Jul 29, 2009I understand that implementing an UnDo/ReDo function can be complex using Stack operation/XML serialization.
That is why I have started to search for commercial tools/components, but I could find such tools only for RealBasic, not for VB.net. Does anyone know where to get such tool/component, or has good example code to include various undoable operation into an Undo/Redo function, that means undo operation for datagrid and chart manipulation (similar to a spreadsheet application).

Aug 18, 2009I'm trying to setup undo/redo for changes to a datagridview, but am having a problem with capturing the cell value before it is changed. I am currently using the CellEnter event to capture the original value, which is fine if only one cell is affected. However, if the user selects multiple cells and goes to cut the data (Ctrl-X), CellEnter does not fire for each of the selected sells, only the ones moused over it seems. Is there a better way to capture each cell value before their CellValueChanged event fires?

Increase RichTextBox Undo / Redo Limit
Apr 30, 2012I was wondering if there is a way to modify the limit on the number of undo/redo actions a RichTextBox is capable of performing. It seems as though the limit is around 100, and I really need to increase this because of the demands of my application. I have text formatting (Bold, Underline, etc.) in my application, and since you can change the font of the text, I need to loop through the characters in the SelectedText one-by-one and apply the correct formatting to them in order to prevent any errors from appearing. Every time a single character is formatted, it counts as an action. As you can imagine, this quickly adds up and therefore makes my undo/redo features not as useful as I'd hope with the 100-action limit. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Apr 4, 2011basically add and remove text and selection information from a stack. Result: When using Undo/Redo the selection got messed up, the text moved, sometimes causing lag of epic proportions. I need a way of having complete and smooth undo/redo class for storing all information I would possible need.How to know whether or not to add an undo stack is easy, I just checked if the user clicked in the text or moved using the arrow keys. As soon a previous marking was given for "next text change needs to be backed up", it was backed up. At that point I stored the RTF and selection start/length. What do I have to store of a RichTextbox control to be able to restore it to a previous state, and how can I reset it back to a previous state? See it as having a "RichTextBoxState" class:

Nov 20, 2011I have a small copy/paste type of program. You put text in the boxes, click copy and it copies it to the clipboard. I have a text file attached to format the text when it is copied. what I want to accomplish is...If I don't fill in every single textbox with text, I don't want that particular field to show when I paste it. Example, I have the layout like below on the text document.
textbox1.
textbox2.
textbox3.
No matter what, when I click copy, the text document is going to copy textbox1,2,and 3. If I only put text in textbox 1 and 3, I don't want it to copy textbox2 if its empty.

Apr 21, 2010Is there a way to undo "Build" or "Publish" actions (like unbuilding/unpublishing) in order to get the original files/folders of the application? I am creating a program for a homework assignment and we aren't supposed to build or publish our applications but I didn't save my project before building and publishing it (out of curiosity) and I didn't upload the application's folder to the FTP server before so now there are "extra" files and folders (created during the build/publish process) and I don't know which ones are the "extras" and which I need to upload.

Copy And Paste Macro?
Aug 5, 2010In my Sheet1, i will be having a data From column A to F and in Colunm D (The Red one) it will be empty, The data can be 10 rows or might be more the 60 rows sometimes and in Column I i will have some more Data.
Now i need a macro where in sheet 2, Automatically the Lines from Column A to F should get pasted and it shlould take the Column D from column I. Once the Total line are pasted the it should go for next list of Column I.
Exm: IF i have 50 lines in Column F and in Column I i have 5 lines Then i should get the result of (50x5=250 lines) 250 lines each of 50 as per Column I.

Copy/Paste In DataGridView?
Nov 3, 2008I have a datagridview and I would like to be able to select an entire row by clicking on the row header column, hit CTRL+C, then put the cursor in the next row, and hit CTRL+V to paste the contents.
Right now, it pastes all of the contents into the first cell of the new row. If I paste the contents to the clipboard, I see them correctly and they are tab delimited.
Once I get this working. I would like to be able to copy and past multiple rows at a time.
FYI, I am not using a data source at all. Most of the rows are combo boxes where a user is selecting values. There is no database connection.

Dec 30, 2010I have an problem with copy and paste between 2 richtextboxes part of the problem is if I new the 2nd Richtextbox actual name I could paste it using rtf format because I have so many of them I use a loop to go through the controls until I find the right one using typeOf control. The problem is with that that it really doesn't act as a richtextbox. See code below.
