Oct 14, 2011I have a chart in Excel that I'd like to use a subtitle on. There is no SubTitle Property on the chart object, so I looked in the Excel User interface and found that you can only create a sub-title by using a text box. The text box looks like its associated with the chart, not the worksheet, so how would I access that text box from code?

Jun 23, 2011How do I link data in an Excel spreadsheet to a chart object in Visual Basic 2010? Really basic here, I just want to draw a single simple line chart from a single column of data. Is it easier just to read the data into an array (which I can do) and somehow get it into the chart?

Each row has a header, so far so good. The first row exixt of calender data and I planned it to use them as my x-axis labeling. But somehow excel uses them as variables and changes them in to a third bar. Which is not what I had in mind when copied this litle piece of code.[code]

Mar 26, 2012I currently have a chart that plots lines of a changing value every time it is called via a timer.
Everything is running as I expected and I am happy, but now I want to be able to press a [STOP] button which will stop the timer and stop the graph from updating, (which I have coded and is now working OK), BUT I then want the code under this [STOP] button to clear everything from the graph, so when I re-start the timer, the graph is cleared and starts plotting fresh points on a clean graph.
The problem I currently have is that when I press the [STOP] button and then press the [START] button, the new lines that get plotted are "added" to the existing lines that are already on the chart, instead of having a new "blank" chart, with no data on it.
So what I am really asking is does anyone know if it is possible to reset a chart clearing everything off it so it is ready to start displaying fresh data?
I was hoping it was something like: "Chart1.Clear" or something simple like that, but I can't seem to find anything that will do it.

Jul 4, 2009I can not figure out how to get the chart to display the labels. When I try and add labels, the lines get messed up. Also, if I try and do multiple lines it does not always work out very well. I tried different ColumnLabels and they behave very strange as well. What I want is to be able to have several lines. Aug 5, 2010Basically I've coded an Excel 2007 project in VB.NET 2010 that allows you to create charts with a fair amount of interactivity. I want the user to be able to save and reopen this workbook and still have that interactivity in any already-created charts, so they don't have to re-create them.
When I create the charts, I use Sheet1.Controls.AddChart(...), which returns a Microsoft.Office.Tools.Excel.Chart with which I can handle events and such. However, when I reopen the file and look through the Sheet1.Controls collection, there are no Chart objects. Accessing the charts through Sheet1.ChartObjects.Chart gives me Interop Charts, when I need the Tools Charts.

May 9, 2012I was using ContentType="application/vnd.ms-excel" on my web site to display a datatable in an excel workbook on the client. It worked great. Now that I have upgraded to Office 2007 and vb.net 2010, I get a warning saying that the file is in a different format than specified by the file extension (.xls). I googled new ways of exporting data to excel, but have yet to find a good example. I usedMicrosoft.Office.Interop.Excel which worked great, except I read that you are not supposed to use this on a web server.

I currently have a for loop which goes through a 2d array and prints out all the things I want into a textbox but, what I want is to be able to have a table and print the things I want into rows and columns instead. I am new to VB.NET in Java it was just a matter of creating a table and a table model and loading the data through that way but not sure how to do it in .NET

If i choose e.g. the 3-rd row of the 1-st column of the table in the DataGridView and click Button1 it opens Form2. where i have TextBox1 which i want it to show the 2-nd column of the 3-rd row, TextBox2 shows-the 3-rd column of the 3-rd row and so on.

Jun 12, 2011I am trying to build a function where it calls a dialog box to select an excel file to upload. Once the file is selected then read all data from worksheet 1 except for the header row and insert them into a table while omitting duplicates.
In the excel file, I have 4 columns of data I need to insert into a table called tblParcel which already contains some data from previous transactions. Since there might be overlapping of data, I need a function where it would omit duplicate data when inserting them into the table. I need to do this without the usage of SQL Import and Export feature.
