I have an asp.net 4.0 webpage which has 10 chart controls on it. I have been to email the chart controls to the current logged in user when they open the page. The chart controls will be different for each user. I have been testing this by trying to send 1 chart control but the body of the email doesnt show the chart only the image outline. I have tried several things but cant get it to work. The code i have just now is -
web.config
<add key="ChartImageHandler" value="storage=memory;deleteAfterServicing=true;"/>
webpage
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
I am using microsoft chart controls in VB.net. The graph data currently comes from my database, but all the series and chart formats were made before runtime. I want to know how to make charts on runtime, being able to select the x axis from my dataset and multiple y columns from my dataset.
I have a chart in Excel that I'd like to use a subtitle on. There is no SubTitle Property on the chart object, so I looked in the Excel User interface and found that you can only create a sub-title by using a text box. The text box looks like its associated with the chart, not the worksheet, so how would I access that text box from code?
Somehow my vb.net 2008 does not have chart controls and it seems like i cant do graphs how do I get it. I've tried downloading it but my computer says I have to instal framework 3. Which I have.
I'm currently working on a WinForms project using .NET v3.5 due to limitations imposed by a 3rd party API that I have to use.
For the project I have to include some graphs however I've no budget (surprise, surprise) to purchase 3rd party controls & the graph controls within .NET v3.5 dont have that elusive "wow" factor that I'm looking for.
The chart controls in .NET v4 (MS version of the Dundas controls) are just what I'm looking for but I unfortunately cant use them as the 3rd party API won't work in v4 & there are no plans to have it upgraded to v4 compatable anytime soon
Does anyone have a pointer to any good (& free) chart controls that I could use ?
I add a mailing list feature where visitors to the site can enter their email address into a simple form and hit a button to send the email address to the site owner. That seems simple enough. However, after researching both Visual Studio and Javascript communities I can't seem to find a way to do this. It isn't possible to know what type email clients folks are using so hard coding an Outlook type function won't work for everyone and the same goes for setting up SMTP to Gmail or Yahoo.
Many sites have features like this but I can't seem to figure out a solution that works for all clients no matter what they use for email. Is there some type of universal web based email client that can be used where the user doesn't need to authenticate?
Anyone got any good examples of using the Microsoft Chart Controls?
What I'm trying to do is use a line graph. What I'm trying to do is graph stock prices. I have the date of each day for the past year in a list of strings called stock_date, and the closing price in another list of strings called close.
How do you get the stock_date to be on the x-axis, and the close price on the y_axis[code]...
I developed a ClickOnce application using MS Chart Controls. It works fine for the charting part. But, as Chart Control needs to be installed beforehand (with admin rights and not with classic ClickOnce deployment), I need to detect if the component is available on the machine. So I tried to create a new Chart and to handle the possible Exception but it seems it is not possible to catch it (too low level Exception?) :
Try Dim oChart as New Chart Catch ' Some user-friendly message to ask the user to contact the helpdesk End Try
This code is never executed: I get a unhandled Exception as soon as I enter the event this code is in. See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I'm trying to fill a web ASPX form thru a VB.NET desktop program using the IE control SHDocVw.InternetExplorerSo far i can set all the textfields that i have to set and click the send button, but i have a small problem: i have to execute a "validation" java script code that is on the ASPX page before clicking the SUBMIT button.
Here's my code: Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
One section of my latest project idea involves linking several form controls to the Google map (distance calculating section), which is area I'm not familiar with.
What I would like to achieve is following: (VB2010) I would like to link two combo boxes on my form to Google map (Start Address and End Address)as well as two labels representing distance & ETA time to Google map (Suggested route, option No.1, highlighted section).
As soon as user select values from combo drop downs on my form, code performs search trough Google web page and return values to my labels on a form. At the same time database would be populated with a same search values (Start Address, End Address, Distance in Km and ETA time)
Link to a web page seems to be a very common request within community members but I did not find anything similar to what I would like to do, so it makes me think that my project idea is going to be" hard bone". I do not need Google web page displayed on my form in a split container or in any other way.
This time I am stucked with a JSP page which is loaded in my webbrowser control. I have checked that it has been loaded. But I am unable to locate any of the controls of that page. Even in the count of any html controls it displays me 0. The page contains two frames and there is no "iFrames". Has Javascript got do anything with this?
My requirement is to graph (scatter graph) data from 2 arrays. I can now connect the data from the array and use it on the chart. My question is, how do I set the graph's X- and Y- axes to show consistency in their intervals?
How do I dynamically add or remove a chart series on a WinForm. To date all my MS Charting experience has been dealing with ASP.Net charts with static sql select statment to a SQL Database. In the new project that I have been assigned I have different cities with different amounts of points that they want monitored. One city might have 3 an another might have 5 or 7 so I can't hard code the amount of series that I need. It needs to be set up so the amount of series can be flexible depending on the city selected and then display those points on the chart.
I can not figure out how to get the chart to display the labels. When I try and add labels, the lines get messed up. Also, if I try and do multiple lines it does not always work out very well. I tried different ColumnLabels and they behave very strange as well. What I want is to be able to have several lines. Each with their own label. And also, I want to specify text for each point at the very bottom of the graph. Let me know what suggestions you have. [Code]
i wish to create line chart, pie chart and bar chart using vb.net of visual studio 2005.Second question is i wish to copy a few data into datagridview from microsoft office tools such as access or excel using shortcut key 'ctrl+C' and 'ctrl+V'.code to do the 2 functions above without installing additional tools?
i have an aspx page with vb.net back end. in that page i get names and url's from the database depending on different conditions. My requirement is that when i get the url, the code should then use that url and have that webpage in a small preview form on my existing aspx page. so basically i have a table as follows -
I'm having problem with MS Chart chart type column. If there are only 9 bar in the chart like the following picture, then the axis-x label show up properly.
However, there are more than 9 bars bar the chart, the axis-x label wont show up properly, some of them just dissappear.
I don't know it works with only 9 bars? Is there any way to make the chart work properly? Also, if possible, how to make each bar have different color.
