I have written a Windows GUI ( using VB.NET) -> Which updates some values into MySQL DB through webrequests. During this process I am updating some richtext data into mysql DB. It is storing the data in the DB along with rich text tags. Is there any way to avoid them
HTML
<pre>{
tf1ansiansicpg1252deff0deflang1033{fonttbl{f0fnilfcharset0 Microsoft Sans Serif;}{f1fnilfcharset0 Times New Roman;}}
{colortbl ;
ed0green0lue0;
[Code]...
INSERT INTO {TARGET REGION}.(TARGET TABLE} ( SELECT * FROM {SOURCEREGION}.{SOURCE TABLE})How can I avoid the above problem. So that only actual content is updated in the DB instead of the data with richtext tags.
I have a sample app here I could use a hand with Basically I'm trying to update the TextBlock on the main page using MVVM when the content the frame updates the the property. Please find the code attached below:[URL]..How do i get the button inside the frame to change the variable and update the TextBlock on the parent control?
I'm having trouble getting a datagridview to update into an access db.Here's the code, from what testing I have done it is telling me that there are no rows in the datagridview (datagridview1.rowcount returns 0) when I can visibly see that there are many rows:
Im trying to push (for what of a better word) the output of a button which is in a text box to a field within mysql. I have followed the tutorial on here for connecting to a mysql database. And I have also followed and it works the tutorial for getting data from mysql to a form. But I cant find anything on how to achieve the reverse of this - populating a field with data/text from a textbox.
I'm working on a automated content updating script. When a new update is entered I insert into a database table, and cache, the time of the update. Dim setT As DateTime = DateTime.Now modCommand2.Parameters.Add("?brmt", setT) modCommand2.Parameters.Add("?lup", setT) 'databse code here Dim myData As String = CType(Cache("ltu"), String) ' if it's not there, add it If myData Is Nothing Then Cache("ltu") = setT Else Cache.Remove("ltu") Cache("ltu") = setT End If
I'm trying to read the content of a field in a mysql database. I found this code below that does it but you must select the position of the field (column 0, 1, 2 etc) myData.GetString(1) instead of the name of the field. In the php code above it is "title". I'm looking for a command like myData.GetString("title")
Dim myCommand As New MySqlCommand Dim myAdapter As New MySqlDataAdapter Dim myData As MySqlDataReader
My current problem, as stated in the title, is that I am trying to create a series of buttons from a custom class within app_code and place them on a master page. The whole reason for this is I do not want to have to copy and paste event handlers on the content pages.
However, upon the click of these buttons I need for a method on the content page to be called and update html within a div of the content page.Is there any way to accomplish updating the div of the content page from an event handler in the custom class? Remember, the method that updates the div exists on the content page.
I have a DataGridView filled from the MySQL database table. I want the changes made on the datagridview records, update the table when a Save Changes button pressed. Here's my code which takes the data from the database and adds to the DataGridView.
Private Sub cihazmodeli_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cihazmodeli.SelectedIndexChanged 'Loads database records to Datagridview If Not CStr(cihazmodeli.SelectedItem.Value) = "" Then Dim sorgu As String = "Select [Code] .....
I searched internet including this forums to find a working example about the following subject but couldn't find a solution about my problem.I have two main problems:1) I have a DataGridView filled from the MySQL database table. I want code update the changed records, when a "Save Changes" button pressed by the user.I created the code below to make it. It makes update on the changed row, but enters Null values. So after the update on the database, the values become null.2) At "Private Sub cihazmodeli_SelectedIndexChanged" section my code reads the database and loads the values to the DataGridView. When I make another change on the Combobox, it adds the values of the new SQL results at the bottom of the previous records. I tried to clean the results using either Clear() or some other methods but got a message meaning "Content entered with DataSource can not be cleaned with Clear or other methods". What is the way of clearing the previous choice's records?
Code: Dim cn As New MySqlConnection("Data Source=localhost;Database=stokprogrami;User ID=root;Password=mypassword;")
All i'm tring to do is connect to my MysQL database on my Local host and update a record in my "customers" Table. The Error i've been getting is under Public Sub DeactivateAccount,the MyCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() line of the code. The error is saying there is "no database selected". Below is the code i have.
Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient Public Class FinalFailedPinNumberAttempt Dim connectionstring As String = "Server=localhost;user id=root;Password=;
I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to vb.net and databases and I have a small favor to ask anyone I am looking for a very basic example on how to connect, read, update and insert data into remote mysql database. I have successfully connected to my database with the code below,, and for the moment I am just trying to LIST data from it in a listview control,, and then would like to find a way to insert data into it and update data.
Al examples I find on the net are too long and usually have too many unnecessary data around the code I need so I get a bit lost in it.Can anyone point me in the direction of SIMPLE examples that are easy to follow or provide a bit of useful code I could learn form.
I'm trying to test some stuff out, like adding employees and stuff like that.
Now it used to run on an Access database, but I've made the jump to MySQL.
Now to add an employee I use this code
Private Sub btnOpslaanWerknemer_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnOpslaanWerknemer.Click Try
[Code].....
now I get the following error: "Error: MySQL.Data - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check manual that corresponds with your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '?,?,?,?)' at line 1.
I have been coding an application for a LeaderBoard for a game. I have all the Login sorted using Mysql and even have all the Account infomation displaying in lables etc. for account info form. Now I am trying to UPDATE information and this is how I was trying to do this...
Dim UpdateInfo As New MySqlDataAdapter Dim mycommand As New MySqlCommand() Dim mydata As MySqlDataReader Dim query = "UPDATE Login SET Pword = '" + UpdateTxtBox.Text + "' WHERE Uname = " + Login.Uname mycommand.Connection = conn mycommand.CommandText = query UpdateInfo.SelectCommand = mycommand mydata = mycommand.ExecuteReader()
But comes back with an Error saying... Unknown column 'username here' in 'where clause'. Now the username is in the database as I have just logged in with it and I am taking it I have the Query wrong somewhere.
1)This is my code.. (below)what i am trying to do here is to insert username and confirmed password into a sql table called login via a pre created form.I have 1 textbox, 2 Maskedtextboxes and a button.
what i would like is if the passwords do not match in both maskedtextboxes for the system to throw out a message saying passwords do not match please try again..which then clears previous content and requires the user to enter details again. once details are correct and system commits the new user details to the table and throws up a confirmation message.
I have a webpage with a form that is used to edit some object. This object contains a Collection of other objects defined like this: Public Overridable Property Employees As List(Of Employee)
On a form I can delete an employee, add a new one or modify existing one. When I click save new values are sent to the server. On a server I check if the user exists. If exists then I modify its values, if it does not exist then I add it. All employees that exist on the server and were not sent are marked as deleted (State changed to EntityState.Deleted). I try to use the following code (dbCollection = database entities, newCollection = collection sent from the form):
[Code]...
This code does not work, because changing to EntityState.Deleted removes the object from collection, and for each loop breaks, since the collection is modified...I know that I can overcome this problem by using a for loop or adding objects to delete to some other list first, but I hope maybe there is a pattern that would make my code nicer.
I have determined thanks to the last q & a that there is something wrong with my "save to db" code as well as my "retrieve to picture" code. Even If I manually save the pic in the db it stil wont retreive. This is code i patched together from 3 or 4 examples around the net.
Dim filename As String = txtName.Text + ".jpg" Dim FileSize As UInt32 Dim ImageStream As System.IO.MemoryStream[code]......
MySQL databases exists for saving values as strings (text only). Is there any way that i could store files with the same speed as a mysql command ? I know that it depends on the file size but lets say that the file is "Avatar.jpg" 50KB... I ve tried FTP but this is not what im looking for. e.g. You want your users been able to upload a file like the [Add This Attachment] button does in dreamincode.net and you dont have any background on PHP/HTML/Javascript/ASP.NET just VB.NET and the basics of MySQL plus you dont want to use it for a website. How do you accomplish this? Something silly that ive tried was opening an image as text then update the mysql server with that text but it didnt work backwards after i wrote the text on the file and oppened it ...it said that the image was corrupted.
What i have going on, is i have a MySQL connector as a resource on my application, and im basically trying to connect to my MySQL server, to either a) register a new account, or b) check that the account exists and they are premium, and login, Now what i have run into problems with is: My MySQL Database Name has a _ in it which VB is not allowing for some strange reason.
The code i am using is below
Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient
Public Class Form1
Function UpdateRecord(ByVal query As String) As Integer
[CODE]...
How i can allow the _ into the application, because the only databases that don't have a _ in the user or dbname are a) Paid ones which i DO NOT have the money for or self hosted ones, i cannot leave my computer on 24/7
I am trying to make a login system mysql try to connect to a mysql database.
Here is my code:
Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient Public Class LoginForm1 Dim MySqlConnection As MySqlConnection Private Sub OK_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles OK.Click MySqlConnection = New MySqlConnection()
i Built A MySQL Login System Using MySQL Connector But If Other People Want To Use The Program Thay Get An Error, I Think This Is Due To Thay Do Not Have The Connector So What Should I Do, Btw Dont Say 'Tell Them To Connector'!
Im building an app to manage PSP contents, and it should connect to my MySQL server on my domain to refresh game info and ratings and so on, but I cant make it connect with MySQL Connector 6.1.
I can have mysql database. but i have not mysql. how to connect this database vb.net 2005. but i have mysql-connector-net . I want to mysql-connector-net use to connect this database. database path(C:Documents and SettingsAdminMy DocumentsVB.NETStock delnaSTC.sql)
I have a query from within my vb.net code which searchs for a record by date. The date being entered via the code is in format dd/mm/yyyy, i need to search in the database using yyyy/mm/dd? Ideally i thought there may just be a function within MySQL which will convert this. If not in vb.net to convert the string 01/01/2011 to 2011/01/01?
What i am trying to do is get my system to look into the database and recognize if the user is a admin or a user, based on that they have certain rights below is my code
Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient Imports System.Data.SqlClient Public Class Form3
I'm connecting to my mysql server using ODBC in vb.net, the database is shared throughout the company because it is used in an accounting program (simply accounting), each user has their own account user/pass to login to the database. I have developped a program that uses the accounting database and combines it with other information, my problem is that at least once a day I get this error when I run my program: "(10061) ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on"and the error persists for at least 4 hours, for some reason it starts to work again later on in the day.
Now I have my databases in .sdf-files. These files are located on a server and loaded into several listviews. It has worked fine for a while, but I found out that last week one of the computers didn't close the connection with the database, which resulted in (a bunch of) errors on the other computers.
I have a mySQL server (external) where I can add the data into, but I think that it would slow down the loading severely, but it's very important that people can import the data at the same time.
i am having troubles with one of my commands for a irc bot im making when someone inputs !tf gods NAME it will check through something i have preset it all works but the one "if" wont work with variables for some reason only normal text. If i can get it to work with variables i will be fine.
