I'm creating a form that requires me to show the checked items in a CheckedListBox into a RichTextBox. I am able to do this with one checked item using:
ctlRichTextbox.Text = CheckedListBox.SelectedItem
Vut when I try
ctlRichTextbox.Text = CheckedListBox.SelectedItems
I get "Value of type System.Windows.Forms.Listbox.SelectedObjectCollection cannot be converted to String." How can I convert multiple checked boxes to a string?
I have a checked list box with lots of values and i need it so that when one of the items is ticked that a different box will display a value ie 50 so for instance i think it would be along the lines of
I'm attempting to create a fitness program with VB 2008 and I'm wondering how to make it so a checkbox is assigned a certain numerical value, then add all of the checked boxes together. My Codes are...
code for check boxes: Private Sub CheckBox1_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles CheckBox1.CheckedChanged End Sub
I am attempting to fill a form with multiple rows from an access table based off of a parameterized query. My query works fine but I don't want to return one row at a time, I want to return all rows that match my query in multiple text boxes. I know that I can use a datagrid view to accomplish this, but I would prefer the look of a textboxes on a form. I have read through many books and searched the internet forums but think I may just not know what to search for as nothing has worked yet. Can anyone point me in the right direction. So far I have tried setting the text box value to the row().item(), creating a different dataset for each row, and even setting variables for the results of the query to then be passed to the text boxes. Since none of this work, I don't really have any starting code to post. If I could just get a starting point I could work from there, so don't feel the need to code anything for me, just set me in the right direction.
Okay this is the simple thing I'm trying to accomplish. I can get richtextbox1 to add to listbox 1. but i cant get both to add. the compare works fine. I'm stumped.
This program is supposed to allow the user to check items in a checked list box. If the item is checked, it goes into the Completed List Box on the right. The program then adds the unchecked items to the Pending list box on the left. I keep getting placement values (e.g. O,1,2) instead of the strings (e.g. "Key Returned") in the list box results (see photo attached)
Public Class frmCheckOut Dim i As Integer Dim cleaning As String = "Cleaning Inspection" Dim damage As String = "Damage Repaired"
I am trying to display multiple check items from a listbox into a label seperated by a comma. Everything is working fine but the only problem is that when i check first item in the listbox nothing happens and when i check the second item then the label shows the first item. Then when i click third item the label shows the first and the second item and so on. When i uncheck the item it does the same
My question is why it does not show the items in the label as they are selected.
Private Sub lstMonths_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles lstMonths.SelectedIndexChanged Dim intX As Short
I have four textboxes that only accepts numeric data.On each box is a corresponding checkbox.I want to have a button that will get the total sum of all textboxes wherein their checkboxes are on checked state.
I have multiple textboxes with values..... The subtotal is populated and read only Freight and FOB charges when eithor is changed, needs to update the total.... What is the best logic for this?
I'm trying to place both three buttons one above the other, and three text boxes one above the other, and for some unknown reason, they will not show up at runtime. when I look at the properties of any of the text boxes, or the buttons, there is a property that sort of makes me wonder if it isn't the culprit, but it will not let me change it, the property states "array[]string" [Code]
I have a school project where i have a form that works as a class registration. There is cboGradeLevel and cboCourse and cboNumber. If cboGrade level is freshman i only want the numbers that start with 1 in cboName to be displayed, sophomore =2, junior =3, senior =3. Then i want cboCourse to work the same for the second number in cboNumber. english=1, history=2, math=3, science=4. So if freshman and history were selected i only want the numbers that start with 12- to be displayed. What can I use to make this happen?
I have five list boxes showing a field from a row in a dataset in each of the list boxes. When the list gets beyond the size of the list box a scroll bar is auto generated However, I would like to have just one scroll bar for the five boxes be shown if possible so when I scroll with that, all of them scroll
for reference purposes im working in visual basic express 2008.Im using the code below to print the content of richtextbox3 on my form.Is there a way of getting it to print the contents of richtextbox1 , richtextbox2, richtextbox4 & richtextbox5 as well?
Iv tried playing around with the code but i cant come up with anything that works.
I have a form with '7 text boxes' and '1 list box' (for country selection). Basically, i want the user to have to input data into all 7 text boxes but the list box has to contain a country from the drop down box (so the user cant just type random text into the list box)If all this ^ data has been met, then the 'button' is enabled. What would be the easiest way to implement this.
I am having a problem with validating multiple text boxes in using VB.net. I have all boxes validated to display errors if the calculate button is click and the boxes are blank and I have each individual text box to display an error message if the appropriate requirements (values) are not entered. The issue I am having, I don't want these errors to pop up when a user clicks the clear button to re-enter new values,in which this occurs on each box. Below is the code I have for validating each textbox. If a user clicks the clear button (in which clears all text boxes) I still have my errors displayed to them in which I don't want
Private Sub txtLoanAmount_TextChanged(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles txtLoanAmount.TextChanged If IsNumeric(Me.txtLoanAmount.Text) Then
I have a datagridview with checkboxes in the first column and I want to do a loop on saving the serialnumber(s) when the users decides to check a number of checkboxes Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
[Code]...
the problem with this code is that it only inserts the serial number of the LAST checked checkbox and the number of entries of it depends on the number of checked checkbox for example ... if I checked the rows with the serialnumber 123 and 55652341, first the row with the serial number 123 then second 55652341, only 55652341 appears in the database and it is entered twice(twice because two checkboxes are checked)
I have 4 checkboxes available, what I want is the user to be able to select as many of the four checkboxes. Each of the four checkboxes have a value, but when i set the code it only selects the first checkbox and only adds the first checkbox i select to the totals, rather then all selected checkboxes. The values have been set in the module and all the values appear correctly, they are just not adding all together when i select more than one checkboxHere is what I have in the calculate button.
Dim PriceDecimal, DiscountDecimal As Decimal 'Find Price of Service If MakeoverCheck
First i am pretty new to coding and everything so yeah...I wish to make a distance and fuel calculator as my project. Included will be multiple combo boxes with different sets of information (The manufacturer of the vehicle, model of vehicle, the vehicles fuel use per 100Km, its transmission type, users choice of where they will depart from and arrive etc.) Is it possible to achieve this without using a lot of combo boxes? I've experimented using if statements for example:
if combobox1.selected item = "Holden" then combobox2.visible = true (it's bad i know)
Then from this they would choose their model type in another combo box and then choose their transmission type etc..I don't want to use this because then it will mean i will have to do it for each and every combo box for each and every different set of data because making one 'visible = true' i will have to make the other 'visible = false' and this will cause problems when i start adding a lot onto it.
I know how to limit a single text box to numbers only but can I use the same sub for all my text boxes or do I have to have a sub for each whith the same code? I think I just need the proper syntax. Below is what I have that works for one on my text boxes:
Private Sub txtPitchRiseTC_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles txtPitchRiseTC.KeyPress ' allow only numbers and the Backspace key
Am currently piecing my programm together and working on structure. My plans will have me running multiple forms, and my question is this. When I have ,say ,on form1, a "TextBox1" and on another form a TextBox with the same name, will I have conflicts when I access data across forms. Should I be taking care to make sure textboxes and buttons names aren't being repeated,or will VB know what I want?
ok so What I am trying to do is have one combo box with employee name and once you choose the employee name for it to populate another combo box with the pay periods that the employee has in the database. So far I have that down and here is my code for it:
how to make this save multiple combo/text boxes instead of just one, here is my save code which
Private Sub SaveToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles SaveToolStripMenuItem.Click Dim Save As New SaveFileDialog
I have a very annoying problem and I'm trying to find the simplest solution possible, but I seem to keep complicating it.
My program displays a custom dialog box using the ShowDialog function (I create this form using a New constructor), but while my program waits for input in the dialogbox, my program continues to run other code, (I'm assuming initiated from other messages, but I still can't find good information on this, so as an aside to this topic does anyone have a reference about this), and arrives at this same point where the dialog box is to be displayed and displays it. So I end up getting a flood of dialog boxes.
My goal is prevent this excessive amount of dialog boxes. If the program arrives at this dialog initiation point I would like it to wait/pause until the first dialog box is finished.
The form has First Name, Last Name, Course and Email text box fields. First/Last Name must have no spaces, Course must consist of a three letters and two numbers in that order and nothing else(I want to avoid the use of masked text box), and Email must have the "@" sign and a dot. How would one make it so after clicking, say, Submit button and if there was a violation of any of the above rules then message box should pop up and tell the user which fields contain incorrect information.
Private Sub buttonAddNewStudent_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles buttonAddNewStudent.Click 'validation must be performed before the corresponding text box items will be placed inside an array
What would be the best way to manage multiple Picture Boxes?I am thinking an array, but if that is so, how would I build this array, and what would be stored in it?
