I have a database table Files with a column Validated type of bit. Default is 0 and when a file is validated the column turn to 1.In my app I have two discs, a red one for 0 and a green for 1, so I would like to display the disc in a Winform datagrid witch color will depend on that column value.

Now I would like to have some effects like flip out,ease out effect and fade effect on those images when changing them without using any user control as I would like to do with the existing picturebox.Is it possible to do so?

I have been researching for a while, and now am converting my project from using forms to do transparencies to just drawing the images. At first, I thought picturebox's could be used, but can't figure out how to do transparencies on those, so I settled for drawing images. View 4 RepliesI am drawing five images in a row. The five are the same thing at five different zoom levels. Therefore, only one of the five will be displayed at any one time, but the others have to be there because there can be over 100 images being displayed on the screen at any one time, and each drawing is quite complicated. If I were to draw them all on the fly, then zooming would require that all 115 images be recreated and redrawn with each zoom. That's painful. To avoid that, I draw all five zoom levels of each image. When the user iteracts with the form, they will be interacting with, at most, two of the images, so when they interact with the form, only two of the 115 have to be redrawn, though those two have to have all five zoom levels drawn, for a total of 10 images.

I have a list of Active Directory entries (computer names) as a Collection data type. How can I add the computer entries and the pertinent columns to the DataGrid control on my WinForm? I have borrowed this code from some web site to add the list of computer to the pcList which is a Collection type.

i have a databound datagrid in vb.net 2008. This is a program where i use the double click event multipal times.. but for some reason on a new form it's not working anymore. In code behind i selected the datagrid and double click event. when i double click on teh grid in debug mode, it never fires off the event(i put a breakpoint in). I've tried several other events and none of them are firing.
View 1 RepliesI have a Form1 where i can add usercontrols during runtime. I draw their appereance in the OnPaint event using the GDI+ engine. The greate part is that i want to be able to resize these images during runtime wich goes pretty well now cause i draw points in percentage of the control. Unfortunetly it is very difficult to draw nice images/drawings ect with the GDI+ engine. Is there any other way in doing this?

From what I'm finding, there doesn't appear to be any particular function available to obtain the value from a particular field from a double clicked on row of a datagrid...
So if you wanted to double click on a particular result in a datagrid, then pass one or more of the values of that row, you couldn't?
I was thinking something like this, but of course that doesn't work, any ideas?

It worked. But, when i click on the next student and go back to the previous, the picture is not there. When I stop the debugging and start again the picture is there but it stops displaying again after going back and forward.

I need some code to draw a resizable, draggable rectangular cursor (or selection box) on a picturebox. I found some excellent code (albeit rather old) that does just that, but on a form rather than a picturebox. I have tried converting the code - basically moving things to the picturebox events (Paint, MouseDown, MouseMove etc). It nearly works but leaves a trail behind it when you move or resize the cursor. In other words, the selection rectangle is not being erased before being drawn in the new position.
Is there some fundamental difference between drawing graphics on a form and drawing on a picturebox that would cause this behaviour? Something like, when you invalidate a form and cause a redraw it erases what you did last? If not, then I just need to dig a bit further and work out how the cursor is being erased from the previous position.

Say I have 3 Buttons, labelled: Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3. When I click on any button I want a drawing of that unit to appear on screen at a pre-specified starting point. Thereafter when I press any other one of the buttons the unit drawings appear alongside each other in a line. So I could end up with:
