Can forms be put into folders (inside Vb 2010) and still be accessed?For example.. the resources are contained in a folder inside the solution explorer...am i able to create a folder that can contain forms?

View 1 RepliesIf I have a large number of classes, each similar to the other in certain aspects (they all share a common base class, but each does things differently), and I need to create Windows forms for each to allow easy changing of their values through a GUI? Create one matching form for each object in VS' forms designer, Or Use code to create the forms dynamically at runtime.
#2 makes the most sense to me, because a lot of these objects will share very common features of the form, notably "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons. But one object might need to draw a textbox on the form while another might need to draw a combobox. Not to mention, if I want to put icons on the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons, I'd have to do this for each copy of the form in designer, and that sounds like it could get out of hand quickly.But is drawing forms through code sane? VS' forms designer is pretty sophisticated and designed to make life easier. Am I wise to consider ignoring its functionality and diving into the trench warfare of forms design through code? Or are there examples of automating form creation based on an existing object's properties?
I installed the new one. I then imported an old project made using vb 2008 EE.I found that a few errors were reported.In the project I addressed some function from a dll called "rsource.dll". I used the following function call:Public Declare Function rs_init Lib "rsource.dll" Alias "init" () As Double.The other different thing is the projevt was developed on a 32 bit OS but since then I have upgraded to 64bit (if this makes any difference). he other thing is where is the debugger PAUSE button. has it been removed from vb 2010?Also when i run debug it seems to create the exe in the Build output target folder instead of the default bindebug folder why is this?

View 3 RepliesI've designed my own encryption application in VB 2008 that has a free tools section where users can choose a particular wizard to use from the drop down. The javascript wizards display the code required to put in their own sites. I already created wizards that users can well, use.I see people have their own "contact form wizards" on their websites all the time. Where users can use the wizard and get the displayed code to copy and paste on their sites. But trying to locate source codes to these things is very aggravating on the web.So what I want to do is create my own "form wizard" like out of javascript, that allows the user to put in some information then get the displayed code to put in their own websites. I'm not looking for the generator such as the online form generators.But the javascript source code(s) for the generator itself.Then I could simply put a form generator inside of my VB-app, that will allow the user to use the wizard, then get the html code to paste in their own sites. Preferably not the PHP one because the php backend is very difficult to put in a VB app.I know that it can be done. For example copying a web pages source code then putting it inside a string, then calling that string from a button click that will open the javascript page in the webbrowser inside the VB app.

View 3 RepliesI hava a form app, that runs hidden, with just a notify icon, the goal is control worker schedule and alert them for some things they have to do.My problem is,when i open a form (with TopMost = True), it works if the user is admin of the machine or domain admin, if the user is "regular" user, the form just don't open or shown to the screen.I believe that it has got something to do with write permissions in the app folder. I have a contextmenu that works great, even restoring the hidden main form, it just doesn't show/open the other form, without any error.Shouldn't .net use the user $temp folder to write something? If not what's the best way for the app use the EnvironmentVariable("temp")?

I cannot get the URL value of the webbrowser (FavProgs) to take the value of directoryname. If I set the URL value in the properties for FavProgs it does what I want it to do perfectly.
How can I allow the user to create a new folder and tell it where to be saved? I was thinking of using the savedialog but I don't know how to use it for folders instead of files.
View 3 RepliesI have a sub in my app that creates a folder called logs. I'd like to ask the user where they want to create the folder (explorer?) maybe even let them name it whatever they want. Also there will be text files created in that folder, so they will have to be saved in whatever folder the user creates.
