I've been running the exe file ok but recently I got this error. I suspected it could be because of the windows update which the IT technical had run earlier. Anyone knows what's the cause of this error? Please see the attachment for the error.
i just want to ask why this error mean?InvalidOperationException was unhandled by user code//The provider could not determine the String value. For example, the row was just created, the default for the String column was not available, and the consumer had not yet set a new String value.

I wrote the programme with vs2008 and access 2007,i built its setup.when i execute my setup on winxp ,its true, but when i execute it on win 7 ,when i want to save my data i have an error.
The type for variable 'cri' will not be inferred because it is bound to a field in an enclosing scope. Either change the name of 'cri', of use the fully qualified name (for example, 'Me.cri' or 'MyBase.cri')I have created a class file with name Predefined which consists of this methods like cricket,BasketBall from this methos im returning List of string typeim calling that class in button click i As Integer = 0 To cric.Count - 1
I have this flood-fill algorithm, based on a queue (I tried the recursive method but pictures are too big and it was causing stack overflow). The problem is that when it makes the second pass in the for-each loop, the program crashes and compiler gives me the message "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.".Well, of course I know the collection was modified (it supposed to be!) since I am adding necessary items to it on-the-fly within the loop. What I cannot understand is why it happens since the for-each is based on the remaining items in the collection and not in a numeric index.
Below, the actual code:
Code: Public Sub FloodFill(ByVal myx As Integer, ByVal myy As Integer) Dim icoord As coordinate Dim ocoord As coordinate
Just trying to execute commands in cmd.exe just a simple Net Stop [service] and get a error 5. I want it to run cmd in administrator mode. One way I have seen that you can by holding down ctrl & shift while clicking cmd.exe?
Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. I completed a few projects earlier this year and have just returned to build a new project and find that I am getting an error on the build. I get the following message: Unable to output file '<Projects location><Project_name>objDebug<Project_name>.exe'. Could not execute CVTRES.EXE.
I also get this message on projects I have completed previously. I have reinstalled (repair) and then un-installed and reinstalled Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition to no avail. I also notice that Help topics such as Technical Support and Check for Updates give the following response: The operation could not be completed. I am unaware of any changes to the environment that could have caused these errors.
I am making a GUI for ffmpeg. And i want a own namespace for it. So you can ex. write in Form1.vb:
ffmpeg.Execute("The command to execute")
or
ffmpeg.SetType.CBR
But i can't get it to work. This is what i have:
Imports System.IO Namespace ffmpeg Public Class Execute
[code]....
In the execute option, it gives me an error of Execute is a type in ffmpeg, not an expression. In the SetType thing, the two subs doesn't even come up when i call it.
This is what happened: on the form load of my application i created a background worker to bind collection (records from database filled in the dataset) on my control. but the problem is when the i updated the records on the database it throws an error if i run this procedure again.
If xControl.InvokeRequired Then Dim MyDelegate As New InitializeDataBinding_Delegate(AddressOf InitializeDataBinding) Invoke(MyDelegate, New Object() {xControl, xQuery, xPrimaryKey}) ' ERROR HERE SAYING: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.
I'm getting a Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute error every time I try to close this form. I suspect it has something to do with the StringBuilder() which I have declared in the starting form (Details1). I have already spent hours looking for the problem. It does not throw an error when I debug, only when I install on other machines.
I am encountering an error when looping through datarows. I searched SO and tried the solutions, but no luck. Collection was modified; enumeration operation might not execute.
Dim dRow As DataRow For Each dRow In dt.Rows dt.Rows.Add(dRow("CustNum"), dRow("SalesRepName"), dRow("mgrid"), "=""" & dRow("midValue") & """", dRow("dba"), dRow("sysDate"), dRow("statusID")) Next
The error occurs the first time the code hits "Next". What would be causing Collection was modified; enumeration operation might not execute. How can I resolve this error?
When I try to print my record using ReportViewer.exe error that given is - "The Array s Fixed or Temporarily Locked (Run Time error When I debug through the code error is - "Method 'AddRows of object 'ICrystalDataObject' failed"
Dim cdoRecordSet As CrystalComObject Set cdoRecordSet = CreateObject("CrystalDataObject.CrystalComObject")
It read some data from a database and put the result into a word document. In this document is a blanc table with a bookmark to indicate the start position. In debugmode this works fine and after distributing thsi is still working fine.A user called me to say that the word document was a complete mess. I ran the application in production mode and yes it is a complete mess. Because the bookmark is not found, the data will be enterd into the wrong column. When i return to debug mode, the apllication is still correct and the result on the word document is good. Behalf of this, there are users who don't have this problem at all.
I'd like some help with this error that other users has when they launch the app I created. I will copy / paste the error

I am working on an application in Visual Basic Express using an Access 2000 database.I am trying to get athe following SQL query to work but get an error in Access.
The query is:
SELECT [ID], [Title], [Author], [Series], [YearPublished], [ISBN], [CoverPrice], [Style], [Condition], [Signed], [Comments], Count([Title]) AS CountOfBooks, Sum([CoverPrice]) AS TotalCoverPrice FROM tblBooks WHERE ID=[@ID];
The error is:"You have tried to execute a query that does not include the spec ified expression 'ID' as a part of the aggragate function."
The query works fine without the 'Count' and 'CoverPrice' count and sum to the query.
I'm getting this error when I deploy a VB.NET application and for the life of me I cannot figure out why.I do not get this error when I run the app from the IDE and the test machine I am deploying it to has a similar configuration to the dev machine...Windows 7 & .NET 3.51 SP1 and 4.0.The app bombs out when the main form is loaded after logging in. I've narrowed it down to the main form because if I load another form from login and then open the main form, this happens.
I have a form with a listview, and it operates as I expect it to, but when I close the form the debugger stops on the me.close() method and pulls up the collection was modified;enumeration operation may not execute error. this occurs even when I do nothing in the program and just try to run and close it.
i have problem when i click a ADD button, there is one null value in the textbox .. so the try catch statemnt is to catch that null value error but after that the catch is success but the button click never stop excute the statemnt till the end of the button event.
When I close some of the forms I have opened in my project, i get an error that says "Collection was modified, Enumeration operation may not execute"I used a Try/Catch error handler on one of the forms and it stopped the error from popping up, but I want to know what I can do so that this does not keep happening.
I have a logout menu option in my MDI application. On log out I want to close all open forms. currently i am using following code snippet to achieve this;
For Each f As Form In My.Application.OpenForms If f.Name = Me.Name Then For Each child As Form In f.MdiChildren
[code]....
It is working perfect in my test environment, even though I expected For Each loop will throw "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute" exception. since on each child form Close() calls, f.MdiChidren collection get modified, that surprised me a lot. Can anybody tell me why it's not throwing that exception? However it throws "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute" in a client system.
i have a stored procedure that updates TableA with data from TableB when i run it from SQL managment studio it workes, so the SP is error FREE, all i need is to execute this from a button click event.

I have a BindingNavigatorMoveNextItem_Click event and I want to execute btnSave_Click() event.. its asking for e args, what do I use as args?em.EventArgs) Handles BindingNavigatorMoveNextItem.Click
ALTER DATABASE test SET ENABLE_BROKER this is the sql query i wish to execute while program is executing.because i do not want to everytime i change computer also need open sql management tool to execute this query rath
catch statements - it works well just checking my disk drive for a file, if an error is thrown then I open the disk tray and ask them to put the disk in, click OK on the message box and it performs another check for the file, if this fails the button that starts all this is disabled on my main form (the code is shown below).
Okay, so my problem is I'd like to have the message box pop up and the have the drive open up (using an API which I have) either at the same time or in the order of: message box then drive open. I can see two ways to do this: Have the commands happen at the same time (Can you even do this?) OR Have the message box appear and then open the disk drive (but how I could achieve this I don't know as the message box waits for the user to click OK... I originally though of starting a timer just before and getting it to open the disk drive tray in the tick event,
Code:
Public Class Form1 'open cd-rom tray API Private Declare Function mciSendString Lib "winmm.dll" Alias "mciSendStringA" (ByVal lpstrCommand As String, ByVal _
