I'm creating a program that will copy a selected file to a selected directory, and I want to store recent files/dirs so that they can be selected from a combo box. I was planning to just create a settings with "files" and "dirs", and just store the strings as | separated values (since that's an illegal file character).

I've researched this a little bit and everything I've seen shows how to do this using a textbox within vb.Is there a simply command i can use within a windows form (vb) that will simply say "copy any text selected" essentially mimicking the CTRL + C. View 7 RepliesI have a Macro that prints Sales Vouchers, is it possible to attach the userform to an Email or write it to a file for later attaching to an email or even send the UserForm to Word again the aim is to transmit the voucher electronically rather than paper. My code at the moment is very simple: UserForm2.PrintForm which prints the form. I tried printing to a file but couldn't get it to work. I am guessing that printing to a file is for Text only and not bit by bit.

It returns the word and the scripture the word is in, but it also isreturning a bunch of weird text like: archan78988yykp etc etc. How do I onlyreturn the scripture with the searchedword, in this case the searched word is love. The following code allows words to be added to a listbox. Add the word to a text file and create a folder with the word as its name. The second part undoes the actions.If I try to delete the word immediately after adding it one of two things happen.
1.An error is reported stating the path cannot be found. Although the listbox index value is correct according to the code the error is pointing at that index +1.
2.The code continues to the point of requesting conformation to delete the folder, still pointing at the index value +1. I the action is confirmed the wrong folder is deleted.
However if I stop debugging, then run the code again all works correctly.Is it likely to persist when the application is compiled?

I have a label that is supposed to display a word for 5 seconds and then move down the list in a text file and display the next word.I'm oddly able to make it work in random mode, but not going down the list in order.. random would be ok if used words didn't come up again.

Ok so I have a combo box that lists a set of names. What I want to do is match a selected name to a text file and read from it. The text file contains the same name and has grades listed below:

Anyway, I decided to create a little program as a practice and to make my life a little bit easier, but because of my low skills, I'm a little stuck. I hope this isn't too confusing. But this is what I'm trying to do.I have a text box, a button, and a combo box. I want to do the following.
1. Enter text into the text box.
2. Press the button, the name from the text box appears in combo box.
3. The program takes the text from the text box, open a text file and searches the text file for that text.
4. Once found, the program identifies the line in the text file and copies only the first numbers (id) in the file until the comma.
5. The numbers are inserted into a variable under the combo box name from the text box.
6. When the name is selected in the combo box, a website opens up and adds the id at the end of the url.

I am working on a program using VB.Net 2010 which will enable me to setup groups of files & folders for back up with syncing capabilities etc. I have a concept program which is based on some sample code I found out in one of the VB.Net forums. I have modified it from a command line based program to a form based program. At the moment I consider this code to be a "concept" program which once I have the various copy/sync routines developed and debugged will be integrated in to another program I wrote for
creating "Back Up" groups to automate the process. There are some 3rd party programs that do similar things that I want to do such as Microsofts Sync Toy, but none of them offer the grouping and exclusions options that I am going to program in to this backup/sync program.
So here is my problem, I have the included code taking two folders, a source and a destination, and copying everything from the source to the destination. It will skip over any unchanged files/folders and will delete anything found in the destination folder that is not found in the source folder and it will update all files in the destination folder that have a newer version in the source folder. In other words it will mirror image the source to the destination but will be smart enough not to copy unchanged items from the source to the destination thereby saving a lot of time. The sync part of the program is working fine, the displaying of the progress and results is not.

What I want to do is that program gives to me all the "hello" are inside this text file, and I must list them in another text file,

So I found some code that I am customizing for my needs. So far I get it to browse for a Word file, open that file, and create XML from that document - right now it maps word styles to tags. So, if I had the word "Test" in the document, and it was bold, the output would be <b>Test</b>. Does anyone know of a good function for finding key words in a Word Doc, and then putting that into a tag? I want to make the code search for the line including Female, and then take the word in between the "", so I get false. Then I want to change that to True.

a. Search for a string/word in a text document(i.e "question)
b. When its found copy of text from that point to a point further down the document defined by a certain string ("a.")
c. after this is done it will continue to look for the next time the same string occurs (i.e. "question"") and continue as above?
I've figured out how to search for the word (question) but not managed to figure out the rest of it. Heres the code so far
