[Code] Which (when looped) checks all items that contain X, However, I am getting a lot of false positives (i.e. if PGA is legit, PGA, LPGA, JLPGA, WHATEVERPGA will all be highlighted as well) Any way to change .indextof to an .exactindexof or something?

I need a way to tell me if a certain word already exists in a multi-lined textbox. Right now I have a multi-lined textbox with some names inside it. After each name I add a newline so all the names are on their own line inside the textbox.I use this code to add names to the textbox, Text Box1. AppendText(ComboBox1.Text + vbCrLf)Then I have been checking if the name exists by doing it this way,[code]The problem is that Ted and Teddy return the same when searching for Ted even if Ted isnt in the textbox at all, I have googled for the last few days and even tried RegularExpressions and still the same results. I think this might be a simple true or false check but I may be wrong... or even a loop or something line by line.
I have a aspx project, I'm using web developer 2005. I am currently trying to locate the exact location of my project. I have no clue how to do it as I only know the intranet address. like the localhost and all. I need to find out the exact location of the project from the intranet address which is only any name. Is there anyway to find out?
I has 4 item on my form.........tow listbox ,one button and one text boxI has a listbox 'A' with many items.....i need a item in a listbox 'B' from listbox 'A'steps are as follow.....that i like to performe...........1)enter a word or character in a textbox2)press a button3)the list appear in listbox 'B'.......that is character or string start in listbox 'A' that is we write in textbox (for matching)
Then skips straight to the Else without performing the two lines in between, regardless of whether the item was checked or not checked. It doesn't crash, doesn't throw any errors, so I am assuming I coded this wrong somehow.
I've got a checked listbox on my form which saves the checked items to a spot in my database on the .ItemCheck event.But there's a problem, when I begin checking items, I check the box and click off it, but it doesn't save. (This is if I've only chosen one item)
If I choose two or more items it will save, but unchecking them takes a lot of clicking around to figure it out.Is there a better event that I can use? I've tried the SelectedIndexChanged and that has the same result, there's a lot of clicking around in the checkboxes to end up with the desired selected items, and it does not allow a single item.
I've been writing a socket application in which the client sends a user/pass combination which the server compares to a local text file. I'm only hacvin a problem with a small section where I have a do loop which does this comparison:(the string 'fromclient' has been defined earlier, as the information was received from the client)
fromfile As String Dim sr As StreamReader = File.OpenText("C:PASS.txt") Do While sr.Peek <> -1
I am using ListView Control which CheckBoxes property of the control is set to true..when the from is loaded then all ordernos are loaded into the listview. when i select the orderno then enter contain of the selected orderno to displayed in datagridview control. now i want select 4 order nos and want to display all contain of 4 selected ordernos how find out which orderno is selected through loop and in which even i have to place.
Why is this code having the opposite effect? If It's checked in the checkedlistbox it's not check in my view, if it's not check in my checkedlistbox it is checked in the grid.
EDIT: More specifically. The CheckState.Checked is always the opposite. .Checked means it's not checked.

I am using VB.NET (version 2008). I have two types of items populating in a listbox (checked listbox). For example: lets say one is type "A" and other is "Type B". Their names maybe same so if the user sees those items in listbox then he won;t be able to determine their type until he click on them and checks out its properties. I wanted that I add each item to listbox and colour them so that blue for example means type "A" is there and red means the other. So this way I will be able to know at a glance that how many item of what type is present. I guess it may not be possible to do that in a standard checkedlistbox. I am also using component factory's krypton controls which enhance the gui of an application. But I dunno if I can progress using that.
I have been using the following code to remove text from strings so far;
String = Replace(String, "TextToChange", "")
However, I now would like to remove two words only when the occur consecutively for example, I would like to remove "Task 1", not all instances of the word "Task" and value "1".
Im trying to work out what the best way to match 2 strings together, but with a difference.
String1 = "dog cat bird chair book table" String2 = "the dog chassed the cat around the chair"
No I know I can break string1 up by space character and check if each word appears in string 2, I would prefer to not have to do that.If there some sought of regex that would take a group of words and retrun how many of them matched ?
I am reading information on missed deadlines from a database. For each missed deadline I add a item to the checked listbox and store the deadline's information in an array. I now want to disiplay all the selected (in the checkedlistbox) deadlines' information in another control, but at the moment I am getting an error. This is the code I am currently using to check which items have been selected
Dim x as integer For x = o to array.count - 1 do If checkedlistbox.GetItemChecked(x) = true do 'Here I am displaying array.item(x)'s information in the other control end if next
1) Say I have five items in the checked list box and I select all five items, when it gets to x= 3 it gives me the following error "ARGUMENT OUT OF RANGE EXCEPTION was unhandled: InvalidArgument=Value of '3' is not valid for 'index'. Parameter name: index" 2) Say I have five items in the checked list box and I select ONLY the first two items, when it gets to x=4 it gives me the same error as above only for the number 4.
I have tried the methods/functions GetItemCheckedState, SelectedIndices and GetSelected as well, but they all give the same or similar errors. According to me the index cannot be out of range as I have five items in the checkedlistbox as well as the array.
i need to display query data on a CheckedListBox and this is not a problem, but also i need to add this checked listbox to my toolstrip and this is when my problem starts, is there a way o doing this easy or do you have some sample code?
Should: take items and fill checked list box with possible tours that the company can receive (this is done and working) i.e. for 2012, Titleist gets X, Y, and Z; so there are two checked listboxes for 2012: lvl 1 and lvl 2, username specific Both have lists "X, Y, Z" in that order, lvl 1 and 2 is for the permissions level, 1 is lvl 1 and 2 is alex's 0 marking for full details code goes through and checks if lvl 1 is marked, if so it checks the tour in the lvl1 check box if zero is marked, finds the tour in lvl 2 and lvl 1 and checks both items if a tour exists for company but not for the user, the checkbox exists but neither is checked
I've got an issue with a program I am writing. The specific issue is replacing characters in a parent string by finding, and matching, specific characters within it that are parsed from an external xml file. It's for a chat-like client.Here's the 2 classes I am using to pull the emote strings, titles, and id from external XML:
Imports System.Text.RegularExpressions Imports System.Xml.Serialization Public Class emote
I am wondering if there is a way to get the keys from the registry and display them in a checked listbox. For example I want to get all the keys and there values from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun". This will allow me to see all the startup items. Is there a way that I can get all the values and display them in a checked listbox. I tried using the GetValue but it seems that you have to set the key that you want.
I enter numbers and Names into a text box and click 'add to list'. THe names go into a seperate listbox to the numbers.I then press 'show me the list' and i get to view my numbers and names listed in the two listboxs. I also have a button which averages the numbers in the numbers list box. But i dont know how to get it to work I will divide by the number of items in the list box.note: The average will be displayed in a label called: lblavg
Here is a picture of my code: http:puu.sh/CsED I have tried: For each item In lstListAges.Selecteditems
i have a string array that i want to output to a text file. the array size is 10000. i fill the array starting from 0 with some strings. at the end, i only want to show the array from index 256 to the last array that is not empty (for eg. if the array is filled with data from 0 to 2000, i only want the text file to show the data from 256 to 2000 and ignore the remaining strings). Is there any function to do this?t i use is shown below
Dim myArray(10000) as string Dim strArray As New System.IO.StreamWriter("c:List.txt") strArray.WriteLine("{0,10}{1,30}", "Index", "Symbol")
