which makes the imageData variable as an object.But How do i do this in Visual Basic??

To declare an object in JS i can simply do the following:
var house = new Object();
house.window="square"
house.color="green"
In asp.net (VB) if i try doing the same
Dim house = new Object()
house.window="square"
i get an error: System.MissingMemberException: Public member 'window' on type 'Object' not found.
Do i have to create a house class before i can reference house.window? Is there no way to do it without creating a class?

When i run the above example i get an error like: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I put "isolated context" in quotes because I don't know what else you would call it. Basically, in C#, you can do this:

The curly braces create an isolated context which allows you to declare two variables with the same name in the same method or property logic. Is this possible in VB.NET? Also, what do you call this aside from an isolated context?

I want to allow my user to add certain small pictures into a form which has a bigger pictures. My idea is to simply allow the user to move small pictureboxes that is set on the top of the form to wherever she wants it to be. Function LoadLanguage must be called when the application loads, in order to access once to database. After that property GetWord must access to the collection with the words and return the result. The problem is that the instances are not the same and the dictionary is not loaded when a class uses it.

View 4 RepliesMy app is a classic vb6 app. I have distilled my problem down to fact that an activeX control can't be registered on Win 2008 64 Bit using Regsvr32 but can be registered on Win 2008 32 bit and on Windows 7, Vista, XP/Pro, Win 2000 etc. The classic vb6 app works well on every Microsoft platform except Win 2008 64 Bit. Some Win 2008 64 Bit systems seem to work and we're not sure why, but many don't. The application fails with 429 error when run and when you try to manually register the activex component using regsvr32, the registration process hangs with this result[code]...
View 2 RepliesI'm attempting to create a customized dictionary object, because I want to add some code to the Add routine, and I can't just inherit because Add is not overridable.
So I'm creating a class that implements IDictionary. Already I am confused, because Dictionary implements a lot of interfaces, listed below:
Implements IDictionary(Of TKey, TValue), ICollection(Of KeyValuePair(Of TKey, TValue)), _
IEnumerable(Of KeyValuePair(Of TKey, TValue)), IDictionary, ICollection, _
IEnumerable, ISerializable, IDeserializationCallback
But IDictionary inherits ICollection and IEnumerable, so why implement all three (and don't they have overlapping methods)?
#2, when I implement IDictionary, the code fills in two Add methods (one for the ICollection add of a keyvaluepair, one for the Idictionary method). Apparently both these add methods are required for Idictionary, yet a regular dictionary (which implements IDictionary) only has one Add method that I can see. I actually would like to have only one Add method if possible. Why am I being asked to make two (and that's before all the other interfaces have been added)?

would this create 2 new pages that i can "customize" separately and add different controls to each? heres a brief description of what i want to happen:the user will be viewing Page1 and when he clicks btnCreate i want a page that i created in the designer to be shown and its name and other variables to be determined by what the user chose for room options in Page1. i need "new versions" of this page to be created because multiple users will be creating multiple rooms. i understand that there are more lines of code involved in creating pages and i do have more questions regarding those but i will wait until i confirm that dim Page2 as new Page1 will create a new page. like i said im sure that this does create a new page but i need confirmation. also if it does create a new page, how do i get it to show. i know that response.redirect will redirect me to a dif page but i want show this new room on top of the old one.
