Feb 6, 2009I need to write and SQL query that three from three linked tables. Basically there is a 'case_id' column in each table with matching values.
What I have is:

As you can see I have the same query in the "in" clause for each statement. Is there a way to normalise this, sort of like C macro. Basically I'd just to define the inner select statement once and use it multiple times.
SQL Performance Timeouts - Adding Multiple Rows In Multiple Tables In The Database
Sep 12, 2011I have a vb.net web application and when a particular function runs , i get data timeouts in the rest of the application..(ie..row not found errors or column does not belong to table but it does) The function is adding multiple rows in multiple tables in the database and is running in a for loop. It seems to be all SQL related but I am not seeing anything in the error logs in SQL or in the application Right now I am assuming it is memory related where to start note..the for loop will be replaced with a bulk insert but right now I jest need to resolve the issue of the timeouts

Mar 26, 2009how to create a local database, create some tables and set relations between those tables (just like in access) and I can show, add, edit and delete that data from a form.
but what I have yet to figure out is if I have 2 tables (i.e: tbleName, tblFood) and I want to have multiple tblFood items show for every 1 tblName item.
I've found that if I add a txtbox of the name table and a datagrid of the food table, the datagrid view shows all the food records, not just the ones for the name txtbox.

Database - How To Deal With Inserting Values Into Two Tables When Exception Occurs
Jul 21, 2010I have 2 tables loginInfo and UserInfo. LoginInfo Stores username and passwords while userinfo stores other user details such as Address,postalcode,phone etc.
I insert values into loginInfo first and if successful I enter the userInfo details. If exception occurs while entering details into userInfo i delete the loginInfo details.
This is how I do now

Merging Fields From Multiple Tables In Database Into One Field In A New Table?
May 11, 2011I'm looking for a way to combine a field from multiple tables into a single field in a new table. Because the data populating the tables is coming from an outside source, I would prefer not to change the data in the original files. I have a separate table for each year because this is the way the data is provided. The field layout is not consistent from year to year, but each year there is a field that we'll call "score." I'd like to pull the field "score" from each year's table and have it populate a "score" column in a new table along with the year of the data so that all the years' scores are in the same place. Is there a way to do this using Visual Basic + Access?

Timeout Using SQLite - Create A Database And Several Tables - To Populate The Tables With Data From Arrays
Jul 25, 2012I am using VS2008 and SQLite. I have created a database and several tables and am attempting to populate the tables with data from arrays.
The following code (example) works fine but stops after it inserts 30 to 50 records. I am running the VB code in debug mode and when it stops, I press pause to see where it is. It stops on "SQLcommand.ExecuteNonQuery()" and when I press continue (F5) it will insert another 30 to 50 records.
I do not get an error message. Is this a timeout issue? How do I keep the loop running to the end of the array?

Therefore, StudentID is the primary key in the former whereas it is a foreign key in the latter.Now I've tried each of the following codes but each of the first two gives an error message "Incorrect syntax near 'a'" and in the case of the third one DbTransaction as in "Dim trans As DbTransaction" is also not a valid type. I'm using SQL Server 2008 Professional Edition.

SQL Sum Values From 2 Tables?
Aug 1, 2010I have a table called Invoices with a debit and credit column, and a payment table with a Debit and credit Colum, When Retrieving the Account Balance i need to Sum the INvoices by the account Number and then sum the payments by the account NUmber by Sum(Debit) - Sum(Credit) if the account is a receivables or Sum(Credit) - Sum(Debit) if the account is a payables, but i also have to filter to not include Deleted Accounts (Delete Flag = true) and not coun any disputed records (Disputed = true) in either the invoices or payments table. I know how to do this with a single table.
Select Sum(Debit) - Sum(Credit) From Invoices WHERE(Disputed = False and Deleted = False AND AccountNumber = @AccountNumber).
My Goal is to get the Account Balance by summing up the Invoices and payments and subtracting the All Debits from All Credits if Receivables or All Credits From All Debits if Payables.
