I have an error at olapAdaptor.Fill(ds).It's out of memory error.I tried to dispose, set to nothing,... but no results. Can someone please look at my code and help me where I do it wrong.The code opens a database and exports all the tables in ascii format seperated by vbtab. My text file is something like what you see below, and I want to populate the datagrid. Once I populate the datagrid, I'll use that kind of like an excel spreadsheet in the sense that I'll dip in and grab values based on row and column index to display to the user. I was updating my customer list by Importing 2 tables from the customer database, a series of queries would erase all of my info, take all the data from the imported tables and move it into mine then erase the imported tables.
Im trying to accomplish the same in my VB frontend. I can connect and fill datasets from the customer database. I can erase my tables. How do I take all of this data from the newly created dataset and move it over to my empty tables?

Well, my problems is follow. I use a textbox where the user can enter a text but which I would like to prefill out with a variable (later , with more experience, want to ask the AD for the username and put it in the box).
That means, when the user runs the app, automatically is the username written in the textbox without pushing a button but the user has the opportunity to change it (For example doesnt want the second surname).
I have a DataGridView (dgv) on a Windows form (VB.NET) which is bound to a datatable. One of the bound columns is a an ID (Foreign Key) to another datatable. All I want to do is Hide the ID column and populate an unbound column with the Name (ParmName) for the user. I searched the foreign value in the datatable and retrieved the information. I set the Value of the cell in the Datarow. All works well, but does not display. The cell accepts the value...I can even Debug.Print the values to the console. They are there just nothing displaying in DataGridView. Nothing odd about DataGridView. Should be straight forward...

My first problem was in my code where I would get the common error message of Too many arguments to public overrides overloadable. I solved that error message by going into the dataset designer, selecting the query and adding RegDate as a parameter. I am using VB 2010 with an Access 2010 database. The Access table is the data source for a DataGridView created by dragging the table from the DataSet onto the form. The table has 3 columns - First, Last and DOB (Date of Birth). I want to have a column in each row to show the person's age. I added an unbound cell in the DataGridView called Age, but cannot figure out how to fill the cell with the information I need. I tried using the DataName property, but that will only allow me to enter columns already in the grid. I think what I need to do is fill this cell (Age) by a value computed from DateDiff(DateInterval.Year, DOB, Now), but I cannot figure out how to do so.

View 7 RepliesI have a database with values as shown in the attached image "Image1.jpg". There are multiple other columns not shown on the screenshot (over 30), for the sake of this question we'll say I'm interested in columns called "Col1", "Col2", "Col3" & "Col4".
I was able to get this information automatically filled into a TreeView as shown on attached image "Image2.jpg".
At this point I also want to fill a DataGridView from the same database.
