i try to open the project but it wont happen, i click the project name or use the file menu, but nthn would happen. and the solution doesn't appear in the solution explorer
i repaired VB using the installation DVD but still wont work :(

VS 2008 - Openning Word Inside A Winform?
Oct 29, 2009I am trying to open a word template inside a form in my vb.net application but I cannot seem to find any guidance to doing this. I do not want to call microsoft word to open in order to see/read/write on my template. I want the word document to be within a form I am creating like a print preview sort off. I am using Word 2007 and VS 2008. I have been using so far automation and calling and interacting with the template but until so far I have to open Microsoft word to open it for me.

Dec 4, 2011is there a way to extract all the text from a Word Document in VB.NET without actually openning the file? I'm asking since it is a very time and memory consuming operation to open a word document, select all, assign it to a variable and the close the file.I have a routine the opens all emails in a mailbox and analyses the body and subject object for regular expressions. I would like to do the same for the attachment, if it's in Word. if it's not possible to extract without openning the file, can anyone give me the best way to do it so that the routine doesn't destroy my server memorywise?

Jun 2, 2011I got a serious problem. Though I have made my program newly it shows error. I have used 1280,1024 animation only for first form then used 1280,1024 image for every form. Today I was checking then it was showing me error message for 19th & 20th form. If I use On Error Resume Next then it shows error for another form ; if I use same code there in the menu item I mean so that I can get rid of error when I click to show a form it shows another error. First error message is "InvalidOperationException was unhandeled An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is parameter is not valid." and second error is "OutofMemoryException was unhandled Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown". I have noticed it that it doesnt show error message for those form which have few labels and text boxes. It shows error message for those forms which have 1 menu bar, 2 picture boxes(one is 1280,1024 & another is 250,456), 2 group boxes, 40 labels, 3 combo boxes, 38 text boxes & three buttons. Please help me I need to get rid of this problem. Does it mean that I cant use unlimited control there in my form?

Nov 24, 2010The Form Designer in the IDE is no longer working properly. When I create a new project, the Form Designer will work, but after I save it and close the IDE and reopen the next day the Form Designer no longer shows the form and instead says "To prevent possible data loss before loading the designer, the following errors must be resolved: An Error occurred while parsing EntityName.Line 2, position 62" If I click ignore and continue, then it just displays a blank form with no controls. The problem appears to have started after I unistalled and reinstalled VB2008 Express.

In form I have a close/Cancel button, and I set Causes Validation = false, and on its Click I used "Me.Close", but form can not be closed.
Button Works fine, but form can not be closed until text field has been validated.

Oct 26, 2010I have installed on my computer Visual Studio 2010 Premium with everything that this software comes when you are paying 5200 EURO.Now I am working to an application in which I have included some Reports with Microsoft Report tool. (not Crystal Report). I have to say that I have created application with .NET Framework 3.5.If I am running this application on my computer everything is ok but if I am running this application on another computer I receive this error:[code]I mention that I runned the application on a computer with NET Framework 3.5 installed. May 19, 2012I am creating a simple email application which sends mail from a user's Gmail account, as I haven't worked out how to receive incoming mail yet.I have created a form (frmSignIn) which asks for the log-in info and another (frmComposeMessage) which has all text boxes necessary for composing an email (to, subject, message body).After clicking Sign In on the first form, it should hide it and open the second form, however I get this error:

For example I have a form that searches an item in the data base. The other form shows the items details or history. All database communication is handled by data-manager classes. Each whit it own instance of the class. The child forms have no connection to each other (passing of the item is by global variable object).The error occurs after the formclosed event from the closing form.The same error occurs when I open the form one by one.When I have two different child's open and I close one I get this error message: System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled. Getting Error On Login Form?
Mar 3, 2010i am trying to create a login form for my project that will take the entered username and password and compare it with records in the database TaxiProjectDatabase, table Users, and either show authentication is successful or it failed.
From following some tutorials i have got:

My problem is that when i click the button to run the code after entering a username and password i get the annoying " object reference not set to an instance of an object" and in the immediate window "A first chance exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in Taxi Service Project.exe".
