I am using microsoft chart controls in VB.net. The graph data currently comes from my database, but all the series and chart formats were made before runtime. I want to know how to make charts on runtime, being able to select the x axis from my dataset and multiple y columns from my dataset.
Anyone got any good examples of using the Microsoft Chart Controls?
What I'm trying to do is use a line graph. What I'm trying to do is graph stock prices. I have the date of each day for the past year in a list of strings called stock_date, and the closing price in another list of strings called close.
How do you get the stock_date to be on the x-axis, and the close price on the y_axis[code]...
I have Visual Studio 2010 and a VB Project that had a reference to Microsoft.Interop.Excel 12.0. Well recently I changed the reference version to 14.0. That was actually a mistake and now I need to bump it back down to version 12.0. However I get this error in my project now...
Project 'MyProject' requires a reference to version '14.0.0.0' of assembly 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel', but references version '12.0.0.0' of assembly 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel'.
I tried removing references and adding the com object to, but no avail.
I was trying to make my program see if facebook.com was running in internet explorer.
I added the following
Private Function isFaceBookOpen() As Boolean For Each ie As SHDocVw.InternetExplorer In New SHDocVw.ShellWindows() Dim filename As String = System.IO.Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(ie.FullName).ToLower() If filename = "iexplore" Then
[code]...
And added reference; Microsoft Internet Controls (COM tab) but i also need to add this reference; Microsoft.mshtml (.NET tab)
Problem is that i can't find that reference. BTW, I want the function to be triggered by a timer.
I've got an exception when I deployed my application: "the located assembly's manifest does not match the assembly reference" What I remember is changing the project name from the previous source code, does it affect that much?
Basically I've coded an Excel 2007 project in VB.NET 2010 that allows you to create charts with a fair amount of interactivity. I want the user to be able to save and reopen this workbook and still have that interactivity in any already-created charts, so they don't have to re-create them.
When I create the charts, I use Sheet1.Controls.AddChart(...), which returns a Microsoft.Office.Tools.Excel.Chart with which I can handle events and such. However, when I reopen the file and look through the Sheet1.Controls collection, there are no Chart objects. Accessing the charts through Sheet1.ChartObjects.Chart gives me Interop Charts, when I need the Tools Charts.
I have a web site that uses the both c# and vb.net in the app_code section. The different languages are separated into their own folder and correctly configured in the web.config.
This works fine 95% of the time. In production using 2 load balanced servers I sporadically receive an error message along the lines of:
"Unable to find assembly 'App_SubCode_BasicCode.xxx, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=netural, PublicKeyToken=null'.
The site is hosted in IIS7 and I think it has something to do with the name of the dll assigned during dynamic compilation. I do not see this problem in a single server environment. Could this be because when the session is balanced to the second server the dynamic compiled dll name is different?
I'm using the Microsoft Chart Controls for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and am having a spot of trouble getting Data Markers to show on the image.I'm generating the chart at run-time, so can't just use the designer.
Sub New() MainChart = New Chart MainChart.Size = New Drawing.Size(500, 200)
[code]....
Which all works lovely, and I get pretty charts. The only problem is that there are no markers on the datapoints.
I am trying to use my .NET DLL library that is compiled in VIsual Studio 2008 in Linux. Now for that they have this Mono CLI implementation but unfotunately they have not fully implemented Microsoft.VisualBasic library as of yet. So when i try to call certain methods from my DLL i get this error: "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.VisualBasic, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies.".
But not every function in my DLL crashes with this error. I found out that it is because this error only occurs when i use VisualBasic functionality. But the problem is that many things that come from this library are default things that you can do when using VB .NET.
Is there any way i can completely remove VIsualBasic functionality from my code in my DLL library?
I read in another post that setting Option Strict On is a good place to start but i still get the error even after doing that. Additionaly, i have unchecked VisualBasic namespace and removed it from references.
I want to get this Assembly version, I have an old application and lost the source code. When I try to disassemble with reflect it ask for Microsoft.VisualBasic Version=7.0.3300.0 Where I can find it?
I'm using Microsoft chart 2.0 in one of my university projects. At home im using visual basic express 2008 on Windows Vista (32bit) and everything works fine. However I have to demo my project in the university next week.I was going to use my laptop for the demo, which runs on Windows 7 (64bit).I changed the compile settings to 64bit however Visual Express does not seem to recognize Microsoft Chart 2.0 on the laptop. I tried adding the dll file but still no luck.
I have an application that has a load of values in its app.exe.config file. The application is used by a few users, and the settings would change on a regular basis. so im having to change the config file, and send it out to all users.
I'd love to move the config file to the network somewhere and point the app to this file. ive tried to use;
I use:Imports Microsoft.Office.Interop as well as a Reference from the "COM" tab called "Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library"
I built my program then copied the .exe from the inDebug folder to a location on my company's server. I then double clicked the .exe and it ran as I expected it would. My boss then tried (from another computer) and he gets this error:See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.
I am using a Microsoft Chart control (system.windows.forms.datavisualization.charting.chart) in a Windows forms application, vb.net 2008. I use folder paths for the x values in a pie chart. Chart control converts a name like c:ewfolder into c:[newline]ewfolder. I tried adding a slash, making it c:\newfolder, but this only changes it to c:[newline]ewfolder. Is there a workaround for this behavior?
On the DataGrid control it says: "the type datagrid was not found, Verify that you are not missing an assembly refernece" I'm creating the control within a Win Forms app. What assembly to I need to include and how do I do that in XAML?
I have VS 2005. I am creating a VB .NET class that will interop with a COM app. I want to add a reference to a type lib file (.tlb). So I run the add reference command and use the browse button. I browse to the .tlb file I want and ok out. When I am done, the reference I have is to an assembly in the GAC. But I don't want that assembly as a reference. I want to have the IDE create a private interop assembly that I will deliver with my .NET object.
So how do I avoid hvaing VB .NET pull in an assembly from the GAC instead of creating an interop asm from the typelib I have browsed to?
I have a pretty complicated project with lots of class files, code modules, etc. There was a changed to one of my referenced DLLs that requires an isolated change in a single Sub within my solution. Unfortunately, this new Sub is not compatible with most of my clients' configuration but is required by some of my other clients. So now I must keep two versions in Source Safe of my solution - which I do not want to do. What I would like to do is to be able to determine which DLL is running and flip a switch to use the either the old Sub or the new Sub. Currently the sub is in a class, but I could break it out. Is it possible to determine which assembly version DLL is running? Also, if I reference the new DLL, the old Sub will not build. If I reference the old DLL, the new Sub will not build. So is there a way to keep both Subs in the same project?
Can I use reflection to know what is the assembly version of a loaded DLL?
I have an industrial control program that we install on OEM equipment. This equipment falls into one of two categories; those WITH a special piece of IO hardware installed on the computer and those without.
This IO hardware has .NET 3.5 support assemblies, and is easy to program for. In my program, I reference the assemblies under the Project Properties and I'm good to go. Here's my problem... my program now seems to NEED this assembly to even start up, even if I'm not directly accessing anything in it until much later in the programming. When we ship any version of this equipment; I need to install the IO hardware assemblies whether the equipment needs it or not just for my program to run. The assemblies are bundled onto a hardware driver disk, and this sucker is 3gig.
What I would like to do is alter my program so that it runs no matter if it finds those assemblies or not. If not, then it will automatically close off certain functionallities (you can't use that because your computer don't have the hardware installed); and ideally, Visual Studio won't have 100 errors about a "missing reference". If found, then it will call them and use them normally as the program currently does.
I have this Windows Form application that is a single application.I recently created a ASP .NET Web Service on a server and added a Service Reference to this Web Service in my app.It looks like it is forcing me to use an app.config now.Is there a way to somehow prevent the creation of this file and have those settings embedded within the app.
Has anyone ever tied to get a reference to resolve and then concatenate with a literal in an app.config key? I am trying to point to a resource, which in this case is a PDF file, and want to make the path to the resource configurable.[code]What I get is a string with the embedded double quotes I want but the Application.StartupPath reference does not resolve.
