Does anyone know on how to create a new folder. And it will require the user where he/she will create it?
I have a Dirlistbox, then for example the user open a folder from the Dirlistbox then she/he decides that they want to create a folder in that path.
I installed the new one. I then imported an old project made using vb 2008 EE.I found that a few errors were reported.In the project I addressed some function from a dll called "rsource.dll". I used the following function call:Public Declare Function rs_init Lib "rsource.dll" Alias "init" () As Double.The other different thing is the projevt was developed on a 32 bit OS but since then I have upgraded to 64bit (if this makes any difference). he other thing is where is the debugger PAUSE button. has it been removed from vb 2010?Also when i run debug it seems to create the exe in the Build output target folder instead of the default bindebug folder why is this?

View 3 RepliesI have a sub in my app that creates a folder called logs. I'd like to ask the user where they want to create the folder (explorer?) maybe even let them name it whatever they want. Also there will be text files created in that folder, so they will have to be saved in whatever folder the user creates.

i got some issues with a app i want to create Okey i have this app, and it supposed to load a .xls excel worksheet.And in this worksheet i will have something of this structure [url]So i want A1 to create a folder with the name of what is in A1 cell, then create a sub directory in that folder with the name of B1 and a sub directory in that with C1 etc until there is a empty field in whatever comes next.then repeat the process for A2 and A3 and so on. View 18 RepliesNetShareAdd API from a VB.NET application (.NET version 2.0) and although I can get the API to just create a basic shared folder I now want to create a shared folder and specify its Share permissions (not NTFS permissions) as well, which means I have to pass in a SHARE_INFO_502 structure rather than just a SHARE_INFO_2 like I was previously doing for creating a basic share. I have spent over 5 hours solid just trying to get this working and am getting to the point now where I really cant think of anything else to try.I've encountered several problems whilst trying to make this work but the one I am finally stuck on is this: When I call NetShareAdd it returns the error INVALID_PARAMETER and the parm_ err object (which is supposed to specify which member of the SHARE_INFO_502 structure caused the error) holds the value 501. I know it is something to do with the security descriptor because if I comment out the line where I set the SHARE_INFO_502 structure's shi502_ security_descriptor field then the code works without an error (just obviously does not set the share permissons I want).I think posting all of the code here might be a bad idea as its currently over 150 lines long (yes that is only code for getting this API working...) so I'll just post my definitions of the SECURITY_DESCRIPTOR structure and the code I am actually using to call the various APIs involved: [code] Each of those API calls prior to NetShareAdd returns a non-error value in the Debug.WriteLine that is done after each one, but there is obviously an issue somewhere with the security descriptor.

View 1 RepliesI was googling / searching the forums for this type of code.I want to be able create a folder within my application folder, mainly because I don't want people using my program to use a specified path to be able to use my program.
Example,If I would using a specified path It would be ("C:/Macbrutal/Foldername")And the user who would install my application surely, doesn't have macbrutal as username for windows so their path would be ("C:/User/Foldername") and that would bring my program an error, if you get me.
So to brake it down a little, Let's say my path for my program is ("C:/Macbrutal") I want my program to generate a folder where my application is located (not with specified path) which would be (C:/Macbrutal/newfolder")
