DataGridView With Combobox's Datasource From Enum?

Feb 17, 2010

public Enum ClaimStatus
Ongoing = 0
Completed = 1

[Code]....

With code above, how do I assign the value to the combobox while retrieving data from the table so that it point to the corresponding combobox item. For example, if the value of status_ID is 1 then the combobox should show "completed" in the datagridview.

WPF - Binding Converted Enum To ComboBox

Apr 7, 2011

I tried to bind the following Enum to a ComboBox
Public Enum PossibleActions
ActionRead
ActionWrite
ActionVerify
End Enum

I can't change the Enum itself, but I do not want to display these strings. My intention is just to cut the prefix 'Action' and display 'Read', 'Write' and 'Verify' in the ComboBox.

Therefore I wrote a ValueConverter
Public Class PossibleActionsConverter
Implements IValueConverter
Public Function Convert(ByVal value As Object, ByVal targetType As System.Type, ByVal parameter As Object, ByVal culture As System.Globalization.CultureInfo) As Object Implements System.Windows.Data.IValueConverter.Convert

VS 2010 - Connecting ComboBox With Enum Kept In Another Class?

Jul 21, 2011

How to connect a combo box and an enum which is kept in another class? I have searched google a lot but the only solutions I can seem to find involve declaring an enum with the combo box. I however want to keep my enum elsewhere, not in the main gui element handling form. The closet thing I could guess was:
Combox99.DataSource = System.Enum.GetValues(GetType(MyBookList.OptionsList)
With MyBookList as a previously defined instance of the BookList class.

DataGridView - Nonvisible Rows Are Still Visible And The DataGridView Is Empty Despite Having A DataSource

Jul 30, 2009

I have several problems with rows in a DataGridView. Background information: The DataGridView (DataGridViewCalib) is in one TabPage of a TabControl, some columns of the DataGridView are automatically DataGridViewCheckBoxColumn as the DataSource have some colums which are Boolean. This is a Windows Form written in VB.Net with Visual Studio 2008. The user loads an input data file.

The problems:

1) At first arrival in the TabPage, ShowDataGridViewCalib (code below) is called. All rows are then shown in the DataGridView, despite the code saying that some rows should not be visible. Breakpoints in the code show that the code do arrive at the Rows.Visible = False events. Despite all rows beeing shown a Watch in the debugger shows that:

[code]...

There are two alternative ways of handling the rows in the code. The first attempt (commented away here) is probably the "nicest".

Asp.net - Make Enum Bindable To Datagridview

Dec 10, 2009

I have an object which contains a number of string properties and an enum property called CRAction.

I have another object which represents a collection of the above object.

When I bind the collection object to something like a gridview, all of the string properties bind fine, but the enum doesn't appear.

I have added another string property which returns CRAction.ToString, but is there a better way to make an enum bindable to a control as part of an object?

It all seems a little hackish to have another property for the same thing purely for data binding!

VS 2010 ComboBox DataSource And AutoComplete?

Aug 24, 2011

I have a ComboBox which is bound with a DataSource from (obviously) a Database. However, there are 659 different entries inside this Database and I was hoping to tack on AutoComplete.

I tried setting the Source to the ListItems since, after initialization and the data is bound, all the items necessary are in fact inside the ComboBox so I had assumed that it would pick that up. I was wrong. I tried using a Custom source but VS errored out saying that I couldn't do that since the ComboBox was bound.

My question is, how can I utilize AutoComplete's "Suggest" mode with a bound ComboBox?

Get Datagridview Table Row When Datagridview Datasource Is DataTable?

Dec 8, 2010

My application must display some data in Datagridview (status of COM ports communication) and i Used .mdb databases before for faster search and Datagridview update. How i understand Datagridview is importing data from DataTable and data in DataTable is imported from .mdb file, so i decided to make shortcut - stop to using .mdb file (data must be erased every time application start and it is useless make .mdb file and erase it every time, becouse it is increasing even when drop is used) and using only DataTable..

I want to row in Datagridview change it color to red when it's Collumn(6).text countains %error% string..

When Error in COM port is starting, i can fast find row in DataTable for that port and write information that Error accured for that port and DataGridview automatically updates:

Dim RRow as () DataRow
RRow = ds.Select("Port = 'COM3')
RRow(0).Item(6) = "Error Opening COM3"

.net - Set A Code Object As The DataSource For A ComboBox, Using XAML?

Sep 24, 2010

I've gotten to a point where I'm trying to add a ComboBox to a UserControl, and to populate it from a collection which exists in code.

I've been getting along pretty much on monkey-see-monkey-do coding for the most part; copying and adapting existing code in order to get the next stage working, but this DataSource stuff has me stumped. I've been through a whole bunch of articles on MSDN this morning and am no closer to understanding than I was when I started.

Let me go through a few of the things that are messing with me, and hopefully you guys will be able to point me in the right direction:

1) None of the [UserControlName].vb files contains any code. All of the code for the UserControls is stored in [UserControlName]Model.vb files, and then code of the following sort is used:

<UserControl
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:l="clr-namespace:MySolution"

[Code]....

1.5) (using bullet points means I can't use <> brackets or code blocks later on. What the hell, markdown?) Anyway...

2) I'm pretty sure I only want a Static Source for the moment, as the items in the ComboBox aren't going to change during execution, at this time. Problem is, all the articles I can find about this are gigantic, complex things about creating XML readers, and populating DataGridViews and sorting data, and on and on and on. I just want to declare that I'm using a frealing List! A List I've already created in code.

So, yeah, I basically need to use a Public Property ComboBoxLines As List(Of String) from a class which isn't the same class as the UserControl itself as the DataSource for a ComboBox.

C# - Dynamic ComboBox Datasource Form Load

Oct 21, 2010

I'm creating a dynamic combo box and adding to a form. I'm trying to fill the combo box with a DataSource from an ArrayList and then selecting an item in the combo box based off a value from a property.Problem is, the combo box items don't get bound until after the Form_Load event has finished and the form is visible. So the combo box is empty when I try to set the selected index of the combo box. See code for what I'm doing in detail, and refer to comments in

[code]...

How to select the right selected index for combo box without a hack (Load timer or something stupid like that)?
