it and you can add text to that, and so on.
I was wondering if you can programme in a code to add buttons to a page, without physically putting them in.Ive got a customisable set of options, currently in a txt file 1 item per line maybe thinking of putting into a listbox, if a user adds an item i need it to add a button with that text on.
say i had a drink list, with my first 3 items of beer, cocktail, food, and theres a button prest for each one and i decided to sell wine, shandy, rout beer and so an so on, or how ever many items there are, could be 50 items or 100 items don't really fancy?
I'm creating a game similar to the tradtional space invaders in VB '08. My problem is twofold. One, when I dim a new picture box (picPrimaryLaser) it won't move. Two, I can't do anything while it's moving. The screen just turns white and flashy around that area. Here's the code.
Public Class frmMainInvasion Dim activationCheck As Boolean = False Private Sub frmMainInvasion_FormClosing(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As
<Visual Studio 2005. VB.NET.> Does anyone has a sample code to send an e-mail like below?
Namespace My Partial Friend Class MyApplication Private Sub MyApplication_NetworkAvailabilityChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices.NetworkAvailableEventArgs) Handles Me.NetworkAvailabilityChanged MsgBox("Network Connection has been changed", MsgBoxStyle.Information, "Network Connectivity") "Send an error email to admin"
I'm currently extracting strings from the page source of a certain website. I'm using the start string and the length to get the string I want. However, the problem is that it contains some html codes such as href, a, li etc. Is there a way in which I can copy the text only and not the code?
I have a newbie question hopefully the more experienced vb heads will be able to help me with, I have a command button which works like the following [code] I was thinking would it be possible to only run 'Code 4 if the messagebox.show has not appeared for Code 1, Code 2 and Code3?
I think I have a simple program to create, but I just cannot find the syntax to complete it.Effectively, what I'm trying to do is search down a column where there are cells with numbers and cells that are blank. I want to search down the column and find where there are two or more cells that that have numbers, one after another. I want to add a row beneith the last number and then add up the total of that batch of numbers in that column were searching down. I know that I'll be using a loop to step down each cell in the column to check on the contents of the cell. Also I want the loop to go from the top of the colum to the last record since the list length will frequently change.
I Have a project to do for the class and i start to do it but i am not able to do the last part which is ( if there is no win, it should say drew) i do not know how.lp me on that and if you can give me easier way ti am using visual basic 2008 express.here is the codeode
Public Class Form1 Dim player As Integer Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles
I'm trying to set the size of a box without setting it in the properties dialogue box. My reason for doing so: I have text boxes stacked on top of each other. I need to alter properties of them after I place them and don't want to scroll through the list of objects (there are a lot) in order to find that specific item. Instead, I want to place them at different places in the form and then tell them where to be located, and what size they should be UPON FORM LOAD. I can't seem to locate the proper syntax in the book I am using, but from logic I have reached the following beginning of the line of code:
I'm working with Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server Compact. My database program was working great and I have been able to get a lot of stuff done. Just a moment ago I created a simple command in my VB code and decided to check if it works. No mapping exists from DbType AnsiString to a known SqlDbType. The error occurred in the DataSet.Deisgner.vbThe part of code it focused on was:
<Global.System.Diagnostics.DebuggerNonUserCodeAttribute()> _ Protected ReadOnly Property CommandCollection() As Global.System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeCommand()
I'm down to the final coding on one of my projects, when i notice that the backgroundworker behaved strange. For each time i run the backgroundworker, it repeated it self one more time, and the new time, it repeated one more time.
So, if i run the worker a third time, it would repeat it self 3 times.
First run: Runs one time Second run: runs twice Third run: run 3 times And so on.
I have been writing code fore a rather large project in the past mounts And Im beginning to think about arcitecture of the program... Its just a complete mess. I dont know how to tackle so much code..Its beginning to be impossible to debug.Basically Im doing the following prosidures. Importing several a Excel files and getting the rfrequency data from these files..Displaying them in a litview and a datatable... so you are able to edit them..Doing some calculation and exporting the results back to a xls file.Problem is now that im going to add more functionallity to the program,. What im woundering about is, is there some good unofficial guides on how to program with OOP?
Where in the body of a function do you code a stored proceedure? Does the storeProceedure "spInsertVendor" replace the sql commands? Here is my code:
Private Function AddVendor(ByVal vendor As Vendor) As Integer Implements VendorService.AddVendor Dim connection As SqlConnection = PayablesConnectionFactory.GetConnection Dim insertStatement As String _ = "INSERT Vendors " _
I'm learning how to use visual basic and come from a background in Java. In Java I use the swing class to build my interface and code all of it. Is there a way to do this with visual basic, or is the designer the only way to create an interface?
