I have just installed VB.Net 2005 to do my Uni project at home.Why cant I find the Data Control in the the tool box and nothing when I press CTRL and T..I need to define the ado control name but having no luck as yet.

View 10 RepliesI am using a 3rd part dll file (SolidWorks EModelView.dll, COM file) that has a version of 9.2.0.128. When I add it to the resources for the application, however, the AxInteropEModelView.DLL and InteropEModelView.DLL references show a version of 9.0.0.0. When I install the application on a client machine and try to run it, the application says it cannot find AxInteropEModelView.DLL version 9.2.0.128!

I'm not sure how to go about telling the program to detect the KeyUp (or would it be KeyDown?) from anywhere in the program (for example, not just in the Private Sub of a text box but rather for the entire form). it enters a tab character even if I set the AcceptsTab property to false?
I set the MultiLine property to true, and AcceptsTab property to false.
When i test a project i usually press Ctrl+Break to pause the execution to change a value here or there, but unfortunately VB opens a new tab titled "No Source Available" and it become difficult to back to the tab that i was working with specially when there are a lot of opening tabs.
Is there any option to stay on the current tab when pressing Ctrl+Break?

Unfortuantly the user that is running the tool doesnt have access and I cant give access to those particular machines. What I have done is created a user on these machines that can get this information.
I would like to then have the reporting tool run certain parts of the code as this user so the information can be obtained, without any intervention from the user running the tool. Can I hardcode this user into the code so that it runs the code as the user?
At work we have this really old excel spreadsheet with movable points in it.This feature no longer works in '07 so I have decided to try and make a VB form to replicate it's functionality.I have the concept down of what I'm gonna do, I'm using sliders for the movable points and I'm using a data grid view for all of the numbers they are just going to type in, and then I have a button that saves all of the data to the database that it links with.I've figured out how to get everything working except the button that saves the data. So there are 4 separate databases attached to sliders and another one that is part of the data grid view. What am I going to have to put into that button under the click event in order to make it save the values in all of these databases?

I have googled and found some functions which is quite similar, but I have an issue which for eg.
My multiline textbox contains a lot of text with scrollbar, somehow the text I want to find is in the middle, when I click the find button, the word is indeed found and highlight, but the scrollbar still remain on top.
I wonder how can I make the find adjust the scrollbar as well?

I am creating a reporting app that pulls information off of a Sql database and populates the data in a datagridview control (DVG). I am using tab pages (Tabcontrol), and I have about 10 tabs with within the control. What I have done is created a dynamic control that will populate in each tab page once the tab is selected. I am using a split container and in my split container.panel 1 is where all my buttons and search functionality will be. In my split container.panel2 to is where the main DGV control will be. I have got this to function properly, however now I am unable to add anything to my split container.panel1. I would like to add diffrent labels and buttons in the panel1 one without putting another panel on top of the split container.panel1, and also if i do this when I resize my container the panel will just sit there. I am using the selected index changed event to get my split container to show in each of the diffrent tabs

Where A, B, and C are my column headers.
I also have a 'ListBox' on the form. What I would like to do is, allow the user to select one, two, or three rows (or all) in the datagrid, and press a button that will move the data from selected rows into my listbox (each row its own string in the list box).
I can populate the datagrib easy enough, but don't know how to access the cell data individually?

I didn't find any solution for the problem but found a hack in Control.ModifierKeys, this works until now!
using the getasynckeystate for ctrl + c and ctrl+ v or copy and paste..How will I do that in this code? For example when i type in notepad it should also do in the richtextbox with this code it work but when it comes to copy and paste word in notepad it does not works and the richtextbox is empty?
