Create Directory To Manage And Organize Music (MP3 Files)

I'm trying to create a program that will manage and organize my music (mp3) files. So I used a ListView (SongList) to show the files that are in my music directory. Then I'm using a class found online to get the Title, Artist, and Album. Then it will insert it into the ListView and assign it a tag with the same value. But then when you hit the button to start the organizing the real problems start.
What it is suppose to do is check if the chosen directory exists then if it does it will create a folder for the artist of the song it is processing then a folder for the album then copy and rename (title) the song into that folder, then move onto the next song. But when it tries to create the directory it says there are invalid characters but there aren't. Also for some reason it wont put the Album name into the string for the directory???

how I would be able to make the click of a button scan a certain directory for certain files like .txt files, and display those files in a text box, or if not a text box some other viewer.

How best to manage multiple dat files for serializable objects of the same class. If one of my data files goes past a particular size, I want to create a new file. I then loop through both files when I do processing. Is there any easier way to do this and what's the best size to do this at in terms of performance?
What is the best way for me to have several datasets ?i've thought about creating a routine for creating datasets with a number in their names, each one with the desired data, but that's not very intelligent (although might work)i'd like to create what would be like an "ARRAY OF DATASETS"

(obs, i've done the same code loading one XML to one dataset and it works perfectly, i've gone back and forth more than one time to assure that it isn't just a logical mistake, it's syntax and lack of programming knowlegde.
I've created some messy code to look at the Readystate of each WebBrowser control and using boolean variable to track which WebBrowser control is done what. The time it takes to load 1000 URL's with one WebBrowser control is about 10 minutes. Multiple controls are needed for speed.

I have a sansa fuze and i have to make my own playlist for it so i want to have the program read the songs that are on there and show it to you in the list box and you can check off the ones you want then it will read the mp3 files to make the playlist, it needs the path, name, and duration from the mp3 file. i can get the name and the path so far...
I have an application and in this application there is a search option. I want the seach to search for all music and video files. I keep getting UnauthorizedAccessException error and I'm assuming its because my application is trying to access a file for witch access is being denied. This is the code that I am using.tbsearch is textbox and results is the listbox that the search results get added to.

Also, how can't I make it so that only the name of the file found is added, not the full path. I know that I could instead of using file.FullName use file.Name but then I can play the media file because the application wont know where to find it. Any code that I could use to add only the found file name to the listox? Perhaps I need another hidden listbox that get the full name and then the results listbox retrieves only the last part of the path?
I have a doubt. I'd like to make a program where you can drag music files (mp3, flac, wav, wma..) and video files (avi, mpeg, mp4, vob, mov) and get the property values of this ones... For example, bitrate, KBps, size, etc, to put them in textbox or listboxes.
My VB project is large enough that it requires several files. It was originally developed as a Console App and I created each file as a MODULE. All modules could use subroutines, data structures and constants from other MODULES and everything worked fine. I needed to add basic windowing to the app and this required that the app be converted from a Console App to a Windows Forms App. The main window is Form1 which is not a MODULE but a CLASS. The problem is that some MODULE based functions cannot access subroutines, data and constants that are defined within the CLASS Form1 unless they are incorporated into the CLASS file and this makes the CLASS file very large. If I add a new Class file to the project, it also cannot interoperate with Class Form1 in the same way that multi-MODULE code interoperates.
How does one spread CLASS code across several files and still allow it to interoperate as if it were in a single file? Alternatively, how does one create several CLASS files that operate the way multiple MODULE files operate.I am sure that there are all kinds of best practices that I am violating but the goal to to get some prototype software working and interfaced to some lab equipment.
Im a new in this VS2008. But i have some foundation of programming in VB6.0. So im planning to create this application using VB since im familiar in that language.I downloaded a Visual Studio 2008 and SP1 - now on its 90-day trial, and planning to buy the full version depending if it will meet my needs. I need to make an application something like a reporting system, my plan application is a client-server application. Currently im reading the How to topics and some walkthroughs so far so good. Now here are some sort of details and target need to fulfill.
1. An interface from client that will input the data from the multiple-user , including images and these data will be saved in database/table remote server (center database server) LAN.
I am going to need to create a windows form for work that we can connect to a database table, select a directory and move files from the directory that are in the table and move to another folder. The directory will have sub directories that I need to search for the file name and move. I would like to have the table hold the file name (or path) and move all files that are in the database. There might be 20 files or 1000. Depends on the client we are processing for.
Hey guys, I'm a new guy in VB.NET. I am proposing my final year project a title called music studio. My version of music studio is like real music video where we can play many sound at any time. For example, the application that I want to build can create many button and also add an audio along with it. And then, when we hit the 1st button, it play 1st audio. while 1st audio play, we also can hit 2nd button and 2nd audio is playing. for example, 1st audio is sound of man walking, and then 2nd audio is the sound of glass break. lastly 3rd sound sound of police siren play. Is it cool? so, my question is, is it possible the I can build an application by using VB.NET?

I'll tell you what I'd like to do which is to create a directory listing of every file inside a specified directory and then use a loop to upload each file in this directory to a remote folder via FTP.

I am a beginner on Visual Basic but was able to create the 'skeleton' of the application I need to build. Basically, it is an application dedicated to keeping a check on the vinyl I have. When I buy a new record, I want to effectively 'Add New Record' on Visual Basic and be greeted with a page consisting of various forms such as 'Artist' and Title'. Once these are filled in, I want to click 'Enter' and for all that information to be converted to one of the pages within my application.
Here's an easier look at it... There are LPs that have 10" and 12" sections. There are singles that have 7" and 12" sections.
In the 'Add New Record' page I want to also have a drop down list with the above elements in, once 12" LP is selected and all the other forms are filled in and I click 'Enter' - I want the application to send it to the 12" LP section of the application.
I am trying to enable the user the ability to select a folder and the folders music files populate a list box. I want two list boxes on the page, one with all the contents of the folder and then the other one for files selected from the first box. I have no clue on how to do this at all.

I have a SQL Server table with a list of files (path + filename), and a folder with multiple layers and files in each layer. I'm looking for a way to reconcile the two without having to process the list twice. Currently, I'm doing this:

Is there a better way to do this? I'd like to avoid converting all the matching files (of which most will be) to FileInfo objects twice. Since I'm a T-SQL developer first, I'm picturing something like an OUTER JOIN of the two lists where they don't match. Something LINQ-ish?

My problem is i have a method on deleting a file and copying a file, but i don't know how to pass the method so that when i click the delete button it would let me choose what file to delete.
