Control Datagridview Selected Row Color And Selected Cell Color?

I want to have my current row stand out as the current row by virtue of the background color.I also want my current cell stand out from the row color.
in other words i want to controll the background of the current cell as well as the current row, and have these colors different from each other as wel as the background from the non current cells.
I am getting confused with the notion of the current row vs the selected row.I have tried messing with the default row style.selectedbackgroungcolor as well as the same for the default cell style, but cant get it to work the way i want.
i can almost get it if i set the selection mode to full row, but then cannot get the current cell to have a different background color.

I build an agenda in access on the left you have column year and then the month an then you have columns from monday to satrday
what i would like to see is when i select a year in the combox all the rows in datagrid of the selected year to have the same color also i would like to do that with the selected month

Alright inside of a combo box I have a list of colors and I want to change the background color of the combo box to the selected color...basically this... but im not sure what the problem is here anyone have some advice or is this not possible?

Right Click drop down menu using ContextMenuStrip. The background color of an unselected menu item is set with "BackColor".The color of the text of a selected menu item is set with "ForeColor".How to set the background color of a selected menu item? Default appears as a dark grey and I would like to change it.

I have a datagridview with the rows color coded for specific values...To make it easy on the user, i want to do what I did in vb6, something like
MSHFlexGrid1.BackColorSel = MSHFlexGrid1.CellForeColor
MSHFlexGrid1.ForeColorSel = MSHFlexGrid1.CellBackColor
basically, when a user selects a row... the colors should inverse. for instance, if the background color is red and the foregrould is black when the user selects the row, the foreground becomes red and the background black... and then goes back to its orginal color when the user leaves the row.

I have added a custom Control to my project, but every time I edit it and rebuild the form that I use the custom control in adds the project name in front of the control and won't compile. i.e. Project name = MyProject, Custom Control name = MyControl. When I rebuild the project after editing my control I get an error, MyProject.MyControl doesn't exist. If I remove the MyProject from the line it compiles and runs fine until next time I edit the custom control.
I can't figure out what I would be doing wrong to cause this, or why it is putting the project name in front of the control, but then not accepting it. I am also struggling figuring out how to change the back color on an individual cell in an Datagridview Combo Box. The style.backcolor property of the cell doesn't seem to do anything.

How to programmatically change foreground color and make bold text in individual cell location on DataGridView control (Visual Basic)?
I use "dgMatrix.Rows(r).Cells(c).Value = x" to assign individual numeric values to individual cells in a DataGridView control. My question; is there a similar way to change foreground color and make bold the text in this cell, by specifying the individual row/column cell location?
For example; for cell (row 3, col 5) in the DataGridView make text in cell say red and bold or blue and bold so as to highlight and distinguish individual cell contents. As needed, I will also need to reset these properties (foreground back to automatic/black and font from bold back to regular); the reset could be done globally to the whole DataGridView as opposed to indiviaually by cell.

How do you change the color of a toolstripmenuItem when it is selected?
When Clicked on to open up the drop down menu.
I can change the Background for everything else, but when I click on the toolstripmenuItem the dropdown shows up correctly but the MenuItem changes to an incorrect color.

I've been googling, testing, etc for a couple hours and I'm right where I started off. the vb.net tab control sucks... Does anyone have an tips or code to make it so when I select a tab the font color changes OR it just makes the tab heading text bold?I've messed around with the draw commands and while that does work, it draws the borders/backgrounds so they are very old / outdated looking.This is basically for a simple tab text editor I'm working on when a textbox in the control changes I can update the associated tab with either a red font or just bold it to indicate the textbox on that tab is modified. I've definitely be open for alternative tab controls as long as they are free and come with a vb.net example :)

I have a GridView with image buttons for selecting rows. I am using an OnRowDataBound event to color selected rows Blue:
e.Row.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Blue
Now that works great as long as I don't set a color either in the CSS stylesheet or on the grid Items themselves. If I do that, then all rows are colored that color and I don't get my Blue selected rows color for selected rows. I would like to color the text in the grid something other than black.

I have a web application where I built a wizard, going from panel to panel.Besides using the Next, Previous buttons, one can use the Side Bar to select what panel to go to.The problem is that while the selected Panel's side bar button is Highlighted / Bolded, it is barely discernable to my client.Not only do they want the button highlighted, but they want the (selected) side bar button to change color as well.

I have a bunch of columns in a datagrid view (date, transaction type, amount).If the amount in a row is '150.00', I want to make that cell red.I made a Private Sub and run this after the datagridview is filled.

However it seems to have two bugs. When it is first run the first time when the form is loaded, it doesn't put the rows with 150.00 in it in red.If I have a button on the form and set it to run this Private Sub, then it runs through it again and will color the ones in 150 as red.If I resort the datagridview by clicking on a column, they all return to green again, and it looses the formatting.

How would I sort or filter the datagridview so that only cells that are color.red are viewable? What I have now shows all of the red and not red cells with the values <=0 else color.black. But if I were to put this on a button I would want only to see the color.red cells on the gridview.
